Recently, Munazzah Arif appeared on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa, where she candidly talked about the reality of marriages in Pakistan. During the show, she revealed that she had no expectations from her husband before marriage.
Munazzah Arif said, “The funny thing is that I had zero expectations from my marriage because it was an arranged marriage, and I was afraid of marriage. I think the reason for my marriage’s success was that I had no expectations from my husband. During the engagement period, I used to call him to get to know him, but every time he disappointed me. I would tell my grandmother that I didn’t want to marry this man because he wasn’t my type. My dadi then made me understand that the reality of marriage is different, and she was right. Initially, there are hurdles in every relationship. I wanted a romantic marriage because I was very young, but nothing like that happened. Our journey started with low expectations and grew with time. There come all sorts of situations—you fight, you laugh, and you experience life together. Relationships are broken and reborn, just like the cells in your body break and new cells are born. We saw highs and lows but stood by each other through thick and thin.” Watch here:
