Bela Pur Ki Dayan continues to be a remarkably creative drama with inventive storytelling. Every episode of this drama piques my curiosity and manages to confuse me more than ever – which is one of my favorite parts of watching this play! The story has been written and executed in such a manner that it leaves the viewers clueless. It was a wonderful idea to show the back story in the manner it is being shown since it has more of an impact. This was the kind of episode which leaves you with more questions than answers, which is an excellent approach since it keeps the viewers hooked. This episode didn’t have the same flow as most of the episodes so far but overall it was terrifying, entertaining, intriguing and few of the scenes in particular were executed impressively.
Until last week, I was pretty sure that Aziz was the culprit but after watching this episode, I am finding it hard to believe that he would kill so many family members. At the same time, it was difficult to relate to Aziz’s concern for these family members since it was exaggerated. The timeline tonight was confusing because Aziz mentioned that his mother had passed away but the viewers were not shown when and how she died. According to Aziz a group of serial killers was behind these murders but Rehmat instantly blamed him for the murders. Young Aziz’s expressions in this scene made it look like he might have something to do with all this but it is impossible to imagine how this story will end if he really is the murderer. It is still a mystery why Neelo was declared dead. The scene which showed how Neelo killed the police officer was one of the best scenes of this episode. It was shot and acted-out superbly. A horror drama would be incomplete without such scenes because a supernatural being which has come to take revenge shouldn’t be shown moving forward cautiously. The Dayan fits the bill and with every passing episode she is getting more terrifying. Amar Khan and Sarah Khan’s scenes together were few of the most disturbing scenes in this episode. Both the actors breathed life into these horror scenes with their perfect expressions and body language and made this entire situation even more scary. Amar Khan is extremely likeable as Neelo and enormously frightening as the Dayan!
Aziz asked Shakir to help him since he has realized that Neelo isn’t going to listen to anyone else. Shakir seemed confused and there is so much which still has to be revealed about the backstory therefore some of the things are quite blurry at the moment. He was expecting Neelo to be there and didn’t look shocked enough when he was told what was actually happening. I can’t praise Shahjahan Rana, the actor playing young Aziz’s role, enough and the person responsible for his styling also deserves tons of credit. He is a confident actor who understands his character and I actually find myself looking forward to his scenes. The fact that his mannerisms and dialogue delivery is quite similar to that of older Aziz makes him perfect for the role. Umer Naru is also brilliant as the angry young man.
Just like every other episode, tonight too, the background score added more mystery to the story. It was used impressively and effectively throughout. The manner in which the backstory is being shown is one of the most impressive elements of this show. The horror scenes never disappoint and the story continues to be engaging. Bela Pur Ki Dayan is a must-watch for all those viewers who love watching horror shows but also think that Pakistani drama makers cannot make an engaging and well-executed horror drama! Bela Pur Ki Dayan will keep you at the edge of your seat!
