Sultana Siddiqui is the owner of HUM TV Network and one of the pioneers of PTV. She has produced countless television classics. She began her career as a music show producer, after which she produced the Sindhi culture-based drama Marvi, which paved the way for her career as a drama producer.
Sultana Siddiqui is a strong advocate of women’s empowerment. She has always encouraged her daughters-in-law to take the lead and has even named major production houses, Moomal Entertainment and MD Productions, after them.
Recently, Sultana Siddiqui appeared on Misbah Khalid’s podcast, The Light Within. During the podcast, she opened up about empowering her daughters-in-law by giving them ownership of production houses.
Sultana Siddiqui said, “I never thought that it is bad to empower women. You know, when I opened production houses, I named them after my daughters-in-law. When Moomal got married, I opened Moomal Entertainment and gave it to her. When Momina got married, I opened MD Productions and gave it to Momina. Momina was a business graduate. She didn’t even want to work in the beginning, but when she saw the environment, she took on the task of changing people’s mindsets. Momina said to me, ‘Ammi, I joined it because I want to educate people through content.’ We made dramas like Dastaan. We revived our drama industry when people were watching Indian Star Plus shows. Even initially, it was difficult to attract sponsorships. It was the revival time of Pakistani dramas. You were also part of Mere Paas Paas.” Watch here:
