The Sharif Family has been going through quite a tough time for the past year or so. They got a huge blow politically when the head of the family, the ex-prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was de-seated. Then both father and daughter went through trial and were arrested. Between all this political crisis, the biggest set back came when the matriarch of the Sharif family Begum Kulsoom Nawaz went seriously ill. She was admitted to the hospital where she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
The former first lady though responded to the treatment initially but did not survive and dies in London due to extreme illness. Junaid Safdar, the only son of Maryam Nawaz Sharif loved his grandmother a lot. In a recent gathering, he recited a Sufiyana Kalam and dedicated it to his late grandmother.
