Pakistan Idol is the Pakistani version of the global Idol franchise. It had its first season years ago and then we found out about a second season to air soon on multiple channels. It brought some major singing talent to the forefront and we got to see many new and talented singers shining in every episode of the show.
The show ran into controversy soon enough as many big singers were not willing to give rights of their songs for the show. Pakistan Idol then suddenly shut down in the middle and they cited Pakistani economy’s bad health and Iran-USA war as the reason. However, it turned out that the show’s management was messy and they had not cleared the payments of many vendors. A photographer even went to court against them. But fans wanted the show to have a finale and it is now back after months long delay.

Yesterday, heartbreaking news of an 18-month-old baby girl’s tragedy broke the internet. A minor, 18 months old, was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old in Qayyumabad, Karachi. The young boy, who was a relative, allegedly took the child outside on the pretext of taking her for a walk and sexually assaulted her. The child was brought back in deteriorating condition, after which the little girl lost her life during treatment. According to the medical report, she had allegedly been subjected to sexual assault. Police arrested the suspect from his home, and further investigation is underway.
Today, the little baby girl’s mother shared the heartbreaking details of what happened to her child while crying.
The mother said, “I just came from my job at 3, after which I took my daughter to the market. She ate food, after which I had to go to the neighbour for something important. This guy, Manan, who is the grandson of my Phupho and has no father or mother, also used to come to our house for around 1.5 years. I used to trust him because he used to care for my kid too. He came and took my daughter for a walk, as he used to do that. After he brought my child back to her Khala, she was unconscious. When I reached home, my sister told me that Aizal was vomiting. I took her to a clinic. The doctor said she had been vomiting, maybe because she ate stale milk. I came home and gave her ORS, after which she slept. When I changed her diaper, she was bleeding. She was not responding, and her heartbeat had stopped, her lips turned black. I told everyone to take her to the hospital, but no one came to her. I took her hospital by myself, I don’t live with my husband. No one came to the janaza. My Phupho didn’t come. She was just 1.5 years old. She had a post-mortem, and her bones were broken. Nadia Khan said, “It looked like the ‘Bahu’ title won in the drama, and her career as a doctor was over. We didn’t get any conclusion to the character Sania. What happened to her? Did she complete her studies or residency? Did she pursue her career or not? What message has it given to girls becoming doctors? It was a message that everything is over after marriage for girls. It happens like that in real life, but if the drama gives the same message, it’s wrong. The message should have been that despite everything, she should have become a doctor. Not telling us whether Sania was pursuing her career as a doctor was a negative point. They didn’t even give a proper ending to Minna. Did they show that she went into depression and regretted her failed marriage? She should have been shown as a woman who had happily moved on. Like Faizan was shown happy, which was a good thing, because it’s okay for two people who are not getting what they desire from a relationship to move on. There should have been more to it. I expected better from this writer, this team. The crux was missing, but otherwise, it was a great project. Thank you to the entire team for giving us a good project as we didn’t like reviewing any project after seeing Dr Bahu.”

A heartbreaking tragedy in Karachi has shaken the public. A 17-year-old boy, who was reportedly the cousin of the 1.5-year-old girl, allegedly took the child outside on the pretext of taking her for a walk and sexually assaulted her. The child was brought back in deteriorating condition, after which the little girl lost her life during treatment. According to the medical report, she had allegedly been subjected to sexual assault. Police arrested the suspect from his home, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has left the public deeply shocked and devastated. Aiman Khan, Mishi Khan, Ahsan Khan, Mariyam Nafees, and many other celebrities have condemned the heinous crime.
Mishi Khan has raised her voice and condemned the incident. She said, “God forbid, what’s happening. A 17-year-old neighbor took a 1.5-year-old to the market and subjected her to sexual assault. She was brought back in a deteriorated condition, after which she passed away. It’s unbelievable that such crimes are prevailing in our country just because there are no punishments for such criminals. Such criminals should be publicly punished and hanged. It is happening because there are no restrictions on porn content. I hope the Sindh government takes action on it.”
