Well, recently, the writer of Ishq Murshid, Abdul Khaliq Khan made an appearance in Something Haute’s show Haute Talk, hosted by Hassan Choudhary. In the show, he disclosed the names of male leads who were being considered for Shahmeer’s character by him.
Talking about it, he said, “there were many names in my mind because we wanted to have the popular actors for 8:00 pm slot because the hit actors get the attentions of the fans. We considered Ahad Raza Mir, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Wahaj Ali and Bilal Abbas for the main lead. Ahad Raza Mir asked for the complete script, which wasn’t possible. Hamza Ali Abbasi was busy with Jaan E Jahan, although, I wanted him to be in it as I was imagining him as Fazal Baksh and politician Shahmeer. Wahaj Ali was already doing Tere Bin, so we didn’t try for him much, although he was approached. All four were approached but luckily Bilal Abbas was the one who had the better understanding of our script, he just read the initial episodes and understood the character, which helped us a lot”. Talking about Durefishan’s character, he said that Durefishan’s name was suggested to him by Siraj Ul Haq and they all were agreed to it.
Talking about the character of Ali Gul Mallah, he said that he wrote just one scene of him as a vegetable seller which was later on increased by Farooq Rind because he anticipated that it will be a hit character, his way of perceiving the characters is different. He said that Farooq Rind is a passionate director who owns his craft like a baby.
