The national flag of Pakistan was designed by Amir ud Kidwai and approved by the Constituent Assembly on 11th August 1947, just three days before independence of the country. The flag bears a simple yet elegant design with a crescent and star and just two colors. The major part of the flag is green which represents the Muslim majority in the country while the white part represents the minorities (Hindus, Sikhs, Christians) of the country.

The emblem of Pakistan was adopted in 1954 which represents Pakistan’s beliefs and cultural legacy. In the middle is a shield which represents Mughal cultural heritage and contains four various icons which show the major crops of the country. These include wheat, tea, jute, and cotton. On the top of the shield is the symbol of the star and crescent which represent our religion, Islam.

The shield is covered by a floral wreath of Jasmine which is the national flower of Pakistan. Lastly, underneath the shield is a scroll which reads “Iman, Ittehad, Tanzeem” which translates to “Faith, Unity and Discipline” which is a famous motto coined by the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The national anthem was initially composed and music was given by Ahmed Ghulam Ali Chagla in 1949 while a few years later in 1952, Hafeez Jalandhri penned down the lyrics in Persian. The national anthem of Pakistan was broadcasted on radio for the first time on 13th August 1954 while on 16th August 1954 the government formally announced the national anthem. Ahmed Rushdi and 10 other singers were part of the first official performance of the national anthem.

The mosque was designed by Vedat Dalokay, a Turkish architect and named after Shah Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz, late king of Saudi Arabia. The mosque was completed in 1986 and boasts of a capacity of 2 lakh people inside the grounds while the mosque can accomodate 74,000 worshippers.
