Pakistan Idol is the Pakistani version of American Idol, a popular music reality show. Previously, The first season of Pakistan Idol premiered on Geo on 6 December 2013 and continued until 24 April 2014. The season 2 has brought back the globally acclaimed franchise to Pakistan. The first few episodes are based on the nationwide auditions, judged by Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Bilal Maqsood.
So far, the channels have aired six episodes of Pakistan Idol on the channels including Green Entertainment, Geo and PTV. The Karachi auditions featured exceptionally talented singers whose performances were loved by the judges. Clips from this week episodes are doing rounds on social media, and viewers are loving the incredible raw talent.
Sarafaz Ali
This week additions featured a talented Pakistani singer Sarafaz Ali who sang a difficult Ghazal Tere Bheege Badan ki Khushbo se, originally sung by the legendary Mehdi Hassan. Fans loved the performance.
Muhammad Ibrar
Muhammad Ibrar’s heartfelt performance of song Piya Mat Jana Pardes made judges emotional and teary-eyed. The performance collected excellent views in 24 hours and many loved the singer’s voice.
Tarab Nafees
A young and talented contestant Tarab Nafees beautifully sang classical ghazal Wo Mujh Se Huwe Hamkalam, originally sung by Naheed Akhtar.
Minaam
The young contestant Minaam stole the show with his gripping performance of Ghazal Ranjish Hi Sahi, originally sung by Ghazal king Mehdi Hassan.
Shahid Sonu
Shahid Sonu beautifully performed Punjabi classical song Sajna Raah Tera Tak Tak Hari Aan, originally sung by none other than madam Noor Jahan.
Waqar Hussain
Waqar Hussain sang a beautiful song Aik Main Howan Te originally sung by ace Pakistani Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali. His powerful vocals were loved by fans.
Zeeshan Ali
Zeeshan Ali perfectly sang Mehdi Hassan’s Ghazal Main Hosh Main Tha Toh Us Pe Mar Gaya Kaisay by Mehdi Hassan Khan.
Aryan
Aryan’s performance was also loved by fans with many said he’s giving Nabeel Shaukat Ali vibes. He sang Alamgir’s song Shaam Se Pehly Aana. Here is the link to the video:
