Rajab Butt’s mother often appears in the media to respond to the criticism he receives for his controversial statements, inappropriate live conversations, and viral drunk videos. Recently, she revealed the “pious reason” behind his TikTok live sessions.
Rajab Butt’s mother said, “I allowed him to go live because he wanted to help the poor. I allowed him only for that cause. His intention was good. Thanks to Allah, I feel content with his fame and respect. We don’t play games — we have voice messages from people who received ration and money. He has even helped marry off multiple girls. I sent money this morning to orphaned children. I send money through Rajab’s friends, and they send me prayers. These prayers are what he needs.”
She further added, “When TikTok live started, I didn’t know what it was, honestly. My children introduced it to me. I immediately told them that we don’t need to beg online. Rajab said everyone is doing it. I told him even if the whole world is doing it, we won’t. Then he told me he would do it only for charity, so I allowed him. But I am shocked to hear the abusive words used by girls — it’s unbelievable. I have told him many times to stop going live. I have voice notes that I can show you. I was shocked to hear such abusive language; my ears felt like they were bleeding after hearing those slang words. He has promised me that he will stop once he returns to Pakistan.”
