Yes, the crown of Morning Show Queen has been given to the pioneer of modern-day morning shows Nadia Khan while it has also been worn by the wedding weeks specialist Shaista Lodhi but when we talk about the longest reign in the morning show world, the crown belongs to Nida Yasir. Nida Yasir has been hosting Good Morning Pakistan since 2012, over a decade has passed and the show is still going strong. Love her or hate her, she will appear on your screens five days a week and she will bring all sorts of viral people, drama casts and social issue-based volunteers to your screens. But that is not how the show can run for five days a week and around 3 hours each day. That is possible mainly because of “FRIENDS OF GOOD MORNING PAKISTAN”.

So, the Freinds Of Good Morning Pakistan are stars that are regular guests on the show. You may not even be able to differentiate if it is the same show playing from last week sometimes if not for the distinction in their clothes. They are ever present and surprisingly authority on all topics from managing households to giving makeup tips. Well, I am not the one complaining as whatever they are doing is working for the show. So we would start with some “OLD FRIENDS” who have been carrying the show with Nida for ages:

Sadia Imam is actually pretty good at sharing her household totkas to shopping advice. She is present nearly every alternate day on the show and is a true friend to GMP. We have also occasionally seen her husband and daughter in the show.

From sharing her collections of clothes and shoes to sharing weight loss tips and much more, Amber Khan is also another loyal friend to the show and we see her many times within a month.

3. Kiran Khan:

A host herself, Kiran Khan has been a friend to GMP for ages and like her sister, she is always giving tips on the kitchen, styling and interior decoration on GMP.

4. Javeria Saud:

Javeria Saud is another GMP loyalist and what she loves sharing on the platform are her wedding stories. She often brings her husband Saud Qasmi with her on the show.

5. Munazzah Arif:

Munazzah Arif has been appearing on Good Morning Pakistan for ages and she is definitely another loyalist who comes during saas-bahu discussions.

6. Nadia Hussain:

His daughter Dua E Aamir also shared a long note in which she expressed her love for her father. Dua wrote, “Assalamlaikum everyone and Ramadan Mubarak. This year, Ramadan is going to be immensely difficult for my family and I. You all watched me grow up on television alongside my late father, Aamir Liaquat Hussain, so its extremely painful to come to terms with the fact that this Ramadan will be our first without him. The pain of losing a father is one that cannot be explained, but the pain of losing a father who was such a prominent figure in everyone’s lives is one that cannot be forgotten by anybody”

She further talked about her father’s services during the month of Ramadan, Dua wrote, “My father made it his duty, especially in Ramadan, to spread Islam and create a family culture of Ramadan in Pakistan, from iftari on television to spreading smiles in his gameshow. I hope this culture of joy, happiness and togetherness that my father spent most of his prime years creating has stuck with you all, and that you all will continue to carry these values within your families for all the Ramadans to come. I know in my heart that if my father was alive today, he would want nothing more than the spirit of Islam and the message of joy to persist throughout our nation”.

Dua further urged Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s fans to remember him in prayers and always spread positivity regarding him. This year we saw a devastating and heart-wrenching earthquake in Turkey and Syria. There were cities that were razed to the ground and thousands have lost their lives. We Pakistanis are familiar with how painful it can be as we have seen a similar tragedy in Pakistan in 2005 when half of our Kashmir was destroyed. A similar situation could have happened yesterday as a big earthquake ranging from 7.7 to 6.8 intensity hit different areas of Pakistan. there has been extensive damage to buildings in different areas where up to 9 people have lost their lives with around 100 injured.

We saw many of our celebrities tie the knot this year and the new couple in town are TikTokers Zarnab Fatima and Laraib Khalid. The duo had a very beautiful Nikkah ceremony and it was a star-studded event with many of other TikTok stars in attendance. Actor Danish Taimoor also dropped by to give the couple his blessings. They looked adorable together and happiness was oozing out of their pictures.

Zarnab and Laraib had both opted for gild as their colour and Zarnab was all decked up in a gold lehenga paired with traditional jewellery and eastern makeup while Laraib was wearing gold sherwani. Sar e Rah is a path-breaking drama which had so many lessons woven in just 6 episodes and we saw different characters coming up and shining in each role they were given. Muneeb Butt as Sarang was the one that stood out the most and his role as an intersex individual was appreciated by everyone. But at the same time, it caused a lot of controversy.

Maria B, the ace designer had come forward to share a clip of the drama and she had called Sar e Rah an agenda to sell trans identities in Pakistan. The scene starring Nabeel Zafar and the young Sarang stood out and caused a lot of backlash on social media.

Muneeb Butt had not really replied to the whole controversy and only said that Sarang was not a Trans but an intersex character. He has now replied to Maria B’s claim of Sar e Rah being an agenda and clarified his position in taking up that character.

Muneeb said that he is also a practising Muslim and he would not work on any agendas. If there was something wrong with the character, he would not have taken it up as his own family would not accept it, let alone the public. This is what he had to say:

2. Tumhare Husn Ke Naam:

This is another big one. Starring Saba Qamar and Imran Abbas, Tumhare Husn Ke Naam will be a poetic romance written by Sara Qayyum and directed by Saqib Khan.

3. Jindo:

A drama based in an underdeveloped area of Pakistan with the titular role played by Humaima Malick, Jindo is going to win hearts. Gohar Mumtaz will also be a part of Jindo and Humaima’s first look looks powerful. Hajra Yamin is also starring in the project.

4. College Gate:

So Fahim Burney is back in the director’s seat with all new young actors and seems like finally the new generation will have a drama based on college life and not just cousins dying to marry each other.

5. Jeevan Nagar:

This is going to be exciting for all those old Sohail Ahmed fans. He has wowed the nation once with his stage play Rabba Ishq Na Howay where he played an intersex character and bow he will be doing it again in the direction of maestro Kashif Nisar for television. 9. 22 Qadam:

Starring Wahaj Ali and Hareem Farooq, 22 Qadam is a story of a female cricketer rising through obstacles and excelling in the sport. A sports drama on our television? Definitely looking forward to it.

10. Nowroz:

PSL is a phenomenon that we wait every year for and it is a dose of pure entertainment for everyone. This year PSL 8 came with many high-scoring, high-voltage games and fans loved to watch the scores climbing and sixes flying out of the stadium. Everyone’s favourite franchise Lahore Qalandars ended up defending their title and the finale was a replay of PSL 7.
