Live Shows are always challenging for the guests and the hosts too because everything that happens on the set is seen by the audience there and then. The bloopers might be deleted in the repeated videos but they are always available on the online websites that have recorded them. This blooper might be one of those too. Sajjid Hassan’s wife was invited to Sanam Baloch’s Morning Show but she could not come therefore she called on the show in order to thank the host. Unfortunately for her and probably for her husband as well, who looked very embarrassed, that she referred to Sanam Baloch as Nida and then also thanked Rabbiya Chaudhry who was not even the part of this show. As it turned out the problem was that she had tuned into Nida’s ARY show on TV and not Sanam’s online show on ARY News! I think the dear lady is not a morning person and Sanam should think twice before inviting her to her show again!
Aplus’ latest weekend night drama Chupke Se Bahar Aa Jaye stars Ahsan Khan and Sajjal Ali. In the play the hero falls for the heroine when he watches her dance for the first time. This dance sequence by Sajjal Ali has a very interesting story as narrated by Ahsan Khan. Ahsan Khan told the host Javeria Abbasi that one day when he went to the set he saw Sajjal Ali dancing on Baby Doll Mein Soney Ki and he was amazed to know that this is the song her character will be dancing on in the drama. Ahsan Khan said that Sajjal’s character is supposed to be very innocent so this song did not fit her a bit therefore he asked the director to change the song. Ahsan Khan replaced the song with Mere Hathon Mei No NoChuriyan Hein because that song fit Sajjal’s character and the scene in a much better way.
Here is the video of the dance sequence and what Ahsan Khan said about it:
Shafaq is the most interesting character in this drama. Rahma Ali is acting well and playing the role of the depressed and tiresome Shafaq in the correct way.
So Shafaq wakes up the morning after the wedding and doesn’t remember why she fainted. Sar mein dard hogaya thha, she tells her mother. Her mother tried to give her some multi-vitamins but as usual Shafaq rejected them. Bachpan se kha rahi hun, koi farq nahi para. Her mother’s visit to the doctor informed us that this headache thing is new. Was Shafaq’s “mystery man” the one who triggered this?
I really like Shafaq’s mother’s character. She’s really concerned about her daughter and tries to cheer her up all the time. Yeh recipe book dekho,
aaj mein apne haath se tumhare liye koi achi cheez banaun gi!
Now I discovered, when they made part 2 of Hashir, they actually upgraded him from a level at the bottom to a higher one. Saqib is cheerful and vocal about his feelings. He knows what he wants and will definitely get it. Also, CSBA is not the idiotic love triangle you usually see. The love-at-first-sight was digestible when there was no lame love triangle. (TILL NOW!)
He grabbed the opportunity to convey his feelings to Saira when she came to his house along with her bro. Despite her constant ranting about mohabbat and paise ka talluq! She kept saying how love was all about money and he kept trying to tell her how much he loved her. And when she finally understood, khala ki beti se shadi karni hai tou khala se baat karni pare gi were her orders. I aww-ed at Saira’s brother’s cute sunglasses and his yeh kya horaha hai? But Saqib’s icecream lene chale jao offer was enough to distract him.
Maybe Saira will develop feelings for him now but her plans include only one thing, money, and that is why she can not love anyone completely. Whether she develops feelings for him or not, there is a big barrier between him and her in the form of Saqib’s Dad. Firstly, he doesn’t want his son to get married to a girl whose mother married without her father’s consent. Secondly, he has BIG plans for his son which include marrying him to his friend’s daughter.
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor’s much hyped wedding trended on social media for weeks. After a really short break, Danish is back with ARY Digital’s drama ‘Na Katro Pankh Meray‘ .
Saba Qamar and Danish Taimoor had amazing chemistry in ‘Sannata’ so the followers of the show will definitely be waiting for this one.
After his seven days visit to China Hamza Ali Abbasi had joined the Azadi March again. He has come back with a new-found enthusiasm which he shared with the youth of Pakistan in his fifteen minute or so long speech at the Dharna site in Islamabad. Hamza Ali Abbasi in his speech said that although Tahir-ul-Qadri had ended his protest against the government people can have total faith in Imran Khan that he will not give up until his demands are met. He said that whether it takes 70 days or 70 months Imran Khan will continue struggling for the cause of people of Pakistan. Hamza Ali Abbasi also said that for the first time in his life he had come across a leader who was truly worth depending on.
Hamza Ali said that he represented the youth of Pakistan which has been led down by political leaders over and over again but this time they could be sure that Imran Khan will never let them down because he is sincere with his cause. After witnessing the progress of China, Hamza Ali Abbasi is even more convinced that a good leader can change the fate of a country therefore it is vital that he must have the support of the youth.

Ohkay so, it was another enjoyable & well-directed episode of Digest Writer. I must say I am thoroughly enjoying watching this drama because it’s different, it has a unique story that revolves around a girl who is ambitious & yes, it has a perfect pace with to-the-point scenes. For a change, it’s really good to see a story of a girl who is concerned & determined only to make a career out of her passion & to add more to it, she has a support of her family as well.
Finally, Fareeda got what she wanted & that was an approval of her father to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Definitely, what made Anwar realize Fareeda’s worth was the advance payment Sikandar & Rida gave to her but keeping that aside he did understand that writing was a talent as well & the credit for making Anwar understand definitely goes to Jameela. As much as I enjoyed watching the scenes of Fareeda’s family where they got to enjoy an outdoor snack & a shopping spree sponsored by Fareeda, I really wish their mother was a bit fair & reasonable. I say that in context to how she treated Jameela in comparison to Fareeda. Zareena was never supportive of Fareeda but for obvious reasons, her attitude changed towards her but the way she treated & rather snapped at Jameela made me feel a lot for her because even though Jameela doesn’t contribute to the household expenses, she does her bit & in return only expects some acknowledgement, a little sympathy & some attention. Jameela on her own is definitely going through a hard time because she really wants to settle down & have a life of her own but to see her mother snapping at her wasn’t appeasing. Obviously, being a mother Zareena does think about Jameela’s wedding, which is why she was planning to gather some dowry & some gold ornaments for her, but she doesn’t really know that before all that, Jameela wants her attention & some words of appreciation the most. Amidst all this, it was good to see Fareeda taking care of her & taking some time out to make her realize that Shaukat wasn’t worth her tears.
I really loved Fareeda’s approach on getting paid. She knows that it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of her family so as a token of appreciation, she kept on making plans of how she can utilize her money to make her family feel better & happy. It included small plans like changing her study table, gathering stuff for Jameela, changing the furniture of her house & even some big ones where she dreams of having a place which she’d call as her home. But yes, Fareeda’s instinct has warned her of something about which sooner or later she will have to connect the dots. Obviously, Rida Anmol was kind enough to give a break to a newbie as she really was impressed with her work but just because Fareeda’s story was being appreciated, I am sure she decided to use her name instead, that’s why she lent a cold shoulder to her which obviously was so evident that both Farhaan & Fareeda got heed of. I am sure this will be a good twist in the story.
Of all the things, & no matter how irritating the character of Shaukat might be for Fareeda, but for us, he’s like a good entertainment provider because I really find his scenes funny. Even though he’s in an awe of Fareeda, he still has his complexes, that’s why he dreads seeing Fareeda having a name of her own & getting famous because he knows too well that the more attention & appreciation Fareeda will get for her work, the more she will grow apart from him, which in actual she never was interested in him but Shaukat hasn’t really gotten the hint. I am really interested to see his ways of impressing Fareeda & getting rejected every single time, haha!
I certainly enjoyed watching this episode of Digest Writer as well. I am glad we have a fresh story that deals with a different issue for now. The acting of all the actors has been great & I must say even the supporting actors have done their jobs really well. They’ve literally completed the gaps & I think they contribute in making this drama a wholesome package as well. Share your thoughts about how much you enjoyed watching this episode of Digest Writer please. :)

Whoa- that ‘2 months later’ caption took me by surprise! The pace of the show is remarkable but I am not very sure about the recent turn of events. Since the very first episode, I have been struggling to relate to Imroze’s character. Imroze fell in love with Paymaan the moment he laid his eyes on her and proposed her within days, leaving us viewers with one big question: WHY? And now there he is, suspecting his life-long friend and loyal wife, and here we are again, questioning WHY? Imroze clearly has a strong background story, which I am hoping they will unravel as the episodes progress. Maybe he is one of those people who spend their whole lives searching for a firm relationship, and when they do find one, they are too afraid to let it slip through their fingers and that’s where their insecurities get the best of them. Those scars on his chest suggest something really serious has happened.
After two good months, Shams finally got to know that Paymaan and Imroze have tied the knot. I am not very pleased the way a mere conversation between Shams and Roomi is practically changing the course of the story. Shams still believes that Roomi sacrificed his ‘love’ for the sake of Imroze. I wish Roomi had clarified his position then and there in front of Shams because right after overhearing the conversation between the two, Imroze started having second thoughts about the person who played the biggest role in his marriage to Paymaan, he put two and two together (that too very irrationally) and started to believe that Roomi really is interested in Paymaan. His reaction went on to prove that he is not a psychiatrist-he actually NEEDS a psychiatrist! And the way he is relating his patient’s experiences to his own is not something very convincing. Roomi’s frank attitude with Paymaan reminded me of Humsafar’s Khizr and Imroze’s constipated expressions every time Roomi appeared, reminded me of Ashar but the difference here is that Roomi is true in his intentions. Imroze has been friends with Roomi for so long and he, of all people, should know that Roomi tends to get extra-candid because that is sort of his style when it comes to interacting with people. Remember how Roomi once said to Shams that ‘mujhay Sara jaisi koi nahe mili, iss liay shadi nahe ki’? And Shams, knowing his nature, took his somewhat chichoray comments very lightly. But like I said, Imroze has got some serious issues. I would definitely mention here how I really liked the way Paymaan kept on correcting Roomi just to make it crystal clear that Imroze is her first priority. This should be enough for Imroze to accept the fact that Paymaan loves him truly and unconditionally! I can already feel for Paymaan and her phooti qismat. First Tabbasum the Dictator, then Shams the Control-freak and NOW Imroze the stereotypic Shukki husband! Seems like over-bearing and dominating people are all she got! The episode again had a lot of meaningful dialogues to offer and Mohib Mirza delivered them quite well. However, I was expecting more of Imroze-Paymaan scenes. Perhaps the only ‘normal’ conversation they had was in the first one minute of the episode. I am sure we could all use a few light romantic scenes or sweet dialogues, hmm?
It was a delight to see how Haider stood up for Tabbasum when Shams started firing accusations (again)! The greatness of Haider’s heart is unbeatable and I found his conversation with Shams quite touching: Mei namukammal ho kar bhi mukammal hun aur tum mukammal hotay huay bhi namukammal ho! The visit to that woman gave Shams the ‘evidence’ he was looking for to finally come into terms with the fact that his real father was a characterless man. His dark secrets were way too dark! But Haider’s decision to reveal all of this to Shams was perfect, I only wish he had done it a bit sooner! Shams and Sara still haven’t sorted out their differences and Sara is living in a hostel. The fact that only Roomi knows about her whereabouts goes on to show the level of trust Sara shares with him.
After watching ‘Shukk’, I was done with shukki khawands but Firaaq still has the factor of enthrallment and has a lot more to offer, so lets see how things shape up. Did you watch tonight’s episode? Share your thoughts please.

Aplus’ new drama serial Jaanam shows a lot of Bold Scenes. After the Saba Qamar and Adnan Siddiqui Bedroom Scene, They have come up with this Type of Scenes which we can not see with our families.
This drama in particular has crossed all limits of decency, it is evident that there are certain producers who think that these cheap tactics can get them the ratings and attention which they are very desperately running after. Surely, there are bad people in this world too but this obsession with showing only the bad side of the society and that too in a way that does not highlight the issue but sensationalizes so that viewers will get cheap thrills out of it is as low as the writers, producers and directors can stoop. Aplus is not the only channel showing such dramas, there are many other channels which consider it their duty to air at least one drama that is controversial in every way in every season.
I do not want to make sweeping statements but it looks like that a time will come soon when kissing will not be a problem at all. If this would have happened in old times literally people would protest and obviously dramas are family entertainment if we started to show too much boldness then it is better to switch off Pakistani dramas because these dramas are losing the Pakistani touch which was that Pakistani dramas focused on the real Pakistani society and not just the bad segment of it only to get negative attention.
A tad bit interesting episode with depiction of daily struggles of the characters once again. I must say the conversations between the characters have been written nicely & they make you relate a bit to their stories at times but other than that, I really wish we come to a point where the story kick-starts & gives us something very interesting to look forward to.
Rizwan decided to propose to Michelle but just like that she walked away without sharing any thoughts with him. No one really can tell what’s going through Michelle’s mind & for that the element of mystery in her character that I once referred to has turned into blandness. Obviously, the walk off was a conveyance of strong rejection but other than that, what made her do that still remains a secret. Even though Michelle has shared her feelings with Tanya that she takes Rizwan as her friend but I think some actual justification would’ve sufficed. Why is it that she’s at her best around him but still treats him as a friend? Why is it that so many years have passed & she hasn’t thought of him as someone more than a friend?
Jamshed’s struggling on his own because he has freshly arrived in America. From sleeping in a store room on the floor to doing the laundry by himself, he’s tasting the life of America & sadly for him, he cannot share his feelings with his people back home because they know too well how much he was eager to come to America. I really like the character of Asma & I think the actress has done her bit really well. She’s sad & she wants some sort of assurance from Jamshed because she has pressures on her as well. Let’s see what decision Jamshed will take in regards to Asma because right now he’s frustrated & a bit too pre-occupied in adapting to the massive change in his life.
Finally, we got to know a bit about Salma. She lives with her Tai, who happens to be her MIL as well. Obviously, her MIL is very dominating & likes to see things happening her ways. She’s pretty rooted that’s why she wants Salma to train her daughter Imaan like a typical Pakistani too. Salma definitely knows what her daughter wants & for that she is ready to take a stand to show support to her daughter. Once again, the short conversation between her & Imran Bhatti was done well & it was good to see Imran Bhatti taking care of Salma’s daughter. That whole scene was really sweet.
I am not sure why but I am getting ticked off with the forced I-don’t-care-attitude of Imran Bhatti’s wife Cathy. She’s a dictator & we know it, so can we move ahead & see what else’s in store for us especially when it comes to Bhatti-Cathy life? I think pretty much everything’s been revealed about the characters till now so I’m ready to see what brought them to this point in their lives, some background, some past & future stories & some progress in the plot, please? Seems like some developments might be shown in the next episode so, with this hope & based on the previews, I keep on watching this play thinking we’ll have something or the other that will actually draw my attention but so far, it hasn’t really happened. So, let’s see what happens next & yes, I’d definitely say that I fail to understand why would a restaurant owner go to a local laundry booth to do her laundry? As we saw in the initial episodes, she lives in a pretty decent apartment, so why’s it that she was seen doing her laundry there? Share your thoughts please.

OO EM JEE! You don’t want this drama to end, do you? Finally, this episode was all about Shano & Khalil & something exactly that we all were waiting for. I am so glad that they decided to give us what we wished for at a very right time. I am loving this drama like anything & I must give due credit to the director for stirring up the curiosity with each passing episode, yet revealing the cards when needed. I think the pace of the play has been really good till now & I wish it stays the same.
I must say, I could relate to Shano’s character the moment this episode began & for that I commend the team & Mahira Khan especially for acting out Shano so well. While she was taking care of Khalil’s dinner, the fear & confusion was evident on her face & in her words. It really seemed that Shano was eager to earn the apology for pushing him to a limit where he had to show his anger, yet she was ready to do her bit while overlooking her mother’s strict orders.
I wasn’t too sure about why the issue of Khalil’s meal was given so much importance, obviously they had to show the staunch side of his character but in the first few minutes of the episode I wished they had resorted to something else to reveal this side of him & I expected some courtesy from him seeing how he came to meet his relatives after good 7 years but I am glad that thing subsided pretty quickly where everyone gave him the space he was looking for & finally, after a good sleep, he started afresh & was reminded that he came here to meet Shano in the first place. As the episode progressed & seeing how Khalil eased up a bit, that made me understand him a lot better as well.
Finally, Shano & Khalil laid eyes on each other & it was magical. There were a lot of unsaid things that said it all. Khalil has seen the love she has for him & those few footsteps that he took while looking at her made him understand that he was headed in the right direction & he has found a partner that he was looking for. He definitely wanted to speak to her but what he would’ve said still remains a mystery & gives out another reason to anticipate what might happen next.
The thing I enjoyed the most throughout this episode was the involvement of relatives in this whole scenario. It was really sweet to see how each & every single person in the family valued Shano & Khalil’s engagement & Shano also found a cousin who could understand her feelings, relate to her & then tried to help her the best way she could so that Shano feels comfortable & gets rids of the delusions she had garnered in regards to Khalil. On the other hand, there was also a relative who kept on reminding Ameen of his responsibility towards the promise that was made way back when Shano was born. Ameen obviously thinks a little too high of himself where he thinks he can back out on the promise & call the engagement off but little does he know that there are a lot of people who’d stand up for Shano & Khalil. Ameen obviously is practical where he looks out for financial status a bit more than anything else & that is still understandable considering he’s a father of Shano but the way he kept on presenting convoluted logics to show his disinterest only highlighted that even though he has no reasons to break the promise to begin with, he won’t be convinced at anything Khalil’s family would say because he & Rasheeda have pretty much made up their minds.
I think the scene where Shano goes to meet Khalil was executed brilliantly where they showed exactly how Shano was struggling to maintain the balance between what she loves & what she values, who she wants & who she respects. For once Shano did back out because her mother asked her to but I think the thing what really made her stand out was the way she shared her feelings with her mother. Shano clearly left her speechless but what I loved about her character was that she knows how to voice her opinions & isn’t one of those who’d submit to unreasonable demands of her parents without questioning them.
‘Dua kar ke mangni toot jaye, phir mai bataoonga ke mangniyaan sachay dilon se hoti hain, jhooti zubanon se nahi’. This pretty much sums up Khalil’s perspective & his plans about fulfilling the promise from his side. He certainly knows how to get what he wants & I am sure Khalil will do everything to win Shano because he has obviously fallen in love with her. I loved the way the episode ended where Khalil made his presence felt. I think Samiya Mumtaz & Rehaan Sheikh acted brilliantly in that scene especially & I loved seeing Ameen & Rasheeda getting agitated by how Khalil was overtaking them. I had a good laugh & loved how Khalil made sure he conveys his message to Shano that too right in front of her parents, ‘Jee Khala, pura dehaan hai mera’. :)
Loved the episode as usual. Loved the execution. Loved the direction. Loved the acting & everything about this play & yes most importantly, I loved the locations & loved listening to the band playing the old melodies. I think the team of Sadqay Tumhare has worked really hard in achieving the feel of that era & they’ve been successful for sure. So glad that we finally have that Hum TV quality drama back on our screens & I can’t wait to see more because the preview seemed very enticing & I am sure things are going to get pretty serious henceforth. Before I conclude I must say this episode belongs to both Shano & Khalil but I’d say a little more to Shano because she pictured her feelings loud & clear. & I must say even though I wasn’t too sure about Adnan Malik’s acting in the previous episode, he has once again proved himself. Well done to Mahira Khan & Adnan Malik both. & I think I’m becoming Shano’s (read Mahira’s) fan slowly & steadily haha. Share your thoughts on this episode of Sadqay Tumharay please.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers, Zahra Mirza.
PS: I’m covering for my dear friend Fatima Awan, please look out for her say in the comments. :)

With the movie now released for a respectable period of time now I think it is finally time to write a review.
021 is an excellent movie infact it is the next step of evolution in the genre of action movies. Unfortunately we Pakistanis have a habit of appreciating B-grade Bollywood trash over local gems.
021 starts in Afghanistan where Ayub khosa a warlord raids a convoy of nato trucks and takes a chip. We discover later that this chip contains the names of people who are collaborating with a corrupt conglomerate called the ‘ Winston group’ to accelerate war in Afghanistan in order to get control over it’s lithium deposits. Ayub then sends this chip to his friends kashif siddiqui aka kash ( Shaan) for safekeeping. Shaan plays an ex CIA agent who was dismissed from the agency after his first wife was killed and he went on a rampage in revenge. Amina Sheikh plays his fashionable second wife who is trying his best to make him comfortable and to bond with his sons.
This chip Ofcourse is of great value so too avoid exposure of American agents’ corruption, CIA agents in Pakistan ( Gohar Mumtaz and Shamoon Abbasi) are ordered to recover the chip and plant this whole mess on whoever holds the chip i.e. Kash. And here the action begins with some really cool action and sequences. Shaan had really outdone himself with this movie. Amina has done a pretty good job too and so as Shamoon as a suave and ruthless villain.
One refreshing thing about this movie was there was no concept of Black and white. All characters have their flaws. Not all Americans are evil. Ayub khosa is helped by a senior CIA agent who has been in Afghanistan for many years and genuinely cares about the country. The elderly dies in his efforts before recording a video asking kash to help Ayub. There is also an Afghan female journalist who is risking her life for her country. This movie is set on the eve of afghan elections and 021 refers to the number of hours this whole movie takes place.
The movie is shot brilliantly. From the barren mountains of Afghanistan, to the streets of Kabul to the modern metropolis of Karachi. The posh areas of karachi along with it’s dark underbelly is shown exquisitely. Over all the movie is great with a solid plot. It has also a message of peace and Afghan-Pak friendship. To see what happens in the end do watch it.
Here I must point out certain things that have pained me greatly. Every nation in the world supports it’s own industry. Yet here we are making fun of our own movies and rendering rather vicious criticism. I’ve read many negative reviews of this movie! My Question is this movie worse then the extremely moronic, stupid and monotonous erm ‘masterpieces’ like kick, Jai ho, Chennai express? These movies are so ridiculous that atleast I’m unable to watch them completely because of boredom. As for complaints of the movie being in three languages well there were subtitles in both English and Urdu. What about all the Bollywood movies with completely unnecessary addition of English just to impress foreigners and tricking them into believing India is so modern and hip?
Finally something about my movie going experience. I have so far in my life watched three movies total!( yes even I know that it is sad!). I do recall watching an old Pakistani movie at Muree Drive in Cinema( Where Shan-e-Mughalia restaurant now stands) but I was really young to remember the movie and as I recall feel asleep within a short period of time( Because of my age not because of the movie!). I’ve watched the other three at the multiplex at Ocean mall Karachi and I can surely say about my fellow moviegoers that they were incredibly rude. Giggling throughout the movie. They did this in 021, in Waar and in Insidious 2. Talk about ruining other’s fun! If you don’t know how to behave in a public pace then please stay home
Any way keep supporting and commenting.
P.S: Are people actually looking forward to my articles? Because My class fellows at Karachi university think that my articles are a waste of time and men don’t review dramas! ( What the hell!?). Any way who cares? I for one love writing these reviews and the response of all my friends.
Pakistani women are once again getting highlighted on the international forum this time through a documentary that has been produced by a charity run by actress Salma Hayek and directed by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. The title of the documentary is Humaira: The Game Changer. This documentary was shown for the first time at the Women’s Forum Global Meeting in Deauville, France on Wednesday.
The documentary is a sequel to Humaira: The Dream Catcher, which was about the courageous woman Humaira who opened her school ‘ Dream Model Street School’ in that area of Pakistan where there was no concept of educating girls.
“The Dream School has changed the lives of hundreds of children. Every girl deserves to go to school, regardless of where she was born,” said Madonna, who appeared onstage with Humaira at the Sound of Change Live concert last year.
‘Dream Model Street School’ has been a dream come true for many because it has given more than one thousand boys and girls access to education. It has also given opportunity to women in that area to work in the school.
It is really good to see these issues being highlighted on international level, we wish Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy all the best for her future endeavors.
We all are desperately waiting for Goyaa. Whether it’s the cute couple, the cast, the writer (Mohammad Ahmed) or the sizzling stills, Goyaa is the most hyped show recently. Moreover, since ARY is giving us crap after crap this time, we are hoping they’ll redeem themselves by Goyaa.
Fan-made posters for Goyaa are making it even harder to wait.
It has been confirmed by the facebook page of Goyaa that the show will begin in November.
Ohkay so, once again it was a fairly decent episode with a little happenings here & there. Even though this episode was somehow limited in progress, the pace was still smooth with one thing or the other happening in it. Really happy with the way things are unfolding in this play & how every episode is different from the other where you never feel bored or feel that the scenes are repetitive.
Isn’t it good to see that Beena has taken inspiration from Annie? Beena on her own has started to conduct a research on the matter as she feels inclined to it & gladly she has Annie’s support. I am sure when Rohaan will find out, not only will he appreciate Beena but will encourage her as well. Obviously, just like Huma objected on Annie’s choices, Beena’s mother is going to react the same way but luckily for her, she has Annie by her side to share her personal experience & incidents with her to keep her motivated & make her understand that walking on this path is comparatively difficult as to how it is by being in your comfort zone.
Rohaan left & Annie got busy with her office routine but what I loved the most were their phone conversations. I think it’s been ages & I probably don’t even remember that when did I last see a couple having a ‘normal’ conversation with each other where they spoke about daily routines, spoke about how they missed each other & how the husband demanded his wife to come & receive him at the airport. I think this is something we haven’t seen lately in our dramas & I always wondered when can we get to see such a couple who has realistic & casual conversations. Isn’t it great that we asked for it & we got it? :)
It was indeed sad to see Kashaf suffering at the hands of Haris. He has turned out to be the meanest person & to turn Kashaf’s life into a nightmare; he even resorted to domestic violence. Obviously, Huma feels for Kashaf & so does Amjad but he was right where he made her understand that relations aren’t cut off on such issues because every problem has a solution as well. Amjad rightly pointed out that Haris was Kashaf’s own choice. It was good to see that Huma reminded Kashaf of Annie & her part in their property, which she is entitled to even if she doesn’t ask for it. Huma has clearly understood that Annie has not bothered her as much as Kashaf has, both before & after her marriage. Obviously, what Kashaf is going through is a rough phase of her life but Huma & Amjad can’t help but draw a comparison between both Rohaan & Haris.
I totally agree to Rohaan’s opinion of Hashim, he actually is a ‘confused’ person who doesn’t know what he wants out of life. The way he tackled his marriage was very immature. Him not telling his parents about the marriage was another thing but the way he kept Faryal in the dark was again really odd. He should’ve at least told her like she said so that at least she could’ve prepared herself for being sidelined like that. I don’t know why but I find this whole Hashim-Faryal wedding aspect a bit forced right now. I am not too sure why but things could’ve happened pretty easily because Shireen & Ahmad were never strict parents but to show Hashim’s negligence & the urge to go for a stealth wedding doesn’t seem convincing to me. I hope in the future they do have something to justify this move of Hashim or else if this whole family is treated as a side track, it would be the right thing to do.
Looking forward to the next episode already as like I sussed, Rohaan & Annie both will come to Kashaf’s rescue & will do their bit in making Haris understand that he’s wrong. I think from now on, the story will shift on Hashim’s wife & Shireen’s issues with her but never mind, as far as we get to see our favourite duo happy with each other, nothing else matters. :) & oh yes, I liked the whole Annie-demanding-gifts conversation too, because it once again showed that they both are a normal couple where wife demands & husband teases her, it was rather sweet. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode, share your say about it as well! :)
Keep Supporting,
Cheers, Zahra Mirza.
PS: You guys might’ve noticed, I am posting the reviews a bit late these days, that is because the daylight saving has started here & the episodes now air at the local time of 2-3AM, because of which I’m having a hard time adjusting to this change. Trust me, I am trying my best & will come back to posting the reviews as quickly as possible so till then, bear with me pleaseeeeeeeeeee. :D
Thank you all for being so awesome. :)

Written by Amna Mufti and created by Faysal Manzoor, Mol is a drama known to many months before the cast was finalized. The show will be produced by Everday Productions and co-produced by Momina Duraid & air on Hum TV. Earlier this month, it was announced that shooting would begin soon. The cast was finalized a few days after. Faysal Qureshi and Naveen Waqar were cast as the leads, Shehriyar Hassan and Ayesha Imtiaz. Nouman Ijaz is said to be playing the role of Rohail Ahmad but there is no word on who is playing Sajjal. There is no official announcement on who will be playing the two. The drama is said to comprise of 24 episodes.
Here are a few photos taken during shooting:
I personally find the cast appealing and even better than the initial cast! It’s nice to see Faysal Qureshi working with Momina Duraid after five years. She will also be the creative head for Mol. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
You know what? It was kind of sad to see Sonia Hussain wasting so much of her ENERGY for the sake of an episode that had nothing new or productive to offer. A couple of people losing their consciousness (in case you are wondering, they are Sidra and her Mommy dearest :P), Mehar’s ‘Mei bohat buri hun. Mujhay maaf kardain’ phase and a few outbursts here and there are not exactly my idea of ‘redemption’.
It seems like they added Sidra’s track just because they wanted Mehar to learn something from her nasal-voiced ‘unfortunate’ behen and acknowledge the fact that she is extremely lucky to have a husband like Saqib. ZZZZ (that was me yawning) I found it a bit appalling how Sidra made it sound as if Mehar’s life is enviable perfect?! Sidra too is going through a lot but at least she got married to a young gentleman who loves her, in contrast to Mehar, who has to live her whole life with an uncle who has mastered the skill of eye-rolling . If the writer is trying to portray as if Mehar’s life partner is ‘ideal’, I am sorry I don’t agree with her twisted logic. And yess, since day one, I have seen everyone in this play intent on proving that Mehar and her bewaqoofiyan are responsible for all the mishaps! Okay I get it, she made a lot of mistakes, but holding Mehar responsible for all the bad things going on in her life just doesn’t seem right to me! Mehar’s outburst (this must have been her 50th outburst by the way) was harsh but I will not blame her for anything because had I been in her place, I would have ended up in Hyderabad ka paagalkhaana too! And just so you know, her mother’s sudden heart attack didn’t build up any tension whatsoever.
So it’s revealed that Zeba Ji was Saqib’s boss after all and she had to stay at Saqib’s place because she missed her flight! Khoda pahaar aur nikla chooha LOL! Tables have turned for sure: initially, it was Saqib who always seemed to be thinking of ways to please Mehar and now it’s Mehar who is desperate for his attention and love. I used to find Saqib’s character so relatable and likeable but he has taken a disastrous U-turn, just like the play itself! Hayee those good old days when I actually used to WAIT for this play!
On a humorous note, I would put forth the question: Did you guys observe EXACTLY the way Sidra fainted? ;) Well, I did and it was LOL X 10
I hate to say this but Chup Raho is going downhill with every passing episode. The pace of the drama has been very slow right from the second episode and the only character which truly stands out is that of Numair. I think Chup Raho would have been a very enticing telefilm but I have started wondering now if the writer has enough material to engage us for another 10 episodes or so. There has been a lot of repetition in the past few episodes and even though Rameen’s outburst in her sleep looked like something huge but it had very little impact on the people around her. Manal talked to Numair about it but he made sure that she never brought up this topic again very tactfully. Numair is definitely running the show, he even managed to ensure that Rameen’s mother stays at her brother in law’s house for longer. It would have been far better if Rameen did not have a mother at all because just like always I was unable to relate to her majburis! Numair’s control over everyone’s life has been taken a little too far, how does this man concentrate on his work? because it looks like there is only one thing on his mind!
In one of the previous episodes Numair told his friend that he couldn’t care less if his wife found out about what he has been doing but tonight his reaction clearly showed that he would much rather not get himself in that kind of a position. Manal is smitten by her husband and will believe anything he tells her. Someone finally thought of taking Rameen to a doctor but I don’t see that happening anytime soon! Sajjal Ali’s performance wasn’t the least bit impressive in tonight’s episode. I was actually very disappointed with her acting especially when she was talking to her mother on the phone. The scene at night when she starts screaming was not at all convincing; Rameen has been shown as someone who is very intimidated by Numair and she cannot even speak when he is around therefore one would not expect someone like her to react in this manner even if it was when she was sleeping. Blurting out every little detail was a bit too much.
Numair continued alluring Azar into his trap and Azar thinks that there can’t possible be anything wrong with Numair bhai. The “love birds” scene was cringe worthy….what happened to giving each other some space? The story is not going anywhere till now, hardly anything new has happened in the past three episodes. If Rameen’s mother’s death will take the story forward then please do it soon because her character is hopeless and annoying any way! Samira Fazal’s plays are usually very happening but this one is putting me to sleep! Yasir Nawaz failed to deal with a very sensitive issue in a responsible manner; every episode has a scene or two that are highly uncalled for, too much cuddling and holding hands for my taste!
In past letters were used as a main medium for communication. In the era of less technology people tend to write letters in order to send information to someone living distantly. With an emerging technology where people can easily communicate with each other on real time basis, the significance of letters is almost zero and it is more or less used in business world only. Hence today letters are used as a mean of business and formal communication.
In today’s modern world where hardly anyone use letter for informal communication, our dramas give some real importance to it. Some dramas suggest that letters can be used as a medium to express your feelings to your loved one and we have also noticed that these letters had been proven as a critical success factor in concluding dramas.
Let’s take a tour of those dramas where directors and writers had shown some real power of letters and how these letters helped in concluding dramas.
Humsafar: In a desperate search for his wedding album, Ashar finally found a letter written to him by Khirad. This letter exposed all truth to Ashar and his mother’s plan to separate him from Khirad. Although Humsafar was flawlessly shot but it is little bit hard to digest that how come Ashar didn’t read the letter before when it was actually handed over to him by his servant? why did he put the letter in that wedding album box? We all knew that the conclusion of Humsafar drama relied on Khirad’s letter and when Ashar discovered that letter the drama got finished in the very next episode.
Durr e Shahwar: Shandana’s mother (Durr e Shahwar) told Shandana that life is not a bed of roses. Being married to Mansoor it was hard for her to make her Mother in law and Mansoor to realise that they were actually doing wrong to her. Although Durr e Shahwar gives Shandana a consolidation to sort out her marital problems by revealing her story but it was her father’s letters that helped Shandana to fix all problems with Haider.
Pyaray Afzal: Throughout the whole drama everyone was discussing the same thing that who was actually writing letters to Afzal. Everyone was hooked up to this drama for one solid suspense and that was Farah’s letters in Afzal’s cupboard. At one point we have started believing that it was Farah herself writing letters to Afzal, some believed that Lubna is interested in Afzal and she was writing those letters with Farah’s name. Those who suggested that it was Afzal writing letters to himself were right as Afzal from the beginning had always loved Farah. Poor Afzal as he was shot dead while Farah actually wrote letter to him in the end. The intense grieve prevailed among viewers even after drama got finished.
Laa: A short but engaging drama with diversified story from usual dramas stories. Laa was a visual treat to watch and got superbly ended without being dragged within 13 episodes. Daniyal’s journey came to end when he finally found his real mother and his step brother. Although Daniyal accomplished his mission but still upon knowing about his real mother he didn’t went to meet her. Hence he concluded his journey by writing letters to his real mother and to his friend Laila.
Mausam: Hashir’s new found love for his father Fayyaz was indeed a solid reason for Nigar’s death (Hashir Mother). Nigar had spent a long time in a painful state as Fayyaz’s wife who was a selfish man and can destroy anyone’s life for his wishes. Hashir believed that her mother was wrong and he started behaving rudely towards his mother. This triggered her health issues to become worst and she eventually died. Before death she left a letter for Hashir in which she compared shazia’s selfish character with Fayyaz. She explained to Hashir that his life will be ruined if he got married to Shazia same as her life was ruined while being married to Fayyaz. That letter was a heartfelt indeed for Hashir. Hence Mausam was yet another drama in which letter was used to head the drama towards conclusion.
Moreover Letters were also used as a leaving note thereby leaving heavy impact on receiver. In drama serial “Main Abdul Qadir Hoon” Abdul Qadir left a note for his mother that he is going however he came back after Faiz’s death. In “Bilquees Kaur” Anjuman ran from the house leaving a note for Bilquees in order to save herself from watta satta marriage and to get married to faraz. Furhermore “Rung” drama next episode promo (Episode 22) shows that Saniya will give a leaving note to Zafar as Zafar is not ready to forgive her or giving her any chance to remedy her mistake and this will definitely make Zafar realise about his cold hearted behaviour towards her.
So any more dramas in your knowledge where letters are used for conclusion or as a leaving note?
