Sania Saeed recently made an appearance in “G Sarkar”. In the show, Sania Saeed shared her stance on Bollywood banning Pakistani artists in India.

While answering Nauman Ijaz’s question that whether she agrees with this restriction or not Sania replied: “Not at all, especially the kind of circumstances we see in India now, it’s really disappointing because we used to think that in the whole region its a secular state where all sort of people lives together, where all sort of ideas gets a voice. It was the only state in this region and that rapid change is really disappointing. And it is true that artists should be exchanged. It has happened in the past that there were times when they had restrictions and when we had restrictions. Even when we had martial law, Mehdi Hassan Sahab used to go there, our poets used to go there. Madam Noor Jahan went there twice in that time period. And the way she was welcomed there. Our painters and sculptors used to go there a lot. The exchange of artists is a kind of diplomacy. We have so much to exchange. We have so many similarities and differences that we can learn from each other”

Pakistani dramas as well as Pakistani audience is evolving. People take notice of different storyline, nuances and incidents shown on the television screens and talk about things which they think are politically incorrect. Among many other things, stereotyping of different communities like Pashtuns having guns and Punjabis being loud is a normal practice. Sania Saeed’s on air drama Sang e Mah has also been criticized for stereotyping Pashtuns.

Another drama on Geo, Mere Humnasheen starring Hiba Bukhari and Ahsan Khan is also being accused of the same with heavy Pashto accents featured which do not sound natural or realistic.

Sania Saeed during interview with Something Haute shared her opinion regarding stereotyping and the public reaction. She said that stereotyping characters and making caricatures of them is a problem worldwide but speaking about Sang e Mah, she said that they have not stereotyped characters but done the opposite of it. For example they have shown Zarguna to be a very independent woman while Haji Marjan who is the chief is never shown doing anything violent. She further added that Pakistan is filled with stories and they have to bring them to screen. This time it as from KPK and next time could be from some place else.

“The journey as announcer started when I went to a agency who had PIA account. They used to record for them. One of my uncle used to work there, so he asked me to give a try in that agency. She said, “The first thing is to stop exploiting limited knowledge of your people and engage your audience with constructive talks.”

“I am not saying this is not happening as I don’t watch television but I do visit some things for education just to see what’s happening. It’s happening but there is no conscious effort however there should be conscious effort behind good work.”

She continued and said, “For single good play or single good talk, there are 5-7 non-constructive talks so the ratio is disproportional.”

“We need to organize the profession, we need unions and also structure the legal parts. We also need studios, equipment and we need a place where we can send our technical people for the training,” she added.

Talking about technical aspect, Sania Saeed shared, “For suppose if you go on Netflix, we cant reach there because of the technical aspect. Investment in infrastructure is important or else we will stand here. We need to invest in our people and in our structures.”

That’s why they don’t want to tell the story of a 35-year-old woman. There’s a problematic attitude toward women — they want her to retire at 35, when in reality, her story begins after that age. I’ve also never played my own age in my career. Even in my youth, I was made to play a mother’s role.”

Talking about the relationship between men and women and gender roles, she said, “Communication is the major issue — the lack of communication and interaction between men and women causes most of the problems. We were in Australia attending a festival — people were dancing and everyone was having fun. A friend asked me, ‘You always say there should be a friendly, constructive environment between men and women — what does that mean?’ I pointed to the festival and said, ‘This is what I mean. There are cultural norms here: you can’t touch anyone; even if a girl falls, you can’t touch her till the ambulance arrives. These norms are shaped by culture. You don’t invade others’ privacy or interfere while they’re doing their job. Let them be, let them have fun, and just be yourself.”

Talking about financial independence, she said, “Economic independence is very important for women — there’s no question about it. It means that women should have a talent or skill that can be monetized. When you look at the structure and fabric of society, decision-making power stems from financial independence. In the case of an accident or any mishap, a financially independent woman can stand on her own. But when she is dependent, the power to make decisions slips from her hands — she can’t even make choices for her own children. Economic independence brings knowledge and decision-making power because when you go out and meet people, you learn and grow. Women are complete, functioning human beings with abilities that need to be utilized — but instead, we keep them confined at home and because of this many women outside are facing problems, like on Afghanistan, there are no female doctors to serve.”

Woww, I was delighted to see Sania Saeed on the show. Sania Saeed is one of the most polished actresses and she plays every single character with perfection. The best thing about this episode was the introduction – I absolutely loved Sarmad’s heartfelt introduction. It’s amazing how Sarmad used to be a huge fan of Sania Saeed back when he was a kid and now he has not only worked with her in wonderful projects but he also got to invite her to his own show.

Be it a drama, film or in this case, cooking show, it’s always an absolute pleasure to see Sania Saeed on screen. I love how softspoken and thoughtful she is. “You have more creative control when you’re doing theater, and something like this would never be done on television. The TV serial is titled Piyari Bitto and has been written by Saji Gul .

“It’s about adoption and the relations we take for granted, Sania Shamshad is playing Bitto, Atiqa’s daughter who is adopted by her phupoo Sania Saeed.”

“Piyari Bitto is a very interesting project as my role in it has a lot of range and variation. There are three distinct looks for my role and the switchovers shall hopefully be very interesting for my fans,” said Atiqa Odho.

 “I’m excited about the project as it’s a strong family drama with a stellar cast. The mother-son duo who are spending time together and recovering watched papa’s match on-screen and had their bonding time. Sania shared a message on her Instagram and thanked her fans for all the love they have got. She said that this is the biggest match she had won while baby Izhaan was with her. This is the sweet message:

We are all super happy that the little bundle of joy is here all safe and sound. A lot of good wishes and love to the little one while the family is overwhelmed with the love and affection they have got!

She further added, “They are still ‘NORMAL’ human beings and are still allowed to live a normal life!! so pls take your heads out of your a** and think where exactly you came from too..your mother’s womb!! #ittakesallkindstomakethisworld #dumidiots too !!”

Sania Mirza was blessed with a baby boy and after that, she gained weight, however, after hard work she lost her weight.

In total, she lost 26 kgs after four months of hard work and dedication. From 89 kgs to 63 kgs, she did it.

In an interview, she talked about her weight loss journey and said, “I think if I was not an athlete then I would like to be healthy. Of course, my focus was on weight loss because I am an athlete and I had to go back to my job.”

“It’s important for me to be healthy. I am very focused and it is very important for me to be healthy not just on the outside its more from inside.”

She further said, “When I delivered Izhaan after that I felt unhealthy internally, so it’s my personality that I want to be healthy and it ha nothing to do with the athlete. I just want want to say this its important that you take 2-3 hours for yourself and exercise.”s

Sania Mirza went through a lot of changes and she shared, “I lost weight very fast but even if it’s slow it’s fine because it brings sanity to you. As a woman, when you conceive and deliver, your body and your mind go through a lot. So many things including hormones change in your body.”

Talking about postpartum depression, she said, “I didn’t go through post-partum depression because I started working out so early. I used to go on walks in the beginning. I believe its important to focus on yourself. After delivering baby your life doesn’t end but it has started.”

When Sania Mirza gained weight people criticized her a lot and threw mean comments on her.

Talking about trolls, she said, “Gosh! I realized people can be so mean. Most of them were women who were judgemental. It’s horrible when a woman who has gone through all this say such things. I feel sorry for them because they have the venomous thing in them to say such mean things.”

“At that time, those comments were hurting me because it’s not in my control that I am producing a child and gaining weight.”

Sania Mirza also shared, “During my pregnancy, I enjoyed a lot and I ate everything which I couldn’t eat on normal days.”
