Shahzad Nawaz is a popular television actor who began his career as an advertising expert. He is currently known for hit dramas like Parizaad, Badshah Begum, Mein, Ghulam Bashah Sundri and Shanas. Nowadays, he is garnering praise for his performances in Humrahi, and Dr Bahu. He is currently hosting a podcast for NJ Spotlight, where he often talks about corruption in Pakistani society.

In his recent podcast episode with Ali Safina, Shahzad Nawaz expressed his wish to remove Quaid-e-Azam’s picture from Pakistani currency.

When Ali Safina said, “Whenever a regime changes, you spot changes around you—for example, one cultural policy says Quaid E Azam and Allama Iqbal are the heroes, we see them all over during their regime, then others remove their pictures and paste their leaders’ portraits like recently Quaid-e-Azam’s picture was replaced. I am just saying how easy it is for you to replace the faces of the architects of your nation; you change according to the direction of the wind,”

Shahzad Nawaz replied, “So you are talking about Karachi airport. If it is in my control, I will remove Quaid-e-Azam’s picture from all the currency notes because you have no shame—you are taking and giving bribes, and you are indulging in fraud while his picture is on the currency notes, and he is watching you do all these corrupt things. There was a major change during the Zia regime when they wrote a statement on currency notes that ‘Earning halal is like worship’, then the font of the statement was shrunk during the Musharraf tenure. I think they should remove it now.” Here is the link to the video:
