Sarmad Khoosat’s Zindagi Tamasha nominted for Kim Jiseok Award

Sarmad Khoosat recently dropped the trailer of his upcoming film Zindagi Tamasha and wowed the audience. The trailer offered an insight into the film, bringing across a myriad of emotions. Zindagi Tamasha came across as a film that would depict the dark secrets and double faced nature of this society and how it shuns the ones it condemns.

The film starring Arif Hasan, Samiya Mumtaz and Eman Suleman in pivotal roles is slated to release in Pakistan soon. However, before it can release all over in the country, Zindagi Tamasha, was slated to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. And now, as news has it, it has also been nominated for an award as well.

Sarmad Khoosat himself shared the news that Zindagi Tamasha, had been nominated for the Kim Jeosuk Award at the BIFF, even before its screening. The director, who will also be having a cameo role in the film, took to his Twitter to make the announcement.

The Kim Jiseok Award is a new award established in 2017 and aims at encouraging and discovering the growth and new talents of Asian Cinema. For the award, the jury will select two films from two sections, one offering a window on Asian cinema and other from the latest and most-talked films of Asian directors. The winning films will be awarded USD 10,000 each.

The official synopsis for Zindagi Tamasha reads,”(it is ) an intimate portrait of a family as well as a scorching political commentary on little gods on this earth who police our private passions.”

No Pakistan release date for Zindagi Tamasha has been confirmed as of yet.
