When civil courts fail us, we look towards the military courts. The past records have proved them more effective, after all.
Sindh government has decided to send 10 cases of terrorism to the military courts. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the home secretary.
The case of the murder of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri will be sent to the military court.
Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Karachi on 22 June 2016, after unknown assailants fired at his vehicle in Liaquatabad area of the city.
Sabri is credited with making the qawwali musical style that attracted even the Pakistani youth. He was a sought-after performer for large-scale events in Pakistan and had become a regular in several Ramazan transmissions. He was due to appear on the 9th season of Coke Studio but his untimely death didn’t allow him so. No one can argue that he was one of the greatest qawwals of all time and that we all want to know who was behind this vile act.
