A superstar actor, director and producer in his heydays, Ejaz Durrani remained active in Lollywood from 1956 to 1988, bidding farewell to the industry with Maula Baksh. The veteran, Pakistan’s first diamond jubilee hero in both Urdu and Punjabi films, passed away in Lahore on Monday morning, following a prolonged illness. He was 86 years old.
Lately Hina Durrani, daughter of late Ejaz Durrani took to her Instagram account to mourn the loss of their father. “My Magnificent Aba, the most honourable , kind hearted , empathetic , gifted & incredible in every way a human being should be. You excelled in every relationship in your life be it a son, brother, uncle, husband, father , grandfather & above all human being. You taught us that doing the right thing & being a good human came above all. My heart is broken & you take a piece of me with you but how I love you. Thank you for doing all that you did for me & all of us , we couldn’t have asked for a better father. I love you Aba for all eternity & I pray Allah pak keep you at peace in the highest ranks of Jannat. Yesterday all the people that came , the messages we all received spoke about how you had helped someone or the other at a time they needed it most. How they wouldn’t have been able to have excelled in their lives without that help & what a beautiful legacy & sadqa jaria your good deeds , quiet bravery & legacy of strength & goodness shall live on through all of us. Natasha Ali, grand daughter of late Ejaz Durrani also penned down a heartfelt note for her late Grand Father. “Beloved father, husband , son , brother , uncle , grandfather , friend & human Ejaz Durrani has left us today to rest peacefully in the heaven. Still the most handsome man & furthermore an outstanding human being. You did more for your family, friends & those in need than anyone I know. What a life lived. It breaks our heart to say goodbye but we find solace in the fact that we shall carry your legacy of goodness, kindness & quiet bravery forth for you. Because you always taught us that being kind & doing the right thing was always the most important thing in life. This is how I shall always remember you handsome, radiant with that irresistible smile. I love you Nana. I request you all to pray for his soul today and everyday. Till we meet again”, wrote Natasha.
