Lazawal Ishq was Pakistan’s first dating reality show, which recently ended on the digital platform YouTube. Hosted by actress Ayesha Omar and filmed at a villa in Turkey, the show featured Pakistani male and female contestants. The format involved men and women living in the same mansion, interacting with each other to form relationships, and participating in various activities. This format triggered severe public backlash in Pakistan, and viewers rejected Lazawal Ishq. It also received below-average views on YouTube.

Recently, Nabeel Zafar, an established actor and Ayesha Omar’s colleague from Bulbulay, expressed his views on the shows like Lazawal Ishq.

Talking to Ahmed Goreja, Nabeel Zafar said, “I think such programs cannot get praise on Pakistani screens. For example, when Star Plus dramas took over, multiple channels were influenced by them, we started running such shows but they didn’t look good on our screens. Yes, they were aligned with the Indian audience, but our audience rejected them. Likewise, any show that is not made according to our culture will fail. It was a Turkish production and a Turkish concept, and it failed. It was an experimental type of show.” Watch here:
