Recently, Ismat Zaidi appeared on Good Morning Pakistan. During the show, she opened up about her challenging married life, which included her husband’s second marriage and their divorce.
Talking about marriage, Ismat Zaidi said, “I got married at 19. My life was going well—yes, there were adjustment problems—but it went smoothly until I was 23, after which my husband opted for a second marriage. At that time, everything fell apart. I regained my strength because of my children, who were in their teens. I was somewhat prepared for his second marriage, but I didn’t expect him to leave us for the second woman. But it did happen. I tried not to react, but that became my weakness. It was my decision to be strong and after which people thought that I am heartless but only Allah knows”
She further said, “Now, I give strength to others. I urge young women to be strong. I advise girls to become stronger and also deal with the problems in a brave manner. The most important thing is education, which brings awareness into girls’ lives. We don’t need education just for jobs; we need it for life”
She further mentioned that when her husband divorced her, she was left financially abandoned, and it was her profession that saved her from financial difficulties.
