Salman Khan, the Bollywood actor, is currently hosting Bigg Boss Season 20, which has been making headlines ever since its promos first aired on television. Now successfully in its second week, the show continues to generate debate—particularly around Salman Khan’s daily appearances.
When the initial promos were released, Salman was body-shamed, age-shamed, and trolled regarding his health. Many Indian social media users commented that he is no longer the young, energetic man he used to be and expressed disappointment over his visible aging.
During this week’s Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan fiercely addressed the trolls. He took off his shirt to showcase his six-pack abs and overall fitness, he said that it was his response to those who had age-shamed him or questioned his physique without evaluating their own. He also defended female actors, urging people to stop trolling women who gain weight during pregnancy: “Everyone gains weight during pregnancy. When they return to the screen, they will get back into shape, so stop doing that.”
His response earned strong support from the Bigg Boss housemates as well as widespread appreciation across India and Pakistan. Humayun Saeed, who is also facing the age criticism in Pakistan, was particularly impressed by Salman’s reply and reshared the viral video reel on his Instagram.
