Nadia Afgan is a senior Pakistani television actress who got popularity through the famous Ptv sitcom Shashlik. She has also appeared in numerous other hit PTV classics. Her recent notable projects include Laadon Main Pali, Shehrezaat, Parizaad, Tan Man Neel o Neel, Jafaa, Radd, Suno Chanda, Kabli Pulao, Kala Doriya, Sher, and others. Currently, fans are praising her acting in Shar Pasand especially her iconic dialogue ‘Farasat Ji Kaisey Ker Lete Hain Aap Yeh Sab’.
Recently, Nadia Afgan gave an interview to Hassan Choudhury for ARY Digital’s program The Buzz. In the interview, she opened up about adding the dialogue ‘Farasat Ji Kaisey Ker Lete Hain Aap Yeh Sab’ repeatedly in the drama. She also talked about the feedback she is recieving on her acting.
Talking about dialogue, Nadia Afgan said, “I think it happened accidentally this time but when I did Suno Chanda I argued with Aehsun Talish who was directing Suno Chanda. There was a line in it , ‘Nawa Katta’, which I wasn’t agreeing to, but Aehsun told me that in old PTV dramas there used to be a pet phrase associated with an actor which used to become popular. He advised me to add ‘Nawa Katta’ and it became a thing. So this time, I didn’t argue with Aehsun Talish. It was written twice or thrice in the scene, but we decided to add it frequently because Rubi is the one who is in awe of her husband, and we have such examples in our society. It became successful because of the variations I added into it, I spoke it as per the emotions of Rubi.”
Talking about feedback, she said, “I am overwhelmed with the feedback of Rubi, although I didn’t want to do a negative character. Rubi, in my opinion, isn’t negative; she is only in love with her husband. She thinks of him as a saint and thinks of herself as god-fearing. She has in mind that everyone with her husband isn’t fair.”

She has previously worked in hit dramas like Mohabbat Chordi Maine and Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai. Rushna Khan was brought up in Canada and also worked as Cabin crew for years. She is married to Geo TV’s anchor Shahzeb Khanzada who is also the writer of her ongoing drama series Case No 9.
Recently, Rushna Khan appeared in the Geo TV’s Podcast, hosted by Mubashir Hashmi. In the podcast, she opened up about getting Case No 9 offer and her experience working with Faysal Quraishi and Saba Qamar.
Talking about how she was offered Case No. 9, Rushna Khan said, “Case No. 9 was a dream project for me. The way it was written, then I acted in it, what I experienced was surreal because its set was especially designed. It was a courtroom drama, and all the actors admitted that they were doing such a drama for the first time. They all told me that it was the first time that they were working in such a setting, and this idea emerged in front of me, and then the way it was executed is something great. We should make such dramas more and more.
Talking about how she was offered, Rushna said, “I was called by 7th Sky Entertainment when they were signing the actors, and I was so happy to receive the offer, and when I heard about the cast, I got excited because they all were big names.”
Talking about Kiran’s character, she said, “Kiran is a layered character; she is quiet from the outside, but there is a storm inside her.’ Kiran and Kamran were old friends, then they got married, and then she became a mother; she is already dealing with postpartum depression when she had to face this; this was challenging to play Kiran”
Talking about working with big names, she said, “I was a bit confused when I realised I have to work with Saba Qamar and Faysal Quraishi, but I am the kind of actor who shuts off all the thoughts when I go into the scene. But with Faysal, Saba and all the actors, they made me feel so comfortable. He did not show me that I am something lesser and he’s a big star.”
Talking about Saba Qamar, she said, “Saba Qamar is a powerhouse; she is so into her work, she is so talented, and she is so hard-working. She is a combination of both. I was in awe of her; the way she performed crying scenes, she aced it. I think only Saba Qamar could do Case No. 9.”
Faysal Quraishi is a remarkable Pakistani actor and host. His famous dramas include Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Bashar Momin, Muqaddar, Khaie, Haiwaan, Farq, Hook, Behroopia, Bheegi Palkain, and Fitoor. Recently, Faysal Quraishi appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show, hosted by Rabia Mughni, where he opened up about his concerns as a father to very young children.
Talking about it, Faysal Quraishi said, “Obviously, when you have a family, you worry for them. I often tell my wife that my kids are too young at this point, which is why I want to live long enough to see them settled. Late born children give you this biggest tension—what if we die while they are not settled in life? As a father, that’s a huge concern. What security do we have in Pakistan? What support do we get from the government? Nothing. We all know what happened to our senior actors who passed away—what did they get in return? Maybe some small cheques of fifty thousand or one lac. I love to spend time with my kids. I make sure to take time out for my children in the morning. I might skip my sleep, but I never skip my routine of taking them to school.” Here is the link to the video:

Talking about the issue, Fiza Ali said, “There is a viral video on social media from Bridal Couture Week where two big celebrities walked for a designer—one was from television, and the other was from social media. During the ramp walk, the TikToker was not given sufficient space on the stage, which looked bad. I want to request stars who already have the limelight to make room for younger artists. If event managers invite TikTokers, they should give them proper respect. An artist becomes bigger by giving space to others. You could have given her space. I would like seniors to be helpful. I can mention Vaneeza Ahmed, who always gave me space during ramp walks. She used to hold my hand and call me to the front. I have great respect for Vaneeza for her gracious gesture.” Here is the link to the video:

Danish Taimoor is undoubtedly one of the biggest Pakistani stars when it comes to television dramas. He is the only Pakistani actor whose more than five dramas have crossed the one-billion-view mark. In 2025, he delivered two back-to-back blockbusters, Mann Mast Malang and Sher, both of which have crossed one billion views. Currently, he is shooting for his upcoming project with his Deewangi and Jaan Nisar co-star Hiba Bukhari.
Hiba Bukhari and Yasir Hussain are two renowned Pakistani actors who recently defended Danish Taimoor at the Urdu Conference held in Karachi.
Responding to Abdullah Sultan’s criticism—“Danish Taimoor is doing the same kind of acting with the same get-up and clothes. What’s your take on this?”—Hiba Bukhari said, “Now that you have specified the actor, I would say every actor is known for different things. If we talk internationally, every actor is unique. Salman Khan has his signature style, Shahrukh Khan is Shahrukh Khan. I won’t say Salman Khan can play Irrfan Khan’s roles—he can’t, you know what I mean? If someone is doing it, producers are paying for it, and it is getting views, then what’s the issue?”
Yasir Hussain said, “People don’t want to see Danish Taimoor in poor or completely different characters. They want to see him as a rich, successful businessman who always gets what he loves. In Pakistan, very few are privileged to have that status, but it is a fantasy for people, and Danish Taimoor is fulfilling it. It works for both him and the audience. They will make him a superstar because he delivers what people want. He is doing a remarkable job. Is he mad not to choose characters that make him a star? Masses love him like this—it’s called a cult following, just like Salman Khan fans love him no matter what he does. The day Danish Taimoor changes his craft, his fans might switch to another actor.” Here is the link to the video:

Millions love Pakistani dramas for their relatable storytelling and natural acting, which appear genuine. A performance which looks like everyday life is far more impressive and leaves a more lasting impact. A good performance has the potential to elevate a mediocre script; a case in point is Momina Iqbal in Do Kinaray. She made that show a mega hit with her beautiful performance when the story was simply average.
At other times, actors either cannot deliver what is written on the page or bad direction and story make them deliver bad performances. A bad performance can ruin a good script. We all remember Ins e Yazdan’s character in a powerful script like Udaari. He was bad, and his scenes used to look unbearable.
The year 2025 also has its fair share of bad performances. Here is a list of the actors who could not impress:
Hira Mani (Dayan)
Hira Mani has been appearing in Pakistani dramas for a decade now. She has great talent, and she has shown her acting prowess in dramas like Kashf and Do Bol. She is currently impressing as Shazmeen in Sharpasand. But her acting in Dayan was extremely over the top. Her expressions were exaggerated, and her dialogue delivery looked unnatural. She is, in general, a natural actress, and maybe the director wanted her to overdo it. But it did not turn out to be very palatable.
Usman Peerzada (Dayan)
Usman Peerzada is a legend of Pakistani dramas. His polished screen presence, immense talent and clear dialogue delivery always add to a script’s strength. But what he was doing in Dayan is a question everyone was asking. He was a multi-talented doctor who had multiple specialities, then got involved in a criminal plot to help a girl he did not know. His in and out of Zawar Shah’s house was nothing short of magic. This was not Usman Peerzada’s best appearance, and frankly, this role could have been played by anyone else.
Imran Ashraf (Masoom)
Imran Ashraf is one Pakistani drama star who can either do it the best or make it cringe with an over-the-top performance. Masoom, which was lareday a copy, unfortunately fell into the second category. He is being too loud with the character. His chemistry with any of the other characters is not working because of his exaggerated expressions. Imran should have toned it down a bit, and his character might not have looked this jarring.
Ushna Shah (Aye Ishq e Junoon)
Ushna Shah is among the top actresses of Pakistani dramas. She has given some path-breaking performances in dramas like Balaa and Alif Allah Aur Insan, but lately, she has not been able to nail it. In Aye Ishq e Junoon, she played a lower-middle-class girl but had a Canadian English accent. Her hair and makeup did not match the story either, as she did not look as poor as she was shown to be. Additionally, with strong performances by Sheheryar Munawar and Shuja Asad, her weakness really stood out.
Feroze Khan (Humraaz)
Humraaz was one of the most highly anticipated dramas of 2025. With a stellar cast including Ayeza Khan, Zahid Ahmed and Feroze Khan, it was set to be a hit, but a loose script turned it into a major flop. Feroze Khan’s acting was also not up to the mark when he was playing one of the main drivers in the story. His acting was completely missing, and he was just focused on his looks, slow walks and AirPods. He can act as we have seen in shows like Khaani and Akhara, but he just completely missed the mark in Humraaz.
Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz (Agar Tum Saath Ho)
Zaviyar Naumna Ijaz is a young Pakistani actor. He has had hits and misses in his career, and his stint in Agar Tum Saath Ho was definitely a miss. The show was weird to say the least, but Zaviyar was the weakest performance-wise. Both his co-stars, Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani, tried to give their 100% despite the script being weak. Zaviyar’s dialogue delivery and expressions were both weak, and he was not able to bring in the required intensity.
Khushhal Khan (Biryani)
Khushhal Khan is slowly becoming a huge star of Pakistani dramas. Though he is young but his performance seriously faltered in Biryani. He was styled well, the story was largely okay, but Khushhal’s dialogue delivery has put him on the list. Many times, fans were seen complaining about how he half-eats his words and mumbles them, making it harder to understand his lines. He is a fine actor otherwise and just needs to work on this.
Nabeel Zafar (Sher)
Sher was arguably the most successful Pakistani drama of 2025. Nabeel Zafar appeared as Dr Fajar’s father on the show, and his role was emotionally intense. However, fans were not able to shake how his performance was not up to the mark. A lot of times, his expressions reminded fans of Nabeel from Bulbulay, which was a failure.
Hiba Bukhari (Main Zameen Tu Aasman)
Hiba Bukhari made her Pakistani drama comeback after her baby girl in Main Zameen Tu Aasman. She is a good actress, but in this show, she seemed to be having problems. Her character is that of a very young girl, and Hiba made it a bit too chirpy and out there.
Amar Khan (Dil e Nadan)
Amar Khan made a strong debut in Pakistani dramas in Belapur Ki Dayan. She knows how to act, but it did not look that way in Dil e Nadan. She chose to play a character dumber than the dumbest and then played it in the worst way possible. Dil e Nadan was hard to watch, and Amar Khan has to choose something good next to showcase her talent.

Navin Waqar is a renowned Pakistani television actor who gained timeless recognition through her role as Sara in the immensely popular TV serial Humsafar. She has also been part of several other hit drama serials, including Saya e Deewar Bhi Nahi, Paristan, and 101 Talaqain, where fans admired her acting skills. Navin Waqar is currently receiving praise for her drama series Case No. 9, which is gaining popularity among television viewers.
Navin Waqar recently appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show, where she discussed playing Manish in Case No. 9.
Talking about it, Navin Waqar said, “These two characters were incorporated into the story because we have Hindu friends who were never represented. Inclusivity matters, and it should be shown that they are part of our society. The blasphemy issue that was depicted in the drama does happen here. We have different communities, and we should feature them. Initially, I faced objections about taking on this role.”
Discussing her portrayal of Manisha, she said, “It’s not a stereotypical couple who wears sindoor and sarees all the time, because the people I know do these activities only during festivals or at home. I adapted what I saw in Pakistan, and I have to say whatever I did, I did it responsibly. I had to be careful; I didn’t want to offend anyone. Thankfully, I am receiving a great response from the Hindu community.”
Regarding Case No. 9, she shared, “I got Wajahat’s call and asked for the script. He told me that the character is small and that we have an ensemble cast, but every character plays a strong part. Then he narrated Manisha’s character to me—she belongs to a minority community and is an empowering character. After reading it, I knew I wanted to do it. Once I heard about the cast, there was no question of refusing. I am proud to be part of it.”
About Manisha, she said, “Manisha is a strong character. She can’t live with a man who has witnessed crime and ignored it. She is someone who can’t tolerate injustice—she is blunt and takes action. She can’t ignore her husband’s flaws or remain silent about incidents affecting multiple lives. I love that all the women in this drama are strong. All the female characters, including Kiran, Manisha, the lawyer, and the mother, are shown as powerful.”

A few years ago, Angeline Malik was diagnosed with cancer. She shared her journey with her fans and has now updated them with the good news of being cancer-free. She also opened up about her fear of the disease returning.
She wrote, “Clear scan, but the fight isn’t over. One good day at a time, one scan at a time. Stronger than yesterday, still scared about tomorrow. I’ve made it this far, but it isn’t finished yet. This is hope, this is fear, this is life after cancer. Survival isn’t a moment; it’s a lifelong commitment. Behind this smile are courage, trauma, and a thousand untold battles. Not cancer-free forever, but just cancer-free for now. Clear scan, but the fight isn’t over.”
She further added, “A clear scan is a victory, but the journey continues. Medically, it takes 2 to 5 years of clean scans to be declared cancer-free—sometimes even 10. So yes, I am cancer-free for now, for today, but the journey is far from over. Some days bring hope, some bring fear, but I face them all with courage. Grateful for today, ready for tomorrow, and never giving up.”
Fans, friends and colleagues are extending best wishes and prayers to Angeline Malik and many are praising her courage and strength. A fan wrote, “More power to you”. One fan wrote, “My fighter doll. MashaAllah”. Read a few comments:

Hosted by Ayesha Omar, it was filmed at a villa in Turkey and features Pakistani male and female contestants in relationships. The show’s format involves men and women living in the same mansion, interacting to form relationships, discussing their partners with others, and participating in various activities. This format has sparked severe public backlash in Pakistan, though viewers remain curious about Lazawal Ishq.
Recently, Pakistani actress Memoona Quddus, who went viral for her casting couch statements, joined Lazawal Ishq and also found her partner on the show. She then said, ‘If my husband were to die today, I would be the happiest person and would even thank God for it.’ I asked her whether she could manage life on her own or handle her finances independently. She replied that she could not separate from her husband because she was dependent on him. I then advised her to emotionally detach while staying in the same house and to give each other space. She followed my advice and later told me that things improved. She revealed that she has now started talking to her husband again, and they spend time together watching TV and doing other activities.” Here is the link to the video:
Christmas is the Christian community’s major annual festival, celebrated on 25th December to mark the birth of Hazrat Isa (Jesus), AS. It is observed as a religious holiday, and Christians follow traditions such as decorating Christmas trees, exchanging gifts, preparing festive meals, and portraying Santa Claus as a symbol of generosity who brings gifts for children.
Pakistani Christians also observe Christmas with great enthusiasm and zeal. Not only Christians, but many Muslims also share Christmas wishes and posts in solidarity. This year, several Pakistani Christian celebrities are enjoying the Christmas holiday, including Sunita Marshall, Benita David, Janice Tessa, Azekah Daniel, and Rachel Gill. A few Muslim celebrities also celebrated Christmas, including Ayesha Omar, Nawal Saeed, Zubab Rana, and Amar Khan. Here are some clicks of the stars celebrating Christmas 2025:
Pakistani dramas bring realistic story lines, and fans love to watch them for the love and simplicity shown on screens. Another thing which makes these stories a hit is the chemistry between the lead actors. The main hero and heroine of a drama carry it on their shoulders. Their chemistry at times makes a very average show into a mega hit.
But other times, you look at a lead couple and ask why they were cast together. The actors are not gelling well, and the characters are not suiting them. All of this combined can turn a great show into a flop and even bring more criticism to already flopped stories. Here are the worst pairings of Pakistani dramas in 2025.
Have a look:
Wahaj Ali & Maya Ali (Sunn Mere Dil)
Wahaj Ali and Maya Ali are two superstars of Pakistani dramas. They lit the screen on fire when they appeared together in Jo Bichar Gaye. They are also best friends in real life, and they can channel that comfort onto the screens. However, casting them together in Sunn Mere Dil turned out to be a disaster. The chemistry was just not there, and fans actually did not want to see the two together at all. The only time they could bring romance on screen was in the last 5 minutes of the last episode.
Faysal Quraishi & Hina Afridi (Raaja Rani)
Faysal Quraishi and Hina Afridi made another on-screen couple this year, which was questioned left, right and centre. Hina has just started in Pakistani dramas, while Faysal is an established superstar. Their age gap is what made people criticise the duo. Though Faysal at the time explained how the age gap was a demand of the script, and it was true, but fans just could not see such a big gap between the ages of the two lead stars.
Azaan Sami Khan & Kubra Khan (Meri Tanhai)
Another pairing in Pakistani dramas 2025, which just did not click with the audience, was Azaan Sami Khan and Kubra Khan in Meri Tanhai. The stars appeared in a rather experimental show as it was shot abroad. The actors, however, did not look comfortable together on-screen. They looked very out of place and were doing too much. Not a great idea to pair them together, and the story did not help their chemistry either.
Sheheryar Munawar & Ushna Shah (Aye Ishq e Junoon)
Aye Ishq e Junoon was a successful Pakistani drama of 2025 and recorded some of the best acting performances of the year. However, the lead couple’s chemistry just did not work, and it was all due to bad acting by Ushna Shah. Sheheryar Munawar played his part well, and he did bring magic on screen, but Ushna just could not keep up and annoyed everyone.
Feroze Khan and Durefishan Saleem came together in the highly anticipated drama Sanwal Yaar Piya. They don’t look half bad together. However, what did not work in their chemistry is Mr Sanwal himself, aka Ahmed Ali Akbar. He has just brought the kind of style and romance on screen that Feroze and Dure are not working together. Fans want Piya to end up with Sanwal, and this has destroyed the chemistry between her and Aliyar.
Mikaal Zulfiqar & Amar Khan (Dil e Nadan)
Mikaal Zulfiqar and Amar Khan starred together in Dil e Nadan. Dil e Nadan was a Pakistani drama where nothing seemed to work. From the story to the direction and performances, everything was highly criticised. The lead couple’s chemistry also fell in the same category. With how childish and dumb Amar’s character was and how Mikaal’s character just kept being toxic throughout, no one wanted to see them together by the end of the show.
Humayun Saeed & Sajal Aly (Main Manto Nahi Hoon)
Main Manto Nahi Hoon is a classic case of a great drama ending on the worst possible note. Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly are two big names of the Pakistani drama industry. They performed well in what was written for their characters, but saying yes to portraying a love relationship between a teacher and a student with a 20-year age difference was both unacceptable and disgusting. They had the worst chemistry on screen, and watching them together gave everyone the creeps.
Mawra Hocane & Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz (Agar Tum Saath Ho)
Mawra Hocane starred in a love triangle with Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz and her now-husband, Ameer Gilani, in the Pakistani drama “Agar Tum Saath Ho.” The show ultimately became a major flop. Mawra and Zaviyar’s chemistry did not work either. Zaviyar was supposed to be this intense man with an obsessive love for Mawra’s character, but that just did not happen at all.
Farhan Saeed & Kinza Hashmi (Shirin Farhad)
Farhan Saeed is known to be the romance king of Pakistani dramas, and his pairings with all his co-stars have always been appreciated. It did not work with Kinza Hashmi, though. The duo portrayed the love story set in old Lollywood. The show looked promising initially, but the dull story probably did not help the duo, and fans were not in love with the two of them.
Imran Ashraf & Sonya Hussyn (Masoom)
Imran Ashraf and Sonya Hussyn joined forces for the Pakistani drama Masoom. Viewers were quick to notice the similarities between this drama and Woh 7 Din, the Bollywood movie. What did not work here was the exaggerated acting of Imran, and honestly, the complete lack of chemistry with Sonya. They do not look likeable together, and fans are not rooting for them at all. The show is among the worst on-screen dramas right now, and the lead stars have not worked their chemistry either.
