Original Song Tune (OST) is an integral part of any show. A unique title song for every show emerged as a trend a few years back, and now a show seems incomplete without its OST. There are countless number of OST’s of shows that I absolutely love, and though the shows have ended, the OST’s will always be cherished. A few shows whose OST’s will always be remembered include names like Dastaan, Humsafar, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Mastana Mahi, Shehr-e-Zaat and the list goes on.
If I start naming OST’s of all the shows that aired in the past, then it will be a never ending list. So, I am going to stick with the OST’s of current shows that I simply adore and are a pleasure to hear.
Here are the names of a few OSTs:
The OST that tops my list of favorites nowadays is the OST of the show Numm. I have always liked slow and melodious tunes and ‘Mumkin Hai…’ fits perfectly in this criterion. It has the most unique poetry as it lyrics which were penned down by the director Ahsan Talish himself, and the composition is done by Muhammad Agha. It is sung by Faiza Mujahid who gained fame from her song ‘Bandya Ho’ from the movie Khuda Ke Liye.
The OST that comes 2nd in my list is the OST of the show Darmiyaan airing on ARY Digital. ‘Khalish aur Khushi Ke Darmiyaan…’ is sung by the very famous Nabeel Shaukat Ali who won the singing reality show Sur-kshetra . The song is brilliantly composed by Sahir Ali Bagga and makes you want to sing along.
The 3rd in my list is the OST of the show Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai airing on Hum TV. ‘Jalta Asman Sulagti Zameen Meri…’ has a very emotional touch to it which reaches one’s heart. It is sung by Shariar Tiwana and written by Asad Ali Shah.
The 4th in my list is ‘Yeh Sheesha Dil Maskan Tera’ from the show Kankar. It is sung by my favorite singer Alycia Dias and written by Fatima Najeeb. The composition is of Waqar Ali, the most oldest and popular composer. He has given countless hit OST’s over the years of shows like Humsafar, Mata-e-Jaan, Talkiyaan and many more.
The 5th in my list is the OST of the upcoming show on Geo, ‘Aasmanon Pe Likha’. The OST got very popular when the promos went on air, and the full version was recently released over the internet because of the high pubic demand for the OST. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful and the composition is superb. It is truly an OST you will fall in love with!
The 6th position is taken by the OST of the upcoming show on Geo, Zindagi Hai Tu. It is a very soft and soothing song which will be a treat for the listeners. I liked the song when I heard it in the promos and now when the full version released, I realized that it was better than I first thought. One song I will definitely recommend everyone to listen.
On the 7th number comes the OST of Kadurat which is an intense song and Shaibi has done a very good job with the composition. The lyrics are written by Sabir Zafar, and voice is lent by the singer Saima.
Kabhi Kabhi is an upcoming show on ARY and its OST ranks on the 8th position in my list. The OST has a very unique tune and composition and is sung by none other than Alycia Dias. A very beautiful OST in my opinion and a must listen for everyone.
The 9th on my list is the OST of Khoya Khoya Chand which has a faster ring to it. I personally think it is a song more apt for a movie. It is written and composed by Sohail Haider and sung by Dua Malik and Ahsan Khan.
Ranj-e-Ashnai is the show airing on A-plus and its OST ranks on the 10th number in my list. It is a different OST which a Punjabi touch to it which makes it stand out from the rest. The OST is beautifully sung by Fariha Parvez and Sahir Ali Bagga. Fariha Parvez is another one of my favorite singers and she has a certain talent for singing Punjabi songs. She has previously sung OSTs of Main Guneghar Nahi and Teri Rah Mein Rul Gai Way.
Feel free to add to the list!
