Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is one of Pakistan’s most celebrated contemporary screenwriters and dramatists, recognized for his exceptional storytelling and poetry. His biggest blockbuster hits include Landa Bazaar, Boota from Toba Tek Singh, Pyarey Afzal, Sadqay Tumhare, Bunty I Love You, Zara Yaad Kar, Mere Paas Tum Ho, Main Manto Nahi Hoon, Sunn Mere Dil, and Main Mar Gai Shaukat Ali. His films Punjab Nahi Jaungi and London Nahi Jaunga also performed exceptionally well at the box office.

Recently, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar gave an interview to Public Demand, hosted by Mohsin Abbas Haider. During the interview, he was asked questions regarding Nadia Khan and the criticism surrounding Main Manto Nahi Hoon.

Responding to a question about Nadia Khan and Main Manto Nahi Hoon criticism, he Qamar said, “Main Manto Nahi Hoon will be criticized till the end of this world, as long as these 35 or 36 feminists who are against my narrative remain alive. It is their right, so let them do that. I am doing my job. God bless them. ”

Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar further added, “I will respond about Nadia Khan in two ways. First, it is our bad luck that our country is facing such disobedience, where people like her sit on television and criticize major writers. If she is asked to write a letter to her husband in Urdu, she would not be able to do so, and unfortunately, she is criticizing some of the biggest writers in Pakistan. Secondly, it is my sin that I never cast her. It is unfortunate. She is not disrespecting KRQ or any other writer; she is disrespecting Pakistan. We are given immense respect in India. I was once travelling on a train in India, and when a man found out that I was a writer, he made the entire train stand in my honor. Similarly, in Dubai, an Indian singer praised me for my song Zaroori and spoke highly of me and sat in my feet. Who are you? You are cursed. You are not insulting me; you are insulting talent and Pakistan.”
