Hamid Rana is a senior Pakistani television and theater actor who rose to fame through his blockbuster PTV series Sona Chandi. His on-screen chemistry with co-actor Chandi, played by Sheeba Hassan, became an instant hit. Sona Chandi was written by Munnu Bhai, directed by Shahzad Khalil, and became one of PTV’s most-watched dramas. His other notable TV plays include Ya Naseeb Clinic and Girja. Besides acting, Hamid Rana also served in Pakistan’s government services.
Recently, Hamid Rana Appeared in Mazaaqraat, hosted by Imran Ashraf. In the show, he revealed his love for his co-star Sheeba Hassan who played Chaandi.
Talking about his unfulfilled love, Hamid Rana said, “When I first saw Sheeba, she arrived in a boski dress with long hair, I instantly liked her. I thought that she should be in dramas.
He further elaborated, “First you love someone, then you start liking them and when you can’t have access to them, they become your passion. She became my love because she was unavailable. No true love in life has ever met its destination. Sassi Punno, Heer Ranjha, Laila Mahnoor, all were incomplete. We couldn’t marry because we don’t have that temperament of husband & wife. She did everything in life after taking my advice, but never married me. In fact, I refused to marry her. I asked her, ‘You want to be a villain or hero in our story?, she said, “I want to be a hero’ I couldn’t marry her because I had wife kids, who could talk bad about her afterwards, we still love each other. It was a great decision for all of us. Once we fought so badly, she was driving the car when she asked me to get out of the car, I stood right in front of her car, she then allowed me to sit again, it was the moment I began crying.
