Indian and Pakistani Punjab share a deep love and affection for each other, and many famous Indian journalists highlight the stories of the bond both sides share. Recently, Sheeba Aslam Fehmi, who is a renowned Indian writer and senior journalist, praised Pakistan in her podcast with her colleague Shiv Inder Singh, another famous, award-winning Indian journalist who has a deep love for Punjabi culture and a strong sense of mutual respect for both sides of Punjab.

In her podcast Kintu Parantu with Sheeba, Sheeba Aslam Fehmi said, “About Pakistan, it has never happened that any Indian who visited Pakistan spoke badly about it. On the contrary, they shared overwhelming stories of hospitality, love, and support. We have even heard from cricketers and celebrities that locals and shopkeepers there didn’t even take money from them.”

Shiv Inder Singh also said, “The same happened to me when I went to Pakistan in 2024. I didn’t buy much because I received two suitcases filled with gifts from local Pakistani friends. I got so many gifts that I had to buy another suitcase just for those extra gifts, and the local shopkeepers didn’t even charge me for the bag—they gave it to me for free although it was worth 2300 hundred rupees. I bought clothes for my wife, but the shopkeeper didn’t accept the money. Later, when I didn’t have the change he initially asked me to bring change but when he got to know that I was from Ludhiana, India, he took me to the counter, served me with the milkshake and shared his grandmother’s Partition stories for around 1.5 hours. He felt as if I was his family member. These stories should be told by Indians who visit Pakistan. I know that Pakistanis are fan of Indian actors, Indian films, our Punjabi film run in their cinemas. We share a mutual bond” Here is the link to the video:
