When Irshad Bhatti asked, “Did none of your friends come to help you despite you being a big name?” Ducky Bhai responded by explaining that many people did try to help him. He said that his friend Moeez Bhai initially tried to support his family and even visited the NCCI office when they summoned Aroob. During that visit, Aroob’s phone was confiscated, and she was subjected to investigation. After realizing the injustice being done, Moeez Bhai backed off.
He further shared that Nadeem Naniwala also came to help. While outside the NCCIA office, Nadeem’s driver was recording a video when an FIA official confiscated his phone. Ducky briefly spoke to Nadeem, who said he had arrived that day from the UK and came to see him. Nadeem was taken inside along with lawyers and made to sit in another room. Later, Ducky was informed that his friend’s phone had been seized. When Ducky was taken to Nadeem’s room, Nadeem was sent out, and officials questioned Ducky about the purpose of Nadeem’s visit, which Ducky claimed he was unaware of. As Ducky was leaving the office, he overheard officials saying that the “victim came to us himself,” and at that moment, he realized what they intended to do with Nadeem.
Ducky further added that Nadeem came to meet him after an hour with an investigating officer and lawyers, and upon their request, Nadeem was allowed to meet him. Nadeem told Ducky that they were doing efforts to send him to judicial custody but Ducky explained the reality of NCCIA. Nadeem’s phone was kept, there was no FIR on him but they opened an inquiry against him simply because he had just come to meet Ducky. Nadeem narrowly escaped serious trouble. Ducky emphasized that despite all the hurdles, people did try their best to help him.
Ducky Bhai’s brother also added that Areeb Pervaiz, the husband of Iqra Kanwal, tried to help Ducky as well. He also said that they didn’t want to burden Areeb and Iqra because they were expecting their baby but despite that Areeb held meetings with several influential individuals who had links with generals, but he was also scammed. Areeb reportedly gave an iPhone to unknown individuals in hopes of securing Ducky’s release. Later, through an investigation conducted by Big Brother, it was revealed that these individuals were exploiting Areeb under the pretext of helping with Ducky’s release. Ducky Bhai further added that his family was also under threat.
Speaking about the lack of transparency at the NCCI office, Ducky Bhai questioned why there were no cameras installed there. He stated that it was not surprising, as torture allegedly takes place inside. He said that audio and video cameras should be installed in all areas. He pointed out that when people came to meet him at the additional office, there were no cameras. The inquiry room, deputy director’s room, kitchen, and forensic lab also had no cameras. He alleged that they don’t install cameras because injustices occur there, extortion is taken, and forced statements are recorded.
