Apart from acting, Pakistani drama and film industry legend Nauman Masood has launched his own food restaurant in Islamabad, named as “Khaaba By Nauman Masood.” Nauman Masood was tired of acting now, so he decided to take charge and start an enterprise where he could become more self-reliant.

The desi cuisine restaurant attempting to revolutionize the food options available in Islamabad stands as a colourful multi-storey building in the F7 Markaz. It is an unusual sight in the bureaucratic capital.

Nauman Masood told that the project was the result of a “midlife crisis”. Even after all that he’s done, he said, there is more he can and wants to do. “At my age, you don’t qualify as a young man and neither as an old one — you find yourself stuck somewhere in the middle. I still feel young and my friends and I have kept ourselves fit, perhaps credited to our diets back in the day,” he said.

Speaking on what made him venture out of the entertainment and art business and into hospitality, he said, “During my last three to four years in Karachi, I learnt that work in the media industry was slow. Most scripts I would receive wouldn’t inspire me and only once in a while would I get something worth doing. At this age in Pakistan, they don’t really consider you for a hero’s role, and I found myself just waiting for the right call. I felt suffocated.”

“I travelled to Islamabad for a day at the request of my business partner and that’s where I saw this building. It was a plain and simple Islamabad-style building. I thought I’d do something excited with it, and then I started Khaaba. I didn’t know what sort of a building I’d create. I like playing with colours and lights, I’ve been doing it for years, so I made this colourful building. It’s been very successful, and I’m so grateful to God,” he said.

Nauman Masood doesn’t wish to stop just here. He wants to develop the single-location restaurant into a chain and take it to other cities of the country and maybe even beyond.

You might have seen Mustafa along side Osman Khalid Butt and Ainy Jaffri in Balu Mahi. Mustafa came up with the idea for a campaign #MeToo but for men and it definitely isn’t what you think it is.

He isn’t suggesting a campaign that supports men who have been sexually abused or harassed when he says #MeToo for men he means that all men acknowledge that too are a part of this epidemic.

In his Facebook post he said,

“Every single man is guilty. Guilty of perpetuating this environment where EVERY woman feels unsafe. I too am guilty.”

He continued,

“I, too, have made women feel unsafe. I have always been careful in how I treat every woman I interact with. I know I am guilty of, in one way or another, making them feel unsafe. So yeah, #MeToo.”

He further added,

“I am guilty of ogling or staring at women – sometimes long enough to make them uncomfortable. #MeToo.”

He added that ‘men will be men’ is the part of the problem,

“I am deeply ashamed of my actions and my inaction. I apologise to every woman who has ever felt uncomfortable or unsafe around me. And I promise, I will try to be a better human being.”

The actor concludes by explaining that this is not a debate about “feminism, sexism, or any other ‘ism’”, but rather about being better human beings.

Actor In Law is an upcoming Pakistani film directed by Nabeel Qureshi and produced by Fiza Ali Meerza. These were the two individuals who were behind the film Na Maloom Afrad too. The cast, the director and producer talked to the press about their upcoming venture but not much was revealed about the plot or the story of the film. The film casts Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in lead roles. This film will mark the debut of Indian actor Om Puri in Pakistani films. The rest of the cast includes names like Rehan Sheikh, Saifee, Aly Khan and Rashid Khawaja.

While talking about the film Fahad Mustafa said,

“Na Maloom Afraad was the ice breaker and now this movie is going to be a hit again in Pakistani cinema. It’s a very important film for my career.”

Mehwish Hayat also revealed a little something about her character saying,

“All I can say is that I’m playing a very challenging role, different from all the characters I have previously played. I’m very grateful to the team for casting me in such a unique role.”

Om Puri is very happy with working in Pakistan. Talking about working in Pakistan he said,

“I really like working in Pakistan, because I’m pampered a lot here. I keep responding to people’s salaams from morning to night. So many people want to throw me a dinner party at their house. And everyone wants a selfie.”

Om Puri was expecting the people of Pakistan to be very welcoming because he said,

“I’ve known Pakistanis abroad for about 20 years. I have always received love from them, so much so that it’s hard to believe that there are conflicts between our two countries. I pray that we find our way to peace and both countries work towards progress, friendship and trade.”

The makers of the super-hit comedy, NaMaloom Afraad, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza teamed up for film, Actor in Law, which is expected to release on Eid-ul-Adha this year.

Featuring veteran Indian actor Om Puri, as his debut film in Pakistan, actor and host, Fahad Mustafa, actress and model Mehwish Hayat, and actor and host Alyy Khan, the film is said to be a light romantic comedy with a focus on social issues.

Nabeel Qureshi, the director of the movie, is hopeful that the audience will enjoy this movie. “Actor In Law is a different story just like Na Maloom Afraad. In my earlier film, I picked a topic and played with humor around it. In this film, you will find me narrating another unique story. Main Lateefey nahi suna sakta to kahani sunata hon [I just cannot hear jokes, so I tell stories]. I am sure the audience will connect to the story with its engaging plot,”

Popularly known for his roles as Azher in ARY Digital`s Khasara and Akmal in Dil Mom Ka Dia, Pakistani actor Hassam Khan has built a simple but strong following for himself. Khan belongs to the family of Pakistani Punjabi actors Akmal Khan and M. Ajmal and is the eldest son of Pakistani Urdu poet Suhail Ahmed.

The actor recently got engaged to the love of his life, Sarah Mir in a simple yet beautiful engagement ceremony.

Hasan Khan is a young and emerging Pakistani actor and model who started his showbiz journey back in 2014. Despite portraying supporting roles in dramas, Hasan has proved himself in a short span of time with his remarkable acting skills.

A couple of weeks ago, Hasan Khan was blessed with a baby boy named Hadi Khan. Hasan took to his Instagram account to share the good news with his fans and followers. “Allhamdulillah, Blessed with a baby”, he wrote.

After being blessed with a baby boy, Hasan refrained from showing his son’s face on social media which could be due to multiple reasons. However, Hasan recently took to his Instagram account and shared an adorable picture with his son, while revealing his face to the world for the first time. “Masha’Allah”, he wrote alongside the picture.
