There are many factors that can make a drama hit including a good chemistry between the leading pair, good cinematography and a good storyline but not all hit dramas can boast these virtues. Many a times, dramas keep getting millions of views though they are absurd or controversial but every season, there are Pakistani dramas that are the best in many aspects and summer 2024 has also seen the comeback of some of the biggest stars on television. Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Zard Patton Ka Bunn is a very important drama airing on Hum TV on Sundays. The drama boasts stars like Sajal Aly, Ali Tahir, Rehan Sheikh, Samiya Mumtaz, Hamza Sohail and Mohammad Ahmed. Written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan, Zard Patton Ka Bunn is a must-watch not for the lead stars or the team behind it but the messages it is imparting. It does not get preachy or too dark to swallow but it has still managed to show the urban centers what the rural areas of Pakistan are going through. Zard Patton ka Bunn is one of the best offerings this season and should be watched for great performances and an even greater storyline.
Mann Jogi
Mann Jogi is yet another Hum TV offering and it is helmed by Sultana Siddiqui herself as a producer. The team bringing Mann Jogi to the screens includes Kashif Nisar as the director and Zafar Mairaj as the writer. This team has given us Kabli Pulao recently. Mann Jogi has a powerful cast including Sabeena Farooq, Bilal Abbas Khan, Gohar Rasheed and Asma Abbas. The story shows how the concept of Halala is misused by Muslims and the impacts it has on women and society in large.
Jafaa
Jafaa is directed by Danish Nawaz and written by Samira Fazal. One of the main attractions for Jaffa were the fresh pairings of Sehar Khan, Usman Mukhtar, Mawra Hocane and Mohib Mirza. The drama explores the themes of past traumas and how they affect us all our lives if left unhealed. Jafaa also shines light on how youngsters take infatuation for love and parents need to handle it with sensitivity and not push them to extremes. The performances and the story are making Jafaa a must-watch this season. Sehar Khan and Usman Mukhtar are attracting the younger audience to this play.
Jaan Se Pyara Juni
Jaan Se Pyara Juni on Hum TV is another good drama this season. A simple story that has been beautifully screened with Zahid Ahmed, Mamya Shajaffar and Hira Mani in the cast. Written by Aliya Bukhari and directed by Meer Sikandar, Jaan Se Pyara Juni is presented in such a way that it simply attracts the audience towards itself. All the actors have performed well with Zahid Ahmed and Hira Mani being the absolute best. Jaan Se Pyara Juni is a must-watch this season and it will keep you hooked.
Noor Jahan
Noor Jahan is basically watching Pakistani politics within a household and it has turned out to be a chartbuster for ARY Digital. The drama is written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and directed by Musaddiq Malik. It has a huge cast with Saba Hameed and Kubra Khan carrying the plot as the two powerful Noors. Another standout performance is by Alina Abbas Shah as Safina and many people are able to relate to the toxicities being portrayed in Noor Jahan. Noor Jahan’s pace is also great and it is keeping the audience hooked.
Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum marks the comeback of Fahad Mustafa on television. The drama has a huge cast including Fahad Mustafa, Hania Aamir, Emad Irfani, Javed Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, Naeema Butt and Maya Khan among others. It is doing well on TRP charts and people are falling in love with Mustafa and Sharjeena. It is also focusing on how parents favour children who are more successful and ignore the sincerity of the less successful ones. Kabhi Main Kbahi Tum is not too old on television yet but it has set the pace nicely and it is moving forward every week. Written by Farhat Ishtiaq and direced by Badar Mehmood it is a must-watch for sure.
Gentleman
Gentleman is Green TV’s offering and it marks the television comeback of Humayun Saeed after Mere Paas Tum Ho. Written by Khalil ur Rehmna Qamar and directed by Haisam Hussain, the drama has the added angle of gangsters amongst the usual Khalil ur Rehman Qamar dramatics. The cast is huge with Humayun Saeed, Yumna Zaidi, Adnan Siddiqui, Zahid Ahmed, Sohai Ali Abro, Ahmed Ali Butt, Saqib Sameer and others. Gentleman is getting good views on YouTube and Humayun-Yumna fans are loving the stars appearing in new and unique characters.
