In recent years, incidents of rape, dacoity, murder, and kidnapping have surged across Pakistan. Just a few days ago, the Wafflix owner was killed by unidentified people, and an eight-month-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered—among numerous other cases reported at police stations nationwide. Today, another tragic incident surfaced in Gujranwala, where an eight-year-old girl was raped by unknown perpetrators.

According to reports, an eight-year-old girl in Feroze Wala Kala Khatai Gol Pind near Gujranwala was taken to nearby fields, where she was gang-raped. Hearing her cries, local residents rushed to the scene and intervened in time. Police have launched an investigation into the matter. The victim’s father gave an interview to news outlets, sharing his grief while trying to cover his daughter’s face; however, the media disregarded his privacy and broadcast the minor’s unblurred image on camera. The child was subsequently brought to the police station in critical condition, unable even to sit comfortably. Watch here:
Celebrities, including Amar Khan, Maya Khan, and Malik Aqeel, have expressed deep grief over the incident. The Pakistani public has reacted with intense sorrow and anger over yet another brutal crime against a minor. Online, commentators shared their heartbreak, with one user asking, “Should we stop giving birth to daughters?” Another questioned, “Is this why people buried their daughters alive 1,400 years ago?” A third asked, “When will we start severely punishing those who commit such heinous crimes against our children?” Many users tagged Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz in the comments, calling for immediate, decisive action against the perpetrators.
