Umera Ahmed is currently ruling the television screen with her hit serials like Aap Ki Izzat and Dar e Nijat, airing on Hum TV and ARY Digital at 8:00 pm slot on same day. Both the dramas are getting 10 Million plus views on each episode and are also garnering good trps. Besides that, both the serials are quite popular on social media and have become talk of the town. Aap Ki Izzat is directed by ace Pakistani director Saifee Hassan who is currently giving back to back interviews and also revealing the inside details regarding the hit project.
Recently, Saifee Hassan was the guest at Maliha Rehman’s YouTube show where he revealed Umera Ahmed didn’t want both dramas to air simultaneously.
Replying to Maliha Rehman’s question, “Umera Ahmed’s two dramas are airing simultaneously, didn’t it affect you? Saifee Hassan said, “Yes, her two shows are airing at the same time and both are superhit dramas but she didn’t want her dramas to air simultaneously. She even told me, ‘I didn’t want them to air Dar e Nijat while Aap Ki Izzat was already airing. I even tried to stop the Dar e Nijat team to air it on the same slot on Friday and Saturday because Aap Ki Izzat was shot earlier and was already airing”. I think ARY Digital didn’t have content and they also needed a hit show on weekend slot. When they aired, Umera called me saying that she tried a lot to stop them but they didn’t agree. I was quite worried that our drama would suffer due to Dar e Nijat because it’s a start studded mega budget serial but Alhamdulillah nothing happened to the success of Aap Ki Izzat, it’s running well.” Watch here:
