Pakistani humour and even the jokes made professionally by comedians have a wide variety of body shaming comments. There is a set standard of beauty for both men and women especially if you want to act as the main lead in different projects. One has to have a fair complexion but not too fair, the hair should be long but not too long, the leading ladies need to be thin but not too thin. And if someone goes against even one of the set standards they will be questioned, criticized or ridiculed. That is what Merub Ali has been going through.
Merub had shared in Mooroo’s podcast that she has been struggling a lot with her weight loss as she had a very bad year health wise and lost all her weight. She is now actively trying to gain it back but such things definitely take time. Merub has been called too thin many times and she has said before that she is thick skinned and the trolling does not bother her.
Merub has now a message for the haters. She has said that body shaming is not a joke and it many not bother her but others can read those comments and feel really bad about themselves. She also reminded everyone that she had a very bad health year which has caused her to lose weight. She asked all her followers to be always kind.
