Asma Mushtaq was a young Pakistani traveller, travel vlogger, and summiteer, born on February 7, 1992. She was known in the mountaineering community for her passion for adventure and love for the mountains.

Asma Mushtaq recently became part of a climbing expedition to Spantik (7,027 metres) in Pakistan’s Karakoram Range. Unfortunately, during the expedition, the young summiteer lost her life after her health deteriorated at high altitude.

According to the details, Mrs. Asma Mushtaq successfully reached the summit of Spantik in good health with her guide, Ali Akbar. However, during the descent, she reportedly suffered from high-altitude sickness. Her guide provided her with initial medical aid but, unfortunately, could not save her. Karakoram Calling Treks has been contacting the relevant authorities and coordinating with them regarding arrangements to bring the deceased’s body back.

Following the tragic news, netizens expressed their condolences over the young summiteer’s death. One wrote, “Altitude sickness can become life-threatening, which is why recognizing its symptoms and seeking timely medical assistance is critical to preventing severe complications.” One person wrote, “Sorry for this young woman’s loss. May she rest in peace. Aameen.” Another said, “So sad to hear about the young death but what else can we do, the time and place of death are fixed.” One follower shared, “I have been following her for a year. I have seen her posts, and one can feel her love for the mountains, shores, and nature. Alas, may the departed soul rest in peace.
