Laal Kabootar wins Best Feature Film award at Tasveer South Asian Film Festival

The Mansha Pasha-Ahmed Ali Akbar starrer film, Laal Kabootar, has continued its winning streak, ever since its release. Earlier it was Ahmed Ali Akbar who bagged the Best Actor Award at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival and now its the film itself which has won another accolade to its name. Laal Kabootar, Pakistan’s submission for the Oscars 2020, won the Archana Soy Choice Award for best feature film at the Tasveer South Asian Film Festival.

The Tasveer South Asian Film Festival is the largest South Asian film festival in the United States and one of the two largest around the world. The festival took place from September 26th – Oct 6th, 2019, this year screening more than 60 films to more than 5000 festival attendees.

Laal Kabootar directed by Kamal Khan stars Ahmed Ali Akbar, as a taxi-driver bent on moving from Karachi to Dubai, and Mansha Pasha as Aliya Malik, a strong-willed woman who finds herself amidst a mystery she tries her best to resolve.

Also on popular demand, Laal Kabootar will be once again showcasing in cinemas across Pakistan from 11th October. Earlier upon its release, the film earned amazing reviews from the critics and audience alike, winning hearts all over, as it brought about a new genre, crime thriller, to the Pakistani cinema screens, after a long while.
