Tapish is a hit Geo TV drama series produced by Irum Binte Shahid. The drama was written by Rehana Aftab and directed by Ahmed Bhatti. The plot revolves around a wealthy, spoiled young man who falls in love with an innocent, poor girl and marries her. However, she later takes revenge on him by refusing to accept him as her husband.
Tapish recently ended this week with a sad ending, where Shahzar, played by Muneeb Butt, died after being shot by Munim Butt. His wife Shifa and her son were left alone. The ending received huge public backlash, with many viewers saying that they ruined a good drama through the worst ending.
After the sad ending, Tapish writer Rehana Aftab called out producer Irum Binte Shahid for changing the drama series’ ending.
Rehana Aftab wrote, “The drama makers should add a new disclaimer with the promo that the story doesn’t belong to the writer and all the unnecessary additions are made by us.”
She further added, “Whoever wants to change the writer’s story should make a drama on their own script. Don’t ditch the writers. They use a writer’s dialogues, scenes, and situations but end up changing the story. They show a criminal hero by giving him death and glorifying his crimes. I didn’t add the villain’s suicide in the script at all. You do all the criminal acts and…”
She also wrote in Urdu, “جس کسی کو ڈرامہ اپنے مطابق ختم کرنا ہو… اسے اپنے لکھے ہوئے اسکرپٹ پہ کام کرنا چاہیے رائٹر کو ڈچ مت کریں

Social media users are saying that they felt the ending was off. One wrote, “I knew something was wrong with the ending. It was so useless.” Another wrote, “I also thought that the writing had been changed.” Another said, “Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is the best because no one can touch his storyline.
