Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should not be skipped as it can keep you energized throughout the day. Most people associate boring meals with breakfast but it can be really fun and you can try out various dishes for the most essential meal of the day. Here’s a list of simple yet fulfilling foods you can have in the morning:
Coffee and croissant
Freshly brewed coffee with a buttery croissant is the perfect meal to start an energetic day ahead. Croissants can also be sweet based such as chocolate or be layered with jams such as strawberry, apple, etc. If you’re not a fan of black coffee, you can add some milk to it for the perfect milky beverage.
Pancakes
Milky, eggy and buttery; pancakes are every kids favorites. Top them with maple syrup, chocolate, add some fruits and have them with a glass of juice or a hot drink. They are so super easy to make as they don’t require much ingredients.
Crêpes
Crêpes are a type of thin pancake, they can either be eaten savory or sweet. Isn’t that just the best part about them? Top your sweet crêpes with fruits, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and chow it down like no tomorrow. If you’re craving a savory crêpe, there are a variety of options you can opt for such as a chicken crêpe or one filled with an egg mixture.
Greek yogurt with various flavorful ingredients
Greek yogurt is an excellent source of calcium which can help improve bone health. There are a number of ingredients you can mix with Greek yogurt to make it a fun and exciting breakfast meal such as fruits, oats, s’mores, nuts and so on.
French toast
This bread based breakfast consists of sliced bread soaked in eggs and milk and then fried. Kids love french toast especially if it is accompanied by some delicious chocolate. An easy no fuss breakfast which takes only minutes to make, french toast can also be accompanied by maple syrup, fruits, etc.
Shakshouka
A traditional shakshuka recipe is basically eggs poached in a spiced tomato and green pepper stew with onions and garlic, mince can also be added to the recipe. It can either be eaten with a spoon or with freshly toasted bread or some warm pita bread.
Eggs Benedict
One of my favorite breakfast dishes is Eggs benedict. Poached eggs served with turkey bacon and salmon sitting on an English muffin topped with Hollandaise sauce. This dish goes best with a crunchy hash brown on the side.
Waffles and fish fingers
Fancy some seafood in breakfast? Make yourself some potato waffles accompanied by fish fingers and peas. You can also accompany this English style breakfast with warm spaghetti.
Avocado on toast
A really light and healthy breakfast, Avocado toast is made with mashed avocado and salt, pepper and citrus juice squeezed on top. You can also add olive oil, hummus, feta cheese or tomato and many other toppings to give the taste a twist.
