Ye Dil Mera Episode 28 Story Review – Amaanullah’s Re-Introduction

Ohkay so, this was quite an intense episode of Ye Dil Mera. Finally, it is that stage of the story where everything is falling in its place but is being revealed at the right time. In this episode in particular, I felt I enjoy the to & fro between the past & the present. Now when we all know that the drama is about to end with only a few episodes left, it is coming out as a proper approach of the director to unveil everything slowly. Yes, there is no denying to the fact that this drama actually could’ve ended without the filler episodes & unnecessary prolonging but at this moment, it feels that every episode till it ends is going to be a good one. Oh, did you all know Farhana Khala could sense that Ali Baksh will do everything in his might to stop an interaction between her & Nargis Bua?

Farhana Khala Knew Ali Baksh Would Sever Her Ties With Nargis Bua

The surprising part of this episode was the scene where suddenly Nargis Bua & Farhana Khala came together out of nowhere. I think they should’ve at least shown a scene where they had spoken to each other with Farhana telling Nargis Bua that she is coming to Pakistan from Amreeeeeeeeekkkkka. The way their timings matched seemed more like a coincidence & felt out of the blue. Nargis Bua herself was on her way to Islamabad from Sukkhur, so they shouldn’t have shown that she met Farhana Khala just like that. Later it was figurable that Nargis Bua went to the airport to pick Farhana Khala up & then she wanted to go see Meer Farooq to tell him everything about Ana. Farhana Khala’s dialogues were so repetitive that I actually lost count of how many times she discussed that Ali Baksh or even Meer Farooq would make sure Nargis Bua doesn’t stay in touch with Farhana.

Nargis Bua also had some repetitive dialogues up her sleeves. She actually told Farhana about Ana being in trouble. Once again, Nargis Bua is doubting Amaan without even giving any sort of consideration to the fact that Amaan is entitled to avenge his family’s murder because Meer Farooq is the murderer. However, it is understandable that at this stage she is only concerned about Ana’s well being because she thinks Amaan is going to stoop to Meer Farooq’s level & harm Ana.

YDM 2

Amaan finally confessed that was in his heart for Ana. He wanted her to have clarity about his intentions while still bearing in mind that he is not lying about Meer Farooq & is going to do everything to destroy him. Ana’s situation is perplexing but still, it is unfortunate that even at this stage of the story, she has not shown any mental growth. Even after a few episodes, I am still figuring out how she is going to prove her father’s innocence with her nose as red as a pinocchio & while being disconnected with the rest of the world. It is not like the evidence of Meer Farooq’s innocence is going to fall from the tree in her lap & she gets to marofy it to Amaan’s muh – another repetitive dialogue of the entire drama. Ana still thinks her father is going to rescue her & protect her, however she should’ve dwelled more into the thoughts that ran through her mind after she had a dream & recalled everything Meer Farooq used to say to her to make her forget what she saw – basically lying to her & telling her what she saw had nothing to do with the reality. A little reminder: Farhana Khala knew Ali Baksh or even Meer Farooq would severe her ties with Nargis Bua if they found out.

Amaan got ahead with another plan of his to bring Meer Farooq down. This was probably the last thing he had against Meer Farooq before revealing his real identity. The testimony of Mrs. Humayun was enough to shake Meer Farooq further. He was already finding it hard to deal with the fact that Ana was missing & now on top of that, Amaan played his cards well. This is the sheer mental & emotional torture that Amaan must’ve been planning for ages & with Meer Farooq committing yet another henious crime of framing his employee, Amaan must’ve gotten a hold of all the details to use it to his advantage. Also, did you know Farhana Khala was scared & made sure to let Nargis Bua know that Ali Baksh & Meer Farooq were not going to allow them to be in touch?

The Highlight of The Episode

Amaan appeared out of nowhere in front of Meer Farooq to re-introduce himself. That scene was definitely the highlight & one of the best scenes of the entire drama. Ahad Raza Mir & Adnan Siddique both were phenomenal in that scene. Amaan knew what he was saying while making sure that Meer Farooq understood each & every word of his. He was clear & loud so that Meer Farooq doesn’t misconstrue or assume what he was hearing wasn’t the truth. Meer Farooq now understood that Amaan has his reasons & he, in no way is going to backtrack. He has started the war & he is going to make sure he sees the end of it. Meer Farooq didn’t even beat around the bush & told Ali Baksh everything because they both knew that Amaan was Mani & the names he mentioned were of those who were the victims of their mercilessness & brutality.

YDM 1

The episode surprisingly took another exciting turn when Nargis Bua connected the dots & figured out that Amaan must’ve taken Ana to Daryabagh. Nargis Bua also knows that Daryabagh’s the place that both Amaan & Ana have in common, therefore she knew her instinct couldn’t be wrong. It is anyways good that Farhana Khala is going to be with Nargis Bua. It will also give her some support in dire times like these because being a vulnerable old lady, she would’ve never gotten to Ana on her own. It is like history is repeating itself where Nargis Bua was always with Nilofer Baji & now she is with Farhana Khala. At first Nargis Bua didn’t believe in sharing the secret but now when she will get to spend time with Farhana Khala, she will obviously be reminded of Nilofer’s misfortune & she will eventually end up telling her all the secrets because Nargis Bua will see the sincerity & eagerness in Farhana to know about her sister’s death.

Final Thoughts

This episode of Ye Dil Mera has perfectly set the tone of the closure this drama is going to get. Now all there’s left for the viewers to know is how actually Nilofer died & the actual scenario which Ana keeps on seeing through her dreams. Sajal Aly definitely has performed to her full potential as Ana, she has even made some of the emotional scenes memorable because of her phenomenal acting, however when it comes to the character of Ana, it remains unimpressive. Yes, she has been raised in such an over-protective environment but after being married to Amaan, she should’ve shown some growth. Her character needed some evolving which didn’t happen & probably wouldn’t even matter at this stage of the drama because now it is purely about Amaanullah & Meer Farooq. Ahad Raza Mir & Adnan Siddique were flawless in their portrayal & display of emotions in tonight’s episode. Good to see Abdur Rehman Baba will be making an entry in the next episode as well. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Ye Dil Mera.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

ps: Did you know Farhana Khala’s biggest fear was not being able to stay in touch with Nargis Bua because of Ali Baksh or Meer Farooq?

  • Nice review …
I think America wala plane sukker say ho kar aya tha isliye farhana khala bua g ko saath lay ayi 🤔

  • Nargis bua mentioned she went to Amaan’s Islamabad residence and she didn’t find Ana there. Farhana mentioned that Amaan must have taken Ana to London or someplace and that she came in to meet Ana, thereby suggesting that she possibly went to Amaan’s residence too. Maybe that’s where she and bua met. But I agree, they should have elucidated it.

Loved your review! Stellar as usual. The show is setting up for an epic finale and I, for one, can’t wait!

P.S. Did you know Farhana Khala’s biggest fear was not being able to stay in touch with Nargis Bua because of Ali Baksh or Meer Farooq? LMAO

    • Thank you so much. 😄 Yes, I guess they left a lot for the viewers to imagine & figure out but just 1 scene would’ve made things clear because it was necessary to not make it look so haphazard.

Haha yes, Farhana Khala was scared to death that Ali Baksh will spot her & Nargis Bua together which will end their relationship! 😅

  • The only thing I find a bit absurd in Anaa’s character is her ‘finding proves’ thing…. but overall I think the character has developed…. keeping in mind that no one is telling her anything even not buaa jee…. farhana khala se pehle hi abba ne bdzan kardia tha …. Aman k wo khilaf hogai hai…. ab is k bad bachta hi kon hain …..

    • Meer Farooq khud? Why isn’t she talking to her father or even Ali Baksh for that matter? Daryabagh mai to actually koi nahi hai but her being persistent to stay there to find evidence is like you said quite absurd.

  • HAHAHAHAHA Farhana Khala’s biggest fear.
Great review Zahra. But honestly it’s kind of disappointing that we wait for whole week and get to watch just 5-10 min worth watching scenes. I mean I got tired listening to repetitive dialogues of Bua and Khala.

  • Loved this episode. I think Baujee and Khala went to Ana’s place after reaching Isl to meet her and met each othe instead. Butbthey should indicated that clearly rather than repeat one dialogue overly. A man’s character is most interesting part of story and Ahad has delivered it brilliantly. Fingers crossed for next episode.

    • Yep, even if they met, instead of saying the same thing over & over again, they could’ve spoken about how they met each other by chance at Amaan’s place. I also think Bua Jee must not have gone to Amaan’s place because she knows he has taken Ana out of the city.

  • I would say it again, bua ko Amaan k parents k murder ka or MFZ k murderer hny ka nhi pta, esi lye wo Amaan ko ghlt smjh rae. They will get to know this from Nilo baji’s last khat.

  • i loved your funny review but the what was funnier was that after Bua Jee said a good few times that she is worried about Anna because she is danger than what does our khala Jee say ‘khuda na hasta kahin woh kisi musibat to nahi’

  • Salam
Me and my mother watch this drama and like the story but honestly it’s being dragged to the hilt, maybe romantic sagas work this way but not thrillers, pace is way too slow and full of filler scenes and filler episodes, this drama needed some good editing

  • I am literally surprised at my own self that I waste an hour every week to figure out the progression in the storyline. The writer/director whosoever’s choice is to select the cast, has just manipulated the fame Ahad and Sajal have as a couple. There is insane repetition of the dialogues; I feel like I know what the characters are going to say in those particular scenes. Mir Farooq, being a Don is unable to fund out his own daughter. Aina is beating about the bush in Darya Baagh. Bua Jee never inquired about Aina after her marriage. Farhana Khala keeps on reading her sister’s diary (which she never found and read before). TBH, just by adding some sensational scenes in every episode, a hype is created and there are millions of views (people are of course watching Ahad’s intimate scenes with Sajal). The actors did justice to their performance but the characters are not well-scripted other than that of Aman. I have some serious doubts about Aina’s existence as being the wife or the daughter.

  • Very Nice review zahra ji…
Just one thing why amaan is still hiding the truths from anaa and why mir Farooq couldn’t trace ana by her phone location.
Is play mai tu lagta hai sub ka sabun hi slow ho gaya hai.
Very much repetition of dialogues and situations from last 4 episodes.
A thriller shouldn’t be prolonged like this.

    • my thoughts exactly, this is not how thrillers work, flashbacks are the only happening element in the story right now

  • Sigh. Loosing my patience. But here is one good thing I noticed – Bua ji getting cornered by Khala. You could see from her body language that she didn’t know how to get out of that situation. And then she turned her attention to Aina’s safety. So now she doesn’t have to explain the past anymore. That was a clever move and she is genuinely worried about Aina.
Why isn’t Aina doing any detective work to find more about the past?

  • Oh my God! Where do I even begin!! First of all, amazing review Zahra, enjoyed every bit of it….loved the comic elements!!

Farhana Khala….uff! Her make-up was badly done. I think they could’ve gone a bit easy on her make-up, given the situation. How Farhana Khala met Nargis Bua is anyone’s guess!

I wonder for how long they’re going to keep Ana in dark. All she does is laze around the house, may be thinking that some proof might fall from the rooftop, or she’s sleeping and dreaming everything in blur….Now, even Aman is not with her, if she can call Nargis bua, why can’t she ring to her dad and ask him about it! After so many years, I don’t think she’s going to get any proof on the roads or anywhere else….all she has to do is talk to people and there she is, just staying indoors and hoping for some proofs to come to her miraculously!

The episode, in total was a good one, except for the repetitive dialogues! One more thing I do not understand is Nargis Bua’s loyalty towards Meer Farooq. As a person who knows the entire truth, even if it is for Ana, she can still have a moment where she distrusts Farooq. She has shown cold behavior towards Ali Bakhsh but never towards Farooq, may be because she knows how much Ana loves him and now she thinks Ana is better off with her father than with an unknown enemy.

  • Dragging it. Also how did farhana khala meet bua ji. So random. Mil bhi gaye. They are dragging it now…always have, now more. Aur ana kaunse clues ki baat karti rehti hai. Yahan rehne se use past ke kaise clue mil jayenge. How does that happen. Pata nahi kaunse sabuto ki baat karti hai.

  • Great acting…good story ….but lots of dragging….when will Ana finally go to the house she s scared of entering and find her own childhood pics…this scene has been shown in promos ages ago and its just the biggest flaw right now. Ana s character will just probably change overnight…ridiculous

  • Your review made me laugh. So funny 😊. We know there’s great acting…good story ….but lots of dragging….when will Ana finally go to the house she s scared of entering and find her own childhood pics…this scene has been shown in promos ages ago and its just the biggest flaw right now. Ana s character will just probably change overnight…ridiculous

  • So do you know the scene where Aman revealed himself, is shot separately? Clearly Adnan and Ahad aren’t present at the same time. I feel this was more of a filler episode other than few developments. Btw Ana should go out, maybe on a road and find that cart of evidence. Remember evidence’s cost will be 60 rupees per kg. Ana’s character is completely mindless. Sajal shouldn’t have done this stupid play but i can know why she did this. Ahad’s acting was great though especially in that particular scene where he reveals himself.
A really really great review. I liked the repetitiveness of your review and not the drama’s.

      • Look closely when camera is on Adnan Siddiqui, the guy is not Ahad. He is standing still but when camera is on Ahad, his head is tilted while delivering dialogues

  • LOL @ ps: Did you know Farhana Khala’s biggest fear was not being able to stay in touch with Nargis Bua because of Ali Baksh or Meer Farooq?

Zahra kya cheez hain ap? Uff 😂😂😂😂

    Perfect review!

Mjy achi lg rhi ye cheez k slowly slowly reveal kr rhy esa nhi k ek last episode ko hi bcha kr rkha hua sb reveal krne k liye.

“Farooq’s innocence is going to fall from the tree in her lap & she gets to marofy it to Amaan’s muh –”

    😂😂😂😂

    Kya kamal kaha ap ne!

  • Well we have watched 28th ep. And now its going very slow because of un neccessary suspence….
Everytime every scene, Crying… Thinking… Now Its like slow E-motion drama… Now i am little fedup…

  • My favorite character of ydm is Farhana khala. She provides the much needed comic relief. Lol
“Sajal Aly definitely has performed to her full potential as Ana, she has even made some of the emotional scenes memorable because of her phenomenal acting, however when it comes to the character of Ana, it remains unimpressive.” This is so apt about Aina, can’t agree more with you.
Honestly, my heart was beating at more than a 100 beats/ min at least in that confrontation scene. It was so well executed. Also, after a long time we have a hero on screen who is smart, intelligent yet not ruthless. Something new for tv screens.
Also Zahra, I just love your approach towards dramas. You point out shortcomings without sounding too critical. Something rarely seen these days. Because, I feel by being rational in our criticism we can help our writers/ directors improve.
P.s a month ago there was an article on review.it about ‘Best male actors of the year’. Ahad Raza Mir was mentioned there. A lot of people mocked the choice of admin. I hope some of them came across his performance in YDM.

  • Just wanted to add most of directional flaws are because it has been shot in 3 different places. Karachi, isb and shogran. Amaan’s house is in isb, MF’s is in karachi. Ab director saab nay itni mehnat nae ki hogi kay farhana khala aor bua g husn e itefaq say amaan kay ghar kay bahir miltin. Bas is chakar hum viewers ko pagal banaya hua ha.
Even though, there was one scene where bua and farhana khala visited amaan’s place. Us waqt bhi shoot hosakta tha scene. Per khair 💁

  • Assalam o Alaikum Zahra. How are you? I hope you and your family are keeping safe. Ameen.
I know i am late but i just wanted to say something,
Did you know Farhana khala was worried that she might not be able to keep in touch with Nargis bua because of Ali Bakhash or Meer Farooq?

Hahaha, i love your sense of humour.

  • Hi Zahra… Great review as always… This drama is being dragged unnecessarily and we all know wht the climax would be…culprits would be finished… but thn y repeating the dialogues again and again as if those retakes have been used to make the episode count beyond 30…

This drama has a story more or less like Bollywood movie baazigar … Looking at the scenes they have hardly covered places beyond rooms nd halls nd dining tables and cars… a lil less of road too…M afraid this drama might lose its charm before reaching its climax…
There are also no scenes which show or convince the audience tht Aman has been doing some work to trap Mir Farooq… Revealing identity nd disappearing didn’t make any difference I felt. It should have been a suspense to Mir Farooq and tht fear should have shown in front of Ana who on repeat kept saying abt his principled father!! Hope to see more of content-scenes than repetitive dialogues!!
