Floods in Pakistan have caused widespread devastation. A recent cloudburst in Buner, Swat triggered massive flash flooding in several areas of Swat. Around 450 people were swept away overnight following the cloudburst. Today, Swabi is also facing severe flooding after a recent cloudburst, a consequence of climate change. The weather department has predicted heavy rains in Punjab and Sindh, which may lead to further flooding.
In Swat, around 450 people lost their lives in the floods. However, a wise principal in Swat saved the lives of 900 children through his timely decision.
