Previously, we reported that a new filmmaker Hammad Khan is going to direct an indie thriller film called Laal Kabootar. It will be produced by Nehr Ghar Films owned by Kamil Chima and Hania Chima. The production team had been revealed last week while their red poster had captivated everyone. One main thing that was still kept secret was the films cast. Everyone was assuming that it will completely have a new cast as it is being made by relatively new filmmakers and above all it is an indie film but seems like two big names have already signed on for the film.

Mansha Pasha who’s drama serial KhudGarz had ended on ARY a few weeks ago is going to be the protagonist. She will be playing a housewife who goes through a problem in life and how she overcomes it. While, another name who is leading the cast is Ali Kazmi. Ali’s Ishq Hai Tu is soon airing on Hum TV.

Ali will play a journalist in the film. He said,”He is very intense, clever guy but also very fun-loving. He doesn’t like talking about work outside of work. He’s very quirky and loves his wife more than life itself.” Well, the characters and the actors have got us only more excited about the film.

Seems like Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s directorial come back is not proving lucky for him as Sohai Ali left the film, Urwa was kicked and another actress who was a part of the film has dropped out of it. We reported that Resham was signed for a very important role in Kaaf Kangana and she was excited to shoot for the film. The shoot was to begin this week but Resham is no more doing it.

Another actress who was said to be in the film was Saba Hameed. She had also posted a couple of pictures from the set but Khalil ur Rehman Qamar denied that she was ever a part of the film. Although, Resham seemed happy working in the film initially and who would not want to work on a Khalil ur Rehman Qamar script but she said that she had already committed to a few TV Projects and the dates were clashing. Therefore, she excused herself from the project.

Resham will be seen in a project called Noor Bibi to be aired on Geo Entertainment soon. Resham plays a self-proclaimed Godwoman in the show and practices black magic. It also stars Ali Abbas, Saniya Shamshad and Sanam Chaudhry.

Zara is doing great on Televison but she is also venturing into films with an upcoming Asim Raza Film Paray Hut Love where she plays a supporting role. But what is more surprising is that Zara was initially to do another film and that too as a leading lady.

In an interview to Galaxy Lollywood on being asked why she opted for Paray Hut Love, Zara said, “I was offered the main role in Teefa in Trouble back in the day but I had some family commitments that I could not get out of so I never made it to the audition. I was then offered a supporting role in Maula Jutt too but I refused it because I actually did not want a supporting role. Time went by and on the day of my Nikkah, I was approached by Asim Raza for a commercial but since I was busy with my wedding, I couldn’t do that either. Asim and I, however, stayed in touch even after that. One day, we were talking and Asim asked if I would like to do a film with him, even if I don’t get the main role. I said yes but on the condition that the script should be great.”

She contiuned, “The thing is we hardly have four to five people in total who make good film content in Pakistan and if the ‘dad’ of the film content calls you up himself, why would you say no? She also gave some make up tips saying, “I have learnt a lot from makeup artists backstage, but one tip is how to make your highlighter pop. All you have to do is spray the brush with makeup fixer first and then apply highlighter. Another makeup tip is to never put concealer or foundation on your eyelids before putting on eye shadows as it will crease your eye makeup.”

The Punjab government has suspended the Punjab Film Certification Board. The decision was made due to the government no longer being able to afford its members. The board’s chairman, former film star Muhammad Ali’s wife and an actress herself, Zeba, vice chairman along with all its other members were removed in an order to look into corruption reports.

Express Tribune reported that a  senior official of the Punjab Information and Culture Ministry official said , “After receiving several reports of financial corruption, the  ministry has decided to conduct an audit of the board.” The main issue was the chairperson Zeba’s monthly salary which was whopping 1.2 Million. An official said, ““It was beyond our understanding why such huge sums were being paid to the members, in comparison to the amount of work they were doing. Only a few films are produced every year so I would like to know what work this committee has been doing, other than receiving big salaries?”

On being contacted Zeba said, “I completed my tenure with great commitment and I do not know why the committee has been suspended.  I will not comment on the issues of corruption and auditing. All I know is that I completed all the work that was assigned to me by the government with honesty.” According to the reports a new committee will be formed after appointing a new chairperson.

Juggan Kazim has been in the business for quite a while now. Be it hosting, Tv or films, she has done it all. Not many people know this but she was actually going to make her debut with Samina Peerzada’s film Shararat as a foreign returned Pakistani. But she wasn’t allowed to do films back then, so she had to make her Pakistani film debut in a substandard film with Shaan called Khamosh Raho. Anyway, she’s successfully doing her morning show on PTV. Also, she has a YouTube channel with her own name where she recently showed people her beautiful house.

The video starts with Juggan welcoming us and she says that she will make separate videos for each portion of her house. She showed the the area where she lives with her family. Juggan took us to an area where she initially wanted to have a fountain but since it was making too much noise, they got rid of it. She has also got a lift in her house in case someone is wheel-chair bound and wants to see the basement or the upper portion. Well, that’s very genourous of her.

Nouman Habib joined showbiz by appearing in a dance reality show, He had luckily won the show and there was no looking back after that. He was one of the first few actors to have done a film. On being asked about her character she said, “The name of my character is Gulnaz. Gulnaz is a Punjabi girl who is young, carefree and free-spirited. On her equation with the director she said, “Khalil Sahab may have a reputation for being a tough taskmaster on the sets, but to me he is an institution to work with. Yes, he can be extremely tough with unprofessional people but for the most part, he is full of knowledge and expertise, he knows his script, characters and most importantly, his craft. He brings out a creatively-enriching feeling in me as an actor. The way he pushes you and challenges you, you just let him guide you.  It was surprising that Khalil sahib and I were always on the same page. He used to call me “Cheeti” as I was quick to perceive his vision. He is someone who has no ego issues when it comes to learning from others.”

Earlier we had reported that Meera was in the US for sometime for a vacation and she was having a ball of time. Just when she starts to fade from our memories she makes an appearance and reminds us all that she is still there. She was in news last time as the court had asked her to appear in her marriage with Attiq ur Rehman Case.

Poor Salman Khan is not Meera or Rakhi Sawant who chooses to be in the controversies, rather he is dragged into them. Black buck case, hit and run trial and many more. He’s even been to the jail couple of times but that doen’t stop people from loving him. His movies still make crores. Salman was had been shooting for Bharat  and ther was a sequence to be shot at the Wagah border, which, however, could not be possible due to security reasons. Hence, film-maker Ali Abbas Zafar chose a village in Indian Punjab where they recreated the set. Everything was well until the crew put up the Pakistan flag on the land. The villagers got extremely upset and reportedly filed a complaint against Salman.

An insider said, “Even though this is for a film shoot, local organisations are upset and have filed a police complaint against Salman. They also surrounded the sets of Bharat and the hotel that Salman was staying at. After all it is a film shoot but the locals refuse to understand.” Sensing an unfavorable situation Salman and the rest of the Bharat team quickly wrapped up the shooting and left for Mumbai.

The number of films coming out from Pakistani cinema is increasing day by day. Many new faces are coming in every walk of filmmaking and people have just fallen in love with the new wave of cinema. With many hits though is also coming a string of flops. People are experimenting with different genres and getting creative with their projects.

Another film is all ready to hit the silver screens soon and it consists of a whole new team. The film is produced by Zeekay Films who have been involved in making dramas before this and now are venturing towards cinema with their movie Talash. Talash has Mustafa Qureshi, Adnan Tipu, Noaman Sami, Faria Hassan, Ahmed Zeb, Salim Mairaj and Humaira Bano included in the cast. Talash is social issue based film and it will show the problem of malnutrition prevailing in our rural areas.

The film is directed by debutant director Zeeshan Khan and looks like a promising project!

Different brands try to put each other down and this time the war is between soft drink giant Pepsi and travelling company Careem. Careem is known for its quirky promos and funny punch lines. They use social media and engage their followers immensely.

So someone asked Careem to give them a promo code instead of offers to win smartphones. Careem got in some fun mode and replied back where they offered them a free Pepsi in place of a promo code:

If you watch any Pakistani channel, be it an entertainment channel or any news channel, you are familiar with the classic Nanhi Pari advertisement. The one where a girl on her wedding day keeps remembering all her memories with her father while sitting on a mattress. The advertisement finally got revamped and this time our new Nanhi Pari is none other than Mahira Khan. Adnan Siddiqui played the role of her Baba Jani and he ages from young to old and different phases of her life along with her daughter are shown.

The advertisement is super emotional and many daughters will feel the love they have for their fathers. Adnan Siddiqui is fabulous as he changes his acting along with his look for the said advertisement. People though loved the concept of the ad and praised Adnan were not so sure about casting Mahira Khan. They started trolling her and age shaming her on social media and the reaction on the advertisement turned quite not as expected. Earlier we had reported that Neray Aa singer Hamayun Farhad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had confirmed the news saying, “It was about two weeks ago that I was diagnosed with a brain tumour due to which I suffered a seizure. I have been lucky to find the greatest surgeon in the world to operate on me but it has not been easy,” he earlier wrote on social media. I thank you for your prayers and messages of love. But the singer shared a good news on his Instagram that he has had a successful brain surgery which he labelled as life changing. The Overload frontman made his first ever public appearance after the surgery and he shared a picture of it on Instagram. Ishq Tamasha was not a hit. In fact, it was a superhit serial of the year. It was the most surprising hit of the year as well. Faizan Khwaja and Kinza Hashmi are returning from the original cast while the two new additions would be Sonya Mishal and Ali Kazmi. Promos have already caught the attention of the viewers are our giving major deja vu thrills. Promos instantly remind you of Ishq Tamasha. But Ishq Hai Tu is going to be a totally fresh take on love and relationships.

The cast and crew are shooting for the drama these days in Muree and they have shared some absolutely amazing pictures from the set. Kinza Hashmi looks gorgeous in a green top with a brown hat. And red lipstick has become her signature style. Audience seem to be in a for a treat as the BTS pictures are so good. We’re sure the drama is going to be even better.

Saba Qamar recently posted a picture on instagram in which she revealed a tattoo at the back of her neck. Everyone wanted to know what the tattoo meant since it looked like it was not decorative but it was something written in another language. Saba Qamar instantly replied and said that it was her own name Saba in Thai language.

Many Pakistani celebrities have started getting tattoos. Some of them have done so for decorative purposes and others have done so for bigger reasons. Like Hina Altaf’s tattoo is a way to let the world know about the man who saved her. People were perhaps expecting such a story from Saba Qamar as well but it looks like that is not the case.
