We have Riyasat Shahpurand a family of nawabs, headed by Mehtab Bano/ Begum Nawab, who has two sons, the elder one Farhan Shah (Abdullah Ejaz) and the younger one Wajdan Shah (Sami Khan). Yeh mulk 68 saal purana hai magar yeh riyasat 300 saal purani….. Begum Nawab has two sides to herself, on one hand she is a dictatorial and pitiless person who believes in punishing her enemies the worst way possible. On the other hand she is a mother who wants her sons to discuss their problems with her and trust her.Unfortunately her sons have seen her first side only.
Farhan and Wajdan are totally different from their mother. Farhan is a forgiving person who wants the people of his riyasat, whether friends or foes, to be treated with kindness. Ham ne apne mukhalfeen ko hamesha aman ka pegham diya hai…..He is married to Rania (Aleezay Rasool) and they are about to have a child, the waaris of Riyasat Shahpur.
Wajdan Shah is in love. He has no interest in the affairs if the state. His love interest Anoushey (Sarah Khan) and him are faced with a problem. The problem being the girl’s dad, who wants to marry her off to the man of his choice. Wajdan knows that their families won’t agree to their wedding and that’s why he’s helpless. We are yet to know what enmity both the families have.
After the go-dd bharai of his wife, Farhan Shah receives news that one of his factories has been burnt down but the culprits have been caught. He immediately drives to the factory, where he gives a heartfelt speech on how the people who have been caught are merely stooges, the person who sent them is the real culprit and that he would love to shake hands with him. In the end he lets them go.One likes his character straightaway and especially since Abdullah Ejaz has acted well.
Farhan agrees to go to Anoushey’s house for a rishta and Wajdan is the happiest person on earth. However, he first has to go to London for 3 days . The night before his flight, his mother hands over a file to him. Tumharay abba ke khuwab hain iss mein…..(Really want to know what’s in the file ASAP!) And the next day On his way to the airport , the writer does to him what the writers do to all the likeable characters, kill him! That too with a huge truck!
After Farhan’s death, Begum Nawab, who has herself felt the pain and helplessness of being a widow in the past, decides that in order to protect Rania and her child, Wajdan must marry Rania. Ofcourse, Wajdan is taken aback. He tries to protest, but Begum Nawab refuses to hear anything from his side. Mere faisle se ikhtilaaf karne ki himmat aienda kabhi mat karna….tumhara bachpana chala gaya…..woh chala gaya jo tumharay nakhrey uthata thha….
Rania has the same reaction. She can not even think of marrying Wajdan, who is just like a brother to her.
Anoushey has come across as a person who cares just about herself, but is smart for her own good. Just after Farhan’s death, she started bugging Wajdan to send a rishta to her house. She knows that waiting right now might cause problems later.
Begum Nawab is even more pitiless now. She is sure that Farhan was murdered, and now she is not ready to trust anyone. Dushmanon se haath milana chahta thha…jan haar gaya…. If Wajdan refuses to obey her, she might throw him out of her life too. I found it weird that Asma Abbas’s makeup and colourful clothes came back just one scene after Farhan’s death.
Poor Wajdan tries not only to convince his mother but Anoushey’s father (Mazhar Hayat) too. I don’t think his opinion would have differed if Begum Nawab had not dhamki-fied him. But I really understand his point that this marriage will cause problems for both Anoushey and Wajdan. Where will they live after marriage? And how will he supply for her? Wajdan’s purple attire in that scene was really distracting.
So Wajdan is stuck pretty bad in this situation. Pleasing his mother would mean leaving the love of his life and marrying the love of his life would mean leaving the entire state forever. How many times do our heroes face this problem?
Jitni bhi dafa ho, I had fun watching these two episodes. The actors have done a good job, but Aleezay Rasool needs to improve her dialogue delivery. The main couple is fresh and easy on the eyes. Although I haven’t started rooting for them yet, let’s see if they can impress me in the future episodes. I really wish they had chosen another house for the setting. A new setting would have probably had that riyasat-wala-effect on me.

Rania decided to leave her husband’s house in order to escape Begum Nawab’s pressure, but she ended up dropping unconscious on the floor outside it, and lost her child. Her MIL continued to be the evil person she is and just after Rania came back from the hospital, she ran into her room to grab the khandani bangles she had given her! When all the lectures on the family’s heritage, khushion ka tootna and Rania’s stupidity were given, she got up, and left the poor gal sobbing. That’s pure evil, people! As if the weird makeup wasn’t enough, the hint of humanity that had appeared in Begum Nawab’s character in the previous episodes, vanished, and now feeling for her is impossible. When she told Wajdan the story of her struggles, I actually felt for her, but the way she mentally tortured Rania was despicable!
One thing I can never understand about the women of this house is that their makeup never vanishes. When Rania came back from the hospital, after losing her child, her makeup was perfect!! Moreover, it was unbelievable to know that Begum’s bangle snatching did THAT to Rania’s hands. The bangles were not even kaanch ki! We already feel a lot for Rania and I don’t think we need abusive scenes for that!
The only person I really feel for, is Anoushey’s husband. He really cares for her and she is doing a mistake by treating him like this. The decision she made, of running away from her house was stupid. How was she going to live with Wajdan while being married to someone else?
(Nawab) Safdar Shah, portrayed by Aamir Qureshi is a wicked fellow who wants to take control of the Riyasat. For that he decided to kidnap Anoushey and send her and Wajdan out of the country so he could have his raasta saaf. Atleast that’s the part of his plan, he revealed to the two.How did he know that Anoushey was gonna leave her house? That’s a riddle which I could not solve, just like the riddle of why a “Nawab” would sit in the jungle all the time, like a daaku.
Anyways, Anoushey mistakenly put her phone in her purse before leaving the house and on the way to the airport, her brother messaged to give her the news of her father’s heart attack. Suddenly, Anoushey got all worried for him and forced Wajdan (with her tears) to let her go to the hospital. Wajdan headed back to Safdar’s place to tell him that him and Anoushey won’t be running away now.
Wajdan Shah did not stop to think why Safdar was being so helpful to him. Just like he didn’t bother to ponder over Anoushey’s father’s changed behaviour in episode 3. You have got to stop trusting people like this Wajdan!
Begum’s entry in the last scene (kind of a rescue mission for Wajdan) and her warning to Safdar angered him even more. He will strike with a bigger plan next time.
It’s really funny how not only the house of Wajdan Shah is the same as Bashar Momin’s, but the hero has specially grown a beard, just like Bashar did. Bas the FBI agent type people of Bashar’s house have been replaced with these turban-wearing guys.
Wajdan Shah is desperate. His mother is hell bent on marrying him to his bhabhi and he wants to get married to Anoushey. Hmmmm…..kya kiya jaye? The perfect solution comes to his mind. Court marriage.
Anoushey tou tayyar betheen theen, magar Begum Nawab uss se bhi zyada tayyar. She stepped in the moment Wajdan and Anoushey were all set to tie the bond and ruined their attempt at a happy life. After that, when Wajdan tried to have a Nikkah at a mosque, she sent Anoushey’s father, with a speech on how he had grew fond of Wajdan and would love to have him as his daamad. Mein khud tum donon ki shadi karwaun ga.I can’t believe how Wajdan and Anoushey fell for this trap and decided to go back home!
While Wajdan became the ruler of his riyasat, and put his official turban on his head, Anoushey got forcefully nikkah-fied to Yasir Mazhar’s character. As Wajdan basked in the glory of the turban, thinking he had won at all, Rania told him the truth. She told him that he had been cheated by his own mother.
Wajdan rushed to Anoushey’s house, only to hear a story of mazloomiat from her father. I totally understand his point. Being a father he has to protect his daughter from the dangers of the world and he did just that. The man she is now married to can give her a prosperous life, a life Wajdan could never give her, if he left his ameer family. Anoushey’s father begs Wajdan to let his daughter go, and Wajdan listens to him. He knows that he can’t ever have her in his life.
Begum Nawab tops the list of unreasonable mothers. I don’t understand her character at all. She was widowed at a young age, and suffered a lot that’s why she wants to give Rania and her child a peaceful life, but why make your own son suffer? She knows that Wajdan loves Rania like a sister and he would never let any harm come her way then why does she want to ruin both their lives?
Some negatives that I noticed today are, firstly, Asma Abbas’s makeup is really annoying. It does not suit her at all. I was surprised that Rania started wearing jewelry a few days after Farhan’s death!! Wajdan’s sherwanis are totally disappointing. Being the hero, his wardrobe could have been much better.
The next episode promo was exciting and unpredictable. I am waiting to find out what happens. What did you think of the episode?
There have been some pretty crazy twists in the last few episodes of SeD.
Background:
Riyasat Shapur’s heir Wajdan Shah is forced by his mother, Begum Nawab, to marry his pregnant widowed bhabhi, Rania,after his brother’s death. He doesn’t want to, because he loves Anoushey, but his love interest gets married to someone else. He ends up tying the knot with Rania and develops feelings of affection for her. On the other hand, Anoushey gets divorced after, and when she returns in Wajdan’s life, love sparks between the two once again and they decide to get married.
A ghissa pitta plot twist:
As soon as the two get married Rania gets pregnant! Before Wajdan’s second marriage, Rania’s medical reports had declared that she could never be a mother, but now she could! Things get more complicated *yawn* as Wajdan’s devil of a mother and first wife learn about the marriage to Anoushey.
Wajdan’s helplessness *double yawn* :
Anoushey’s father gets kidnapped by Begum Nawab’s men because she wants to pressurize her son to divorce Anoushey. Wajdan does all he could to free his susar, but fails. Then his car keys disappear from his room and his unreasonable wife threatens him on the phone.
After that, Begum Nawab takes away his phone too!
The hunt for the gal:
Begum Nawab sends some men to capture Anoushey, since Wajdan isn’t keen on helping. I have no idea how the men find out Anoushey’s address, but they do and barge into her house to get her. Luckily, Anoushey leaves the house before their arrival.
When all techniques fail, mommy dearest offers Wajdan two choices, Anoushey or the jaidad. Wajdan (obviously) chooses Anoushey and agrees to leave the riyasat forever.This leads to some pretty pathetically cliched dialogues like “Ek qadam bhi haweli se nikala tou ……. hojaye ga” “Aap kehna kya chahte hain?” “Kitne dinon tak rahe ga asaaishon ke baghair” “Hamare liye rukna mumkin nahi” blah blah.
Meanwhile Nawab Sarfaraz Shah, the family’s enemy, rejoices, as the purpose of his life has been fulfilled and Wajdan is out of his way.
Anoushey’s father is freed from prison as well.
The price to be paid:
Wajdan and Anoushey leave the house they were previously living in because it belonged to the riyasat. They shift to a smaller house and clean and fashion it to make it their home. Wajdan gets a job and Anoushey works hard to be a good housewife. For once, everything is as good as it could be. On the other hand, Rania misses Wajdan.
Sarfaraz frequently visits the haweli to mentally pressurize Begum Nawab about setting up a panchaaid and succeeds (surprisingly, because Begum is as hard as a rock). She suffers a nervous breakdown but gets better with time. However, her hatred for Anoushey increases.
Killing order:
Her trusted informer tells her about the place where her son and his wife are living. Begum tells him to get rid of Anoushey the “fasaad ki jarr”, and he does exactly that.
But luckily, the bullet does not hit Anoushey, instead she falls from the bench she’s standing on and gets a minor sprain in her foot. Wajdan rushes her to the hospital where the doctor tells them that Anoushey is fine and they are going to be parents soon. The end of the previous episode was kind of lame, because Anoushey fainted after falling on the ground, and then in the next episode the doctor told that she just had a sprain in her foot! I mean, who faints over a minor sprain like that?
Wajdan knows that the bullet was meant for his wife, and he knows who exactly would hurt her, so he heads to the haweli to warn his mother against this. He arrives just after the panchaaid has taken place and Rania has been crowned the new heir of the riyasat on Begum Nawab’s order (depite Sarfaraz’s protest).
The crowning ceremony:
There have been two crowning ceremonies in this drama till now. Both of them took place in a marriage hall, and that’s why they look like a shadi, not a crowning ceremony! The “dance” Wajdan’s ceremony was a failed attempt at imitating nawabi culture because (duh!) it looked like a shadi dance!
Rania develops this bossiness in herself since the crowning. She wants Wajdan to come and help her and she doesn’t “ask” this, instead commands. She starts to visit the factory as well, without asking for Begum’s permission. She is confident that she will give birth to a son, but the ultra sound report proves her wrong.
On the enemy’s door:
The news angers Begum Nawab, who then suddenly gets up and decides to visit Wajdan, with undeclared intentions. Lucky for her (there are a lot of coincidences in the show) , Wajdan and Anoushey are standing exactly near the door when she arrives, and she hears them talking about the “waaris”. Voila! All is forgiven. Begum now decides to take in Anoushey but she would never “request” anyone, right? So she calls Anoushey’s father to her house and gives him her word. If he makes his daughter come to the haweli, she will take care of Anoushey and her son guaranteed.
Anoushey and Wajdan both refuse to go, and even when Begum Nawab herself goes to invite them, Wajdan doesn’t give in. However, his wife suddenly realizes that living in the haweli, among all the luxuries would be good for her future child. Thus, she starts pressurizing him as well. He gives in at last.
Between all of this, we had to see Rania getting all detective like. She and her mother both acted as Star Plus’s sazizhi female characters. Please! Begum Nawab alone is enough. Anyways, after finding out about Anoushey’s arrival, Rania’s goes ballistic.
The arrival:
I seriously want to tell Anoushey, “You don’t know what you’re getting into, woman!” Begum Nawab, Rania and her mother are three enemies living with her under one roof. They’ll eat her alive!
On the first day, lives the life of her dreams. The best clothes, jewellry and make-up was at her disposal.
Rania’s restlessness (in the beginning) was reasonable. How could she not feel terrible when her sautan who will also be giving birth to the heir of the riyasat is living under the same roof as her! In fact, I myself was scared of all the two-women-fighting-over-one-guy scenarios that would take place.
Rania’s mother advises her that she should win over Wajdan to secure her place. She started her “winning over Wajdan” campaign with “Aap yaha sojayein aaj” and Anoushey has already started to regret her decision.
The second part of the campaign was harming Anoushey’s child. And how do our drama villians do that? Yes! By putting something in the pregnant woman’s food. This is done by Rania’s loyal Roshan Bi.
The child remains out of harm’s way, but the doctor tells Begum Nawab the cause of the pain and that leads to an interrogation of all the servants. Wajdan and Begum themselves suspect Rania.
Conclusion:
The show started off nicely, but now it is another second wife tale, which will get more intolerable by the minute. The evolution of the first wife into a blood sucking monster is predictable and resentful. Anoushey’s bechargi will be highlighted further in the upcoming episodes. Begum Nawab will continue to be her over-dramatic self, with the horrible make-up and weird dresses. How? How could Asma Abbas allow this to be done to herself?
Till now, Wajdan was not the chicken men in our dramas normally are. He took a stand for himself and his wife but the wife walked into a trap herself. Wajdan will turn into a boring man struggling between two women soon, as is expected.
Only if there was no two wife scenario, this show would be a lot better. Plus, the over loud background music is intolerable!
The love story of Nawab Wajdan Shah, the heir to Riyasat Shahpur and Anoushey, a regular city gal. Throw in Wajdan’s mother Begum Nawabwho wants to get her only son married to his widowed bhabhi, Rania, and then Nawab Safdar who wants to rule the Riyasat by throwing Wajdan out. This was Sultanat-e-Dil few weeks ago.
As the story unfolded, Safdar made a plan to “help” Wajdan and Anoushey run out of the country. He had his own interests of course, and when Wajdan found out, he refused to follow Safdar’s plan. Then Begum Nawab came to save her son.
All of this angered Safdar. He called Anoushey’s husband to his daaku-like place and offered him a lot of money if he promised to make her parents believe that she is a psycho and then divorce her.
Wajdan and Anoushey gave in to their parents’ demands and after the official crowning ceremony, Wajdan got married to Rania while Anoushey’s rukhsati took place.
Wajdan and Rania were not comfortable in each other’s presence after the wedding and acted weird during all the rasoomat. Rania had to listen to Begum’s continuous lectures on how a waaris will strengthen her. On the other hand, Anoushey was tortured by her husband every second after their wedding. He hit her, called her a cheat and even tried to kill her once, but he acted like the most ideal husband in front of her family and made her a psycho in front of her parents. Then he sent her the divorce papers.
Rania and Wajdan eventually started to like each other and began enjoying each other’s company. Rania accepted him as her husband and he accepted her as his wife but then Rania’s medical reports came in, which Begum had ordered herself. They proved that she could never be a mother and Begum put down her demand, “Wajdan has to do a doosri shadi”.
Then came the big twist as Safdar called Anoushey and Wajdan to his place. Both were unaware of the other’s arrival. Safdar showed himself as the good guy. He kidnapped Anoushey’s husband and beat him up in front of her, claiming to take her revenge. Then he brought Wajdan and Anoushey face-to-face.
The love sparked once again and they got married secretly. Yes, the doosri biwi is in the picture! Safdar succeeded because now he can use Anoushey as an excuse to force Wajdan to leave the country and escape from Begum Nawab’s clutches. This was his plan all along.
Wajdan tried to convince Begum Nawab. Isharon mein hi sahi, that if she wanted a second daughter-in-law so badly, why not Anoushey? But she is a stubborn woman and if she says she won’t accept Anoushey, she won’t!
There are positives and negatives in the story. I have enjoyed the love story till now but the cliched second wife tale is not what the viewers want to watch.
What could be better? Well, honestly speaking, a lot.The weird camera angles in Begum Nawab’s scenes should be taken care of immediately. Asma Abbas’s makeover is a huge downer. Fazila Abbasi’s makeup is much better but the prettiest lady in the show is Sarah Khan. Her dresses are simple yet stylish and the overall makeover is nicely done.
In terms of acting, Yasir Mazhar has nailed it. It was hard to believe he was Rudaba’s cowardly brother in Bashar Momin. Almost all the actors are doing fine too but with two exceptions; Alyzeh Rasool and Asma Abbas. Alyzeh needs to bring some strength into her dialogue delivery and expressions. Asma Abbas overdoes her widened eyes every time. Sarah Khan is giving the same performance she has given many times before.
Eid is considered a lucrative occasion for the film business. Due to prologned holidays films released on Eid generate good revenue. But this Eid there are very few Pakistani films lined up for screening. Sultanat is the only film with higher production quality, the rest are quite inferior nothing much to look for to.

The cast of the film includes Aslam Bhatti, Javaid Shaikh , Sila Hussan , Deepak Shirke,Akashdeep Saigal, Shweta Tiwari ,Zainab Qayyum ,Nayyar Ejaz ,Shabbir Jan ,Mustafa Qureshi and Mona Lizza (Sara Loren). The cast include some big names from Pakistan and India. Syed Faisal Bukhari the director is famous for making commercial masala films and dramas. His earlier two films ‘No Paisa No Problem’(2002) and ‘Bhai Log’ (2011) had done average business, though Bhai Log performed much better than No Paisa No Problem.
Artist Sara Loren has done an item number in the film. The film is shot in Bangkok and Dubai, while post production and music is completed in India. From trailer it looks a pure formula masala film. It is the story of some Don type Aslam Bhai played by Aslam Bhatti who is also producer of this film. The film is produced under the banner of AB productions (Aslam Bhatti productions)
Earlier Aslam Bhatti has also produced a high budgeted film ‘God Father The Legend Continues’ in 2007 to launch himself as a film hero, but it failed at box office as Mr. Aslam Bhatti was terrible in leading role. Sultana Siddiqui is an active director of Hum Network Limited and the president of Hum Network Limited. By virtue of that she became the first woman in Pakistan to establish a TV station.

Sultana Siddiqui while talking about the comments being added on drinking and smoking scenes in drams mentioned that “I was always against of showing such clips of drinking and smoking in dramas. The dramas which were produced under my production house never showed such kind of clips, but then the producers and directors started to insist me that they need to show these clips of smoking and drinking, so I allowed them”.
“I allowed them to show such clips but I used a tag line “Smoking And Drinking Is Prohibited”. I was the first person who did this. PEMRA sent me a notice praising me for this act, added Sultana Siddiqui.
Sultana Siddiqui, the President of HUM Network Limited, which is one of Asia’s largest and most successful TV networks, also known as Sultana Apa out of respect in the industry. The media mogul initially made her mark as a producer in the state-owned channel, PTV. With hard work, she set up her channel several years later. Sultana Apa says that we as a nation have to stand together to support each other. She said that she mostly prefer to shoot her dramas and films in Pakistan to encourage people to see the beauty of their own country.
Sultana Siddiqui mentioned that we should make dramas and films based on harassment, bullying and child abuse to give people knowledge about it as drama serial “Udaari” by Hum Tv.

Sultana Siddiqui revealed that at the latest Hum Style Awards, the Hum team called a star to invite them and they asked if they were getting a trophy, otherwise they will not be coming. She said people respect her and would not say this to her but she hears things from the team. Also stars ask money for everything, even clapping or presenting an award. She said this will destroy the importance of appreciation and at one point as there will be no one to clap for the others.

She also shared that she takes awards outside the country to represent her culture. The first time they did their awards in Canada is when they were going to spend 40 crores on the show and they were not sure that they would break even but it went really well.
Sultana Siddiqui is one of the pioneers of the PTV channel and has also laid the foundation for classical storytelling through dramas in the history of Pakistan. She has made a substantial name for herself in this field. Initially, Sultana Siddiqui started her career as a producer of musical shows, after which she produced the Sindhi culture-based drama Marvi, which paved the way for her as a drama producer. Sultana Siddiqui now owns the Hum TV Network which has produced remarkable dramas. She has three competent sons: Junaid, Shunaid, and Duraid.
Sultana Siddiqui recently appeared on PTV’s podcast, hosted by Shamoon Hashmi. In the podcast, she opened up about taking a divorce at a time when it was considered taboo.
Talking about her divorce, Sultana Siddiqui said, “Our parents used to understand our problems regarding marital life. Also, we were always told that a good relationship between spouses has a positive impact on the minds of children. Women always strive to create such an environment for their kids because they are homemakers. A woman never wants to break her home. I always thought marriage was a beautiful relationship where there are two people who put their efforts in making a perfect home, like ours, I also developed a fantasy in my mind that marriage is a perfect institution. That’s why I thought that if I had a perfect home, I would stay in the relationship — but if it wasn’t like that, I would leave.”
She further added, “I was taking time in divorce because of my younger sister. I won’t say that he was not a good man, I would say two people didn’t get along well. Maybe he didn’t have the same vision as me for his kids. I was taking time because I was thinking about my sister, because people discuss the elder sister’s divorce. We used to talk that it should not be done. When she was getting married, I went to my home and I told them I won’t go back now until elderly people intervene into this matter”
Sultana Siddiqui is a popular entertainment industry figure with many achievements. She started her career from PTV as a producer and garnered success in her field, she retired as a senior PTV Producer. In January 2005, Sultana Siddiqui launched her own Channel Hum TV which instantly became a successful private channel and is keep on garnering success. The channel is known for showcasing quality dramas. Sultana Siddiqui is a proud single mother of three sons Junaid Qureshi, Duraid Qureshi and Shunaid Qureshi who all are happily married.

Talking about casting Sabeena Farooq, Sultana Siddiqui said, “she is amazing and she got the chance, again, she is director’s pick who knows his work well. He wanted a serious girl who is interested in craft and not in the makeup or looks. When he referred Sabeena Farooq, I had questions in my mind regarding Sabeena but Kashif made me believe that Sabeena will do perfectly well. Initially, I thought she would look older but then we thought about it, because we needed a married girl and she was perfect for that. Sabeena Farooq is an artist, she is focused on craft, not on looks and I am so happy with the outcome of the serial”.
Talking about unfulfilled wishes, she said, “I often wonder why I am doing all of these projects. I am in a hurry to do my wish list because I think that I have very little time remaining, so, in that hurry I want to cover all the topics which bother me, especially which are harming our society and no one has the courage to talk on that. Earlier, I discussed it with Mehreen Jabbar, I told her that I want to do all these dramas before I go. Besides this, I want the youner lot to learn about the technical things like we used to know as producers, we were literally taught each and everything in PTV. I want the technical team to be super efficient in their work”
Talking about death, she said, “yes, I think about death and I am not afraid of it because I am at a certain age where I have to be prepared for death. I am not afraid of death, I told Duraid and my children not to cry when I die and Duraid instantly said, ‘Why? I will cry’, I urged my kids to remember me in good words, talk about my successful things after I leave this world. For me acceptance of the expected events is normal. I do think on these lines”.
Sultana Siddiqi is an iconic figure of Pakistani media industry. She is the only female head of a media house when she established HUM TV networks a decade ago.

Sultan is an Indian Bollywood film starring Salman Khan released in Pakistan on Eidul Fitr on 6th July 2016. Bollywood films are widely viewed in Pakistan especially the one starring any of the Bollywood’s Khan.

As expected the film has earned huge on all the three Eid Days, but its earnings have exceeded all the expectations. The film has crossed the 10 crore mark in just three days, the fastest for any film on Pakistani box office. After breaking the all time record of highest weekend collections the film has also kicked out many previous records one by one. The most prominent record it has made is of the highest ever grossing Indian Bollywood film in Pakistan.
On Friday 15th July 2016 the collections of the film reached 25.08 crore rupees, surpassing the previous record of 25.05 crore of Dhoom 3 released in 2013. Sultan Rahi is indeed an undisputed superstar of Punjabi cinema of Pakistan who enjoyed massive fame and success for almost two decades. As per report the administration of museum has received this request from many admirers of Sultan Raahi, so they are considering to go ahead with this proposal.
Sultan Rahi was one of Pakistan’s most celebrated film stars, appearing in more than 800 Punjabi films during his legendary career. He worked in both Urdu and Punjabi cinema and dominated the industry until his tragic death in 1996, when he was killed by unidentified assailants. His son, Haider Sultan, followed in his father’s footsteps and later became a television and film actor.
Haider Sultan recently lashed out at Firdous Jamal for his remarks against his father Sultan Rahi on Public Demand, Haider released a video on his Tiktok account strongly condemning the veteran actor’s comments.
Expressing his anger, Haider Sultan said, “Unnecessary things were said about my father. Firdous Jamal, you are a senior, a so-called TV artist, but who are you to speak about my father? Pride has ruined your life and your Hereafter. Your brain cells are dead because of consuming alcohol all the time. Before speaking about legends, you should first look at yourself. You have lost your senses. Sultan Rahi was a great actor and a wonderful human being. The whole world acknowledges his contributions. Your ranting will not make him any less of a legend or an artist. What is happening to you people in old age? You are losing your minds. He kept the film industry alive, worked hard on his own, and elevated Pakistani cinema. You should be ashamed of yourself. Even your family has disowned you. I also have complaints against the show’s producer, Tahir Sarwat Mir, for allowing such obnoxious remarks to be aired about the person who treated him as his son. People may laugh at these comments, but everyone is condemning you. Who are you? ARY or Geo News? No, you are just a cheap Media group.”
Firdous Jamal had earlier claimed on Public Demand that Sultan Rahi didn’t have anycraft but he was just a loud actor with a lot of energy. Here is what he said:
Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt was the remake of Sultan Rahi’s blockbuster Punjabi movie Maula Jatt, which was popular worldwide. The script of the original film was written by Nasir Adeeb, and it was produced by Muhammad Sarwar Bhatti in 1979. Yunus Malik directed the original film. In recent years, Amarah Hikmat and Bilal Lashari attempted a star-studded remake of Maula Jatt with the same writer and it turned out to be a successful venture. The cinematography was inspired by Hollywood films and it did a great business.
Lately, Sultan Rahi’s son Haider Sultan criticized the modern remake of Maula Jutt. He also announced that he is soon making Son of Maula Jut.
In the Samaa TV podcast, hosted by Ukasha Gul, he said, “The remake didn’t do justice to the original movie, although it was a good production. They filmed it in a Hollywood style, which was a plus point as it boosted their business. I think the character didn’t suit Fawad Khan. It was a role meant for a strong person, a man of honor and integrity, but Fawad didn’t stand out in the film. Mahira Khan’s character could have been given to an authentic Punjabi Jatti. Sukoon was an ARY Digital’s prime time drama serial that ended today. The drama was written by Misbah nosheen. Siraj ul Haq was the director of the show who also directed Tere Bin in the recent past. The cast featured Sana Javed, Ahsan Khan, Khaqan Shahnawaz, Sidra Niazi, Atiqa Odho, Usman Peerzada, Laila Wasti, Nida Mumtaz, Qudsia Ali, Adnan Samad Khan and Aehsun Talish. The drama featured a triangular love story of Guriya, Hamdan and Aina.
Today, the much awaited last episode of the drama serial Sukoon aired on ARY Digital. The last episode of the drama is getting mixed response. A few fans loved the ending of the drama. They were satisfied to see Hamdam and Aina’s happy ending but a few were of the view that Sukoon was an average play with a typical storyline which became boring towards its conclusion.
