However much Pakistan seems to have progressed, when it comes to matters such as transphobia, child marriages, etc., we’re still living in old times. These are some really grave problems that people are grappling with in rural and urban areas of our country. Child marriage is one of them, it’s the least talked issues of Pakistan and is most of the time not even considered as one.
But those who are committed to fighting stigma in the world seem to be doing their best to make it a better place. Take for instance, the transgender model Kami Sid who broke stereotypes last year. Waqar J Khan, the man who worked for the shoot with Kami is back with yet another photoshoot to bring the change. He collaborated with Saima Rashid for styling and Muhammad Haseeb Siddiqui for photography to highlight the issues of child marriages.
The photoshoot is dedicated to ending child marriages in Pakistan. It’s not just the message of the project that’s powerful, the photos themselves are absolutely stunning and speak for themselves.
