Sohail Ahmed is a versatile Pakistani host, actor, and comedian who has recently made headlines for one of his Eid shows on Dunya News, where he spoke against Imran Khan, after which he faced severe public backlash. Many demanded his boycott, and several social media users reshared one of his old controversial clips in which Sohail Ahmed said something objectionable.

After the circulation of the viral clip, Sohail Ahmed released a clarification video explaining what he meant when he compared the popularity of both Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) and Yazeed.

In his clarification statement, Sohail Ahmed said, “A clip of me from a function is deliberately being circulated on social media where I was seen saying that both Hussain (R.A.) and Yazeed were equally popular. Yes, it is another story that one is respected and the other is cursed, but it didn’t mean that you should stand with Yazeed. I was requesting the kids to stand with the Hussaini caravan so that people will remember you for good deeds. Now such clips are being made viral deliberately for the sake of politics—don’t do that. They are trying to tarnish my image. Don’t use religion. I can give my life for Hazrat Imam Hussain; my children and I can sacrifice our lives for it. Have fear of God, please. Watch here:
Previously, in an event Sohail Ahmed said, “It isn’t a big deal to be popular, you can get popularity in any way like a girl has recently gotten fame after doing a slow motion dance. What is popularity? Hussain R.A & Yazeed were equally popular.”
Social media users are coming with angry comments against Sohail Ahmed with many saying he should not have drawn this comparison in first place because Hazrat Imam Hussain RA is very renowned, popular islamic leader while Yazeed is notorious who mercilessly killed innocent Muslims who stood for their rights.
