The incident surfaced online when the former TV host was returning from Malaysia with his family. A video of Iqrar is widely circulating on social media which shows him arguing with and shouting at airport security personnel regarding his political affiliation. The clip quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion across digital platforms. Multiple actors, influencers and social media users are discussing it with a majority criticizing him.

While giving advice to Iqrar ul Hassan, Shamoon Abbasi said, “Let’s assess the ongoing controversy surrounding Iqrar ul Hassan. Obviously, we all live in this country so we are all watching his videos on social media. Now, Iqrar, you are like a younger brother to me. If this video reaches you, remember that I personally respect what you have done in the past—the bravery you showed while exposing corruption and other issues in our country. The way you exposed mafias takes a lot of hard work, and you have to put yourself at great risk during that process. For that, I have great respect for you, and I always will. But my brother, you should have dealt with this situation differently. Whatever that person said to you, you should have shown patience, especially since you are now talking about becoming a leader for 250 million people. Within those 250 million people, patience has already worn thin, and there is a lot of polarization. We are criticizing each other every day. Some people support one leader, while others support someone else—these are the issues. You should have simply made a video of the situation. You could have asked him to repeat his words on camera—he either would have done so or refused. You could have smiled, included him in your video with kindness, and said, ‘My friend, as a leader, I will try to one day make a place for myself in your heart. I will work to meet your expectations so that tomorrow you, your family, your acquaintances, and your friends can raise your voices for me or vote for me.
