Punjab Chief Minister announced projects worth billions of rupees for Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar announced several projects worth billions of rupees for Lahore, including a hospital, overhead bridge, underpasses and electric green buses.

A meeting of the governing body of LDA was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in which Chief Minister Usman Buzdar announced a special package of billions of rupees for the development of Lahore.

On the occasion, Usman Buzdar said that a modern hospital with 1000 beds would be constructed on Feroz Road in Lahore out of which 400 beds would be for general, 400 beds for cardiology and 200 beds for blood diseases.

He said that the hospital would be built on LDA land near Arfa Karim Information Technology Tower at a cost of Rs. 7 billion.

Usman Buzdar said that an overhead bridge would be constructed from the railway station to Sheranwala Gate at a total cost of Rs 4.5 billion. The 2 km long overhead bridge would start from Nolakha police station.

He said that 10 underground water tanks would be constructed in Lahore to store rain water at a cost of Rs. 1 billion.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that 4,000 apartments would be constructed for the low-income class in LDA City at an estimated cost of Rs 40 billion.

He said that a total of more than 35,000 apartments are planned to be built on 8,000 kanals of land.

Usman Bazdar said that a modern bus terminal will be constructed at Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore. The Transport Department has been directed to submit the design of the bus terminal by December 10 while green electric buses will also be run in major cities including Lahore.  In addition, an underpass will be constructed on the road leading to Samanabad.
