Petrol prices have come to shock the nation like 8.0 magnitude earthquake. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was seen saying that he will not increase the prices and the government will absorb the shock of supply chain restriction earlier. The petrol pries were already at an all time high and now another bomb has been dropped by the government despite assurances.
Pakistani government has hiked the petrol and diesel prices overnight to an all time high. The petrol per liter stands at 458 PKR while diesel is at 570 PKR. The nation is in shock while the economy is about to crash. Everything has become costly and middle class is shrinking to dangerous levels in the country.
Pakistani celebrities have also felt this shock as they are calling out such a huge increase in the oil prices. Omair Rana, Mishi Khan, Abu Aleeha and Khaled Anam are stars who are raising their voices against price hikes.
Khaled Anam said, “Fill karao is a line which will never be used for care tanks anymore.” Omair Rana shared satire that government could have increased 1000 rupees per liter but they only increased a 100.
