Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is a seasoned Pakistani writer who has penned numerous remarkable scripts, including Landa Bazaar, Main Mar Gayi Shaukat Ali, Boota from Toba Tek Singh, Bunty I Love You, Sadqay Tumhare, Mere Paas Tum Ho, and Pyare Afzal. Recently, his drama serial Main Manto Nahi Hoon received widespread public praise, impressive TRPs, and high viewership. The writer also faced criticism for showing a love story between professor and student.

Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar recently appeared in Mansoor Ali Khan’s podcast, where he revealed the real-life inspiration behind the character of Surriya.

Talking about it, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar said, “I was expecting that this character would become a hit because I knew Saima — as an artist, she was made for this role. I always take inspiration from real life. Behind Surriya was a woman I knew whose two children were killed. She endured this immense pain with patience until Allah took revenge Himself. Allah says, ‘When you don’t take revenge, I do it for you.’ That was the message I wanted to convey through the drama.” Here is the link to the video:
While praising actress Saima, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar added, “Fifty percent of our job is done when an actor appears on screen and completely owns the role. Saima did exactly that — she came, she saw, and she conquered. That’s exactly what we wanted from her, and she delivered perfectly.” Here is the link to the video:
