Yasir Hussain and his nose for controversy is nothing new. The actor always makes a controversial statement and lands in hot waters with his audience. His sense of humor is often questioned and his sarcasm looked over, usually not understood by Pakistanis.
However, one stance that Yasir Hussain has commendably maintained over the years is him being against whitening creams and face washes. After a big debate issued in Pakistan, over Zara Noor Abbas’s endorsement of a whitening cream and her stance about “Black Lives Matter,” Pakistani social media erupted. People called out Zara for her double standards while a number of Pakistani actresses/celebrities came out stating how they had never ever supported a fairness cream or a skin lightening brand.
This time, Yasir Hussain took to his social media, questioning and asking his followers about letting go of whitening creams, and face washes all together.
“Pakistan should be the first country that bans fairness creams, face washes. We as a nation can at least do this one thing. What do you say,” questioned Yasir on his social media.
The actor then also held a pole asking his followers the same thing.
Yasir Hussain had earlier commended wife Iqra Aziz, for having rejected endorsement of whitening creams. A feat, that would otherwise have paid her a whole lot of money.
What do you think about Yasir Hussain’s stance regarding fairness creams. Will a ban remove the stigma of fairness from our society? Or is it too deep rooted for us to even change even the smallest thing?
