Parveen Akbar is a senior Pakistani television actor and a former radio announcer. She has been part of the entertainment industry since 1969 and began her career at Radio Pakistan. Her notable TV shows include Siyani, Mere Hi Rehna, Ishq Jalebi, Yeh Zindagi Hai, Razia, Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai, Khoob Seerat, Zamani Manzil Ke Maskharay, Ready Steady Go, and others. Parveen Akbar is happily married and has a loving family. Her children, Faizan Sheikh and Rabya Kulsoom, are also actors. She often appears on morning shows and expresses her bold opinions about different media celebrities and her family members.
Parveen recently appeared on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa, which airs on Samaa TV. During the show, she opened up about the strict nature of her mother-in-law.
Talking about her strict mother-in-law, Parveen Akbar said, “We saw a great daughter-in-law in our mother. Mothers are usually their daughters’ ideals. So! just like my grandmother, my mother-in-law was also strict, she was a Punjaban—she was a bit clever, a typical Punjabi woman. But there are some things in marriage that you need to tolerate if you are a homemaker. She used to have issues over small things. For instance, when I admitted my elder son to first grade at the age of three, she created a fuss, asking why I had sent him to school so early. I used to explain things to her.
