The 10th Hum Awards 2025 recently took place in Houston, Texas, USA on 12th October 2035. The event was attended by most of the popular Pakistani celebrities who were either nominated for their performances in hit Hum TV dramas or had to perform at the show and film projects. The stars, including Mehwish Hayat, Humayun Saeed, Ramsha Khan, Shuja Asad, Ali Zafar, Ali Haider, Ahmed Jahanzeb, and Asim Azhar, gathered at Houston and performed at the awards.

Recently, in Nadia Khan’s show Rise and Shine, Hum Awards’ mismanagement and controversies were exposed by the overseas Pakistani who attended the award function in Houston.

Talking about Hum Awards, Nazia Khan said, “Every good artist can’t be a good anchor. Dananeer Mobeen and Hamza Sohail were hosting the show but they made so many mistakes. They should have been given a short segment instead. You guys kept mispronouncing the names of popular actors — the mistakes were so frequent that some actors had to rudely correct them on stage. One artist’s name wasn’t even announced; Humayun Saeed was told backstage to go on stage, but Dananeer didn’t take his name — he came out himself and mentioned it on stage. You need to be spontaneous on stage, but they were visibly conscious and awkward. The audience had the same feedback.”

Talking about outfits, she said, “The outfits were tacky and terribly styled — the audience members were dressed better than the hosts! They wore western clothes when they could have gone for a classy fusion look. Mehwish Hayat wore a simple shalwar kameez that looked like a walima outfit, Hania Aamir’s outfit didn’t fit well, and Dananeer looked like Cinderella.

She further added, “The previous award shows were much better; HUM Awards have become overly commercialized — they seem to think overseas Pakistanis are fools. Tickets cost around 700 to 800 dollars. The crowd turnout was great, but many said they wouldn’t attend again. By the end, most of the audience had left the venue. The performances were just okay — Ali Zafar did well, but the rest were disappointing. Overall, it was a 6 out of 10 show; we had higher expectations, but it didn’t live up to them. ”
