Pakistani celebrities are admired for their realistic acting and for portraying characters that resonate with viewers. They have sorted social media personas and are seen portraying a well-orchestrated image. But at times, our stars end up putting their foot in their mouth and making irresponsible and uneducated statements. Polygamy is one such topic where we have seen many stars give the most bizarre takes during interviews.
In Pakistan, according to the law, a man cannot marry for the second time without gaining permission from his first wife. But Islam allows a man to marry four times, and this paradox is a topic for debate and gaining TRPs for channels and podcasts. Lately, Pakistani celebrities have given their takes on polygamy, and they are quite shocking to say the least:
Danish Taimoor
Danish Taimoor is a Pakistani celebrity who is loved by millions. He is currently one of the biggest stars of the drama industry, with all his dramas entering the billion-view club. He is loved for his on-screen persona and also for his marriage to superstar Ayeza Khan. The duo tied the knot over a decade ago and shares two children. Their bond is idolised by many; therefore, Danish Taimoor’s take on polygamy caught fans by surprise.
Danish Taimoor said that it is a man’s right to marry four times. Allah has given him the right. If he, as a man, is not doing that, it is by choice, but he has the right to polygamy. This happened while Ayeza Khan was sitting beside him. The statement caused quite an uproar, and Danish was trending for several weeks:
Saima Qureshi is another Pakistani celebrity who frequently makes headlines with her statements. She has lately given her opinions about extramarital affairs, polygamy, and women’s earnings. She is also a proponent of multiple marriages. The actress said that men should get married again, and this should not be a problem. She added that extramarital affairs have become so common nowadays. Instead of having an affair in the haram, get married in a halal and proper manner.
Hira Soomro
Hira Soomro is another Pakistani celebrity who is a proponent of polygamy. She thinks men can marry more than once, and this should not be a problem. During a podcast, Hira Soomro stated that if a man is physically capable of marriage and can financially support four wives, he should consider marrying four times. She added that she would allow her husband to marry again if he felt like it. As long as a man is financially responsible, polygamy is not a problem. She added that there are men who cannot control themselves, and marrying in a halal way is better than having affairs.
Shahid Afridi
Shahid Afridi is another Pakistani celebrity who has often been asked if he will marry again. He is a father to five daughters and now a grandfather to two children. The star has always lightly dismissed these questions, but he never forgets to show admiration for his wife, Nadia Afridi. In an old interview, he stated that his marriage was arranged by his parents. At that time, he thought he would marry again if this did not work out. But his wife is a blessing, and he is happy with his life.
Fiza Ali
Fiza Ali is also among Pakistani celebrities who openly expressed their opinion on the topic of four marriages. During a show, she called out men who want to marry four times. She said men are always talking about marrying four times. Islam has permitted men to marry multiple times, but it is not mandatory. Furthermore, this permission was granted to ensure that widows, orphans, and single mothers receive support. However, men often develop new romantic interests and remarry without addressing their previous commitments. If that’s the case, they should consider divorcing their first wife before seeking another partner.
Yasir Hussain
Yasir Hussain is a Pakistani celebrity with the most unique take on four marriages. The actor said that he is a man who fell in love with a girl and then married her. What is the logic behind looking at another woman? He added that in most cases of polygamy, it is the women who are looking for stable men, and they will become second wives for financial stability.
Iqrar Ul Hassan
Iqrar ul Hassan stands out among famous Pakistani celebrities due to his unique situation. He has been married three times and practices polygamy. His two wives, Qurutulain Iqrar and Aroosa Iqrar, even live together. In contrast, his third wife, Farah Iqrar, maintains a distance. Iqrar is often asked about managing his marriages in various interviews. Despite having three wives, he advises other men to marry only once. He notes that people often do not understand the circumstances behind his decisions, implying that his experiences are not common.
Faysal Quraishi, a notable Pakistani celebrity, has shared his views on the topic of four marriages. As a host for Ramadan transmissions and someone who has studied Islamic perspectives, he stated that Islam does not outright prohibit four marriages; rather, it limits them to a maximum of four. He emphasized that this is his personal opinion, noting that Islam places restrictions on men who may wish to marry multiple times. According to him, these guidelines were established to ensure fairness, as a man must provide justice to all his wives, a challenge that, in his view, is not feasible for everyone.
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi’s perspective on polygamy has been regarded as one of the most insightful among Pakistani celebrities. When asked about his views on the topic, the actor expressed that he is content with being in just one marriage. He noted that while Islam permits up to four marriages under specific conditions, it is primarily for the purpose of supporting widows or orphans in need.

Recently, Farah Yousaf addressed the rumors of her separation from anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan.
Talking about it, Farah said, “Many people, like you, know me through my surname, Yousaf. Now, people know me as Farah Iqrar. Yousaf is my father’s name, and there’s no relationship more special than that of a father. Sometimes, I feel like changing my bio from Farah Iqrar to Farah Yousaf. Yesterday, a fan asked if I had separated from Iqrar-ul-Hassan because my name appeared as Farah Yousaf. On most of my social media accounts, I’ve written Yousaf because they’re old, and due to verification issues, I can’t change them. If I change the names on my verified accounts, I’ll lose the verification, which is why I haven’t updated them. Both names are mine, and both are very dear to me. There are personal reasons why I’ve kept Yousaf as my surname. There is no separation between us, people write whatever they want”. Here is the link to the video:
Khushhal Khan and Mamya Shajafar are two popular Pakistani actors known for their hit TV appearances. Fans love Khushhal for his dramas like Wehshi, Yahya, Duniyapur, and Biryani, while Mamya is admired for Meesni and Jaan Se Pyara Juni. The two actors worked together in an English web series titled Crossroads. The story centers on their characters — Burak, a charismatic tech professional, and Haya, a dedicated game developer — whose past breakup continues to affect their lives. The series explores themes of modern relationships, personal growth, and the journey of love and redemption.
Khushhal Khan and Mamya Shajafar’s web series is currently doing rounds on social media after a few clips from it were shared by viewers who watched it. The social media users also reviewed and criticized the fake English accent of the main leads. Here is the link to the video where Burak and Haya are having arguments:
Social media users are trolling the English accent of the main leads. One wrote, “Why dub an Urdu drama in English? Urdu is such a beautiful language.” Another said, “It’s giving AI writing paired with AI voice-over and terrible acting. At least I can understand his words, but hers — I just don’t know what she’s saying. This is so terrible.” Another wrote, “I hate when Pakistani dramas start speaking English; it’s so annoying (different if it’s done in a comedic way like Hina Dilpazeer did).” One taunted, “For a second, I thought auto-dub was on.” Many said it is embarrassing to watch and questioned why actors like Khushhal Khan need to pick such scripts. A fan said, “I thought Biryani started playing in English.” One fain said, “Lazawal Ishq makes more sense than this stupid webseires” Read comments:
Nayyar Ejaz is a legendary Pakistani television and film actor known for portraying villainous characters in hit Pakistani dramas. He has appeared in countless popular TV dramas, including Laag, Laaj, Dhuwan, Janjaal Pura, Dour, Barfi Aur Laddo, Dayan, Cheekh, and many others. He has also starred in successful films such as Na Maloom Afraad 2, Teefa in Trouble, and Baaji. Nayyar Ejaz is celebrated for his versatile performances in negative roles in hit PTV dramas. The actor revealed that he often faces severe public backlash for his impactful negative characters. In the recent past, he played a negative role in Dayan, which received critical acclaim.
Recently, Nayyar Ejaz appeared on The Sani Podcast, where he revealed the names of Pakistani actors who are known for arriving late on set.
Talking about it, Nayyar Ejaz didn’t hesitate to mention some big names from the Pakistani entertainment industry. He said, “Nadeem Sahab (Nadeem Baig) used to come late on set. Our film actor Shaan Shahid also used to arrive late. The rest of the actors would usually come on time. Yes, nowadays, there’s a girl named Sonya Hussyn — she is a great actor, but she comes late on set.”
Soon after the launch of Pakistan Idol Season 2, the show stirred a major controversy involving its judges — Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Bilal Maqsood, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Many questioned the credibility of the Pakistan Idol judging panel. Initially, social media users criticized the selection of judges, a sentiment later echoed by singer Humaira Arshad. Now, senior Pakistani journalist Naeem Hanif has also expressed his disapproval of the panel.
In his podcast on RNN News, Naeem Hanif criticized the Pakistan Idol judges, stating that Bilal Maqsood, Zeb Bangash, and Fawad Khan are not suitable choices for the judging panel.
Talking about the judges, Naeem Hanif said, “All the people other than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can’t be called judges. Even if any of them are doing music, that won’t make them eligible to judge others. They are not right for the seat. Yes, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can get a margin to judge an upcoming singer. There is also an objectionable thing that he is being given a side seat; he must be better given a main spot and the other members after rating the singers, should refer the singer to him for the final decision, if you have to go with the same jury. He should be treated there like a King. There is a member from Karachi who was in the musical band, I have heard he has done music but Fawad Khan as judge is questionable. I have heard, he has done music with Ahmed Ali Butt. Being Madam Noor Jahan nawasa doesn’t make you a good singer. Fawad Khan and Ahmed will be more or less similar kind of singers if they had been part of a band. About Fawad Khan, the criticism is he should judge acting auditions.”
Vaneeza Ahmed is a renowned former top Pakistani model who ruled the fashion industry for years. She also gained significant fame as an actress, with notable dramas such as Tum Se Mil Ker, Zanjeer, Na Janay Kia Huga, Tum Hi To Ho, and others. More recently, she appeared in hit serials like Ehd-e-Wafa and Kuch Ankahi, earning praise for her brilliant performances in both. Vaneeza Ahmed is happily married and has two adorable daughters. Despite her success, Vaneeza has faced multiple personal tragedies, including losing her father in childhood, her younger sister a few years ago, and dealing with health issues.
Recently, Vaneeza appeared on ARY Digital’s morning show hosted by Nida Yasir, where she opened up about how the tragic passing of her younger sister Isha at age 25 in a car accident deeply changed her as a person. She also spoke about the difficult times her family faced after her father’s death and shared how the power of dua (prayer) transformed her life.
Talking about father’s death Vaneeza Ahmed said, “I wanted to become a doctor because of my grandfather, who was a doctor. Unfortunately, my father passed away at the age of 39. I missed the admission deadline and later got myself enrolled in Canaird College. I never went to medical school because everything changed for us — my mother was left with three children and had to earn like a man. She was a woman who hadn’t completed her education, so we all became breadwinners. My mother eventually started selling property; she used to have houses constructed and then sell them. I didn’t live my life according to others’ expectations — people thought we should live a mediocre life because we were orphans. But we decided to make something out of our lives and stepped out of our comfort zones. We had never paid bills ourselves before, but we had to learn to do everything on our own. When we stay in our comfort zones, we limit our true potential. “
Talking about her illness, Vaneeza Ahmed said, “I was following my dreams and doing great in life. I thought I was invincible, that nothing could ever bring me down. I was flying high—until Allah showed me otherwise. Once, while traveling, I started having constant headaches. My vision began to blur, and I started forgetting things. I even missed my interviews. When our colleague Mr Ali Mehmood asked why I wasn’t showing up for interviews and was told what was happening to me, he came to visit me and diagnosed that I have meningitis. While I was being treated for it, my lymph nodes started swelling, and doctors told me they had found cancer cells—it was stage zero cancer. My friend Shaheen took me to a spiritual healer who gave me a book of duas for cancer treatment. I refused to believe I had cancer but started reciting those duas secretly. A month later, when I went for the test, the doctors told me there had been a mistake—there were no cancer cells. I truly believe it was the power of dua that changed everything for me at that time. Now, after researching, I’ve learned that Quranic verses have healing powers. The recitation itself brings healing. I believe it was the Quran that healed me.”
Talking about how her sister’s accident changed her life, Vaneeza Ahmed said, “We all have to go — that’s the one truth that can’t be changed. But her passing at 25 changed things for me. People say she passed away untimely, but nothing is truly untimely. I became inquisitive about where the spirit goes after death, and after doing my research, I realized that she came, did her job, and moved from this world to another. She fulfilled her purpose, and we all are doing the same. Allah’s world is vast, filled with trillions of entities, and we are just tiny particles among His creations. We die when our soul’s purpose in this world ends and exactly the same happened with my younger sister. The lesson I derived from her death was a reminder of life’s reality once again— that we all have to leave one day, something we often forget. Her death brought me closer to Allah.” Here is the link to the video:

Good Morning Pakistan is a popular ARY Digital morning show hosted by Nida Yasir, where experts, artists, and professionals come to share ideas and tips. The show’s episodes are divided among actors, health experts, and various other professionals to ensure diverse content. Today, Nida invited health and wellness experts Dr. Bilquees, Dr. Batool, and Dr. Sidra.
The guests of Good Morning Pakistan shared several natural remedies for managing common issues such as pain, anger, and stress. This segment provided the audience with holistic advice for maintaining a balanced life.
While talking about anger management at home, Dr. Batool said “Eat your stress — it’s a new trend, a new research-based approach. You have to differentiate between anger and stress. Anger remedies are even mentioned in Hadith like if you are standing, sit down; if you are sitting, stand up; or drink water. ‘Eat your stress’ means when you’re angry, your happy hormones go down, making you more irritable. So now anger is seen as a form of stress. Drink water and eat fruits like guava, apple, or banana after sprinkling some lemon juice or salt on them. This helps manage stress. For instance, If I shout at my son, I soon regret it after realizing it. That’s why it’s said: eat your stress — bananas immediately release melatonin and stimulate your hormones, making you feel happy.”
Dr. Bilquees shared a natural remedy for pain. She said, “Take a bitter gourd (Karela) , chop it, and use its liquid as a natural pain reliever. You can apply it anywhere on the body and feel instant relief. Try it on your wrist or any painful area and share your feedback — it helps reduce inflammation and pain.”
Dr. Batool also suggested a simple remedy for migraine, “Ice your Face. Take some ice and place it at the back of your ears, it will help reduce the migraine pain. It immediately relieves pain. Similarly, you can use ice for tooth pain. Avoid heavy painkillers and rely on ice for natural pain relief.”
She further recommended using a roller pin for pain relief, saying, “Roller pins are best for arthritis patients for targeted pain relief. Place your hands on it and roll — it stimulates blood circulation. Target the pressure points and use it wherever your body hurts.” Additionally, Dr. Bilquees advised using peppermint oil for headaches.

Secondly, he lost so much money — will he be able to bounce back after this much loss? This is why we say easy money goes easily. Our parents were right: hard-earned money stays and brings you respect and satisfaction. Besides, greed itself becomes a curse — if they have one crore, they wish for twenty. As a mother, I feel so satisfied because these top YouTubers flaunted a lifestyle that influenced our kids. After Ducky Bhai’s case, millions of children learned a valuable lesson — that they should focus on education instead of chasing easy fame and money which they got by showing their wives in their daily vlogs.” Here is the link to the video:

Recently, Haroon Shahid appeared on Good Morning Pakistan, where he talked about his Nikah memories. He also shared his feelings about becoming a father to an adorable son.
Talking about his Nikah, Haroon said, “I have an unforgettable memory related to my Nikah because it took two hours! My in-laws are Pashto-speaking, and there were some cultural differences. We went for the Nikah, but there was a long and unpleasant situation regarding Haq Meher. Although,we told them our suggestions and there was no misunderstandings but still there was something off. It is a strange memory, we still feel shocked when we recall it. We, being Punjabi, suggested a figure, but it became an issue because of their cultural customs. It felt unsettling at that time, but now we laugh about it.” Maryam Noor also added that the Punjabi people usually settle for whatever Haq Meher is suggested by the in-laws, but Pashtuns don’t agree on anything less than what they demand.”
Haroon further added, “When I became a father, it was a life-changing moment for me. I think fathers truly realize how fatherhood feels like when they hold their child for the first time. It was an overwhelming experience — I remember my mother was crying. There’s also a funny memory: the nurses at the hospital caught me for pictures and I got dragged into another situation. I was so shocked because one of them was telling everyone, ‘He’s an actor who just became a father!’”

Her most notable dramas include Aanch, Kashkol, Jangloos, Khala Kulsoom Ka Kunba, Uper Gori Ka Makan, Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saya, Zindan, Mere Damad, Baiti, and others. Fans also love her presence in the popular Pakistani sitcom Bulbulay.
In September 2024, Shagufta Ejaz took a short break from the media after the death of her husband, Yahya Siddiqui, but made a comeback with a significant weight-loss transformation. Not only this, her weight continues to decrease, and many fans have noticed that she now appears almost anorexic. Her daughters—Haya and Anya—and her son-in-law, Hamza, have also lost a noticeable amount of weight and claim to follow a normal eating routine like others.
The extreme weight loss of Shagufta Ejaz’s family has already sparked an online debate, with many claiming that the entire family is using Ozempic, especially after spotting Glp1 injections in Anya’s vlog. However, the family insists that their transformation is the result of natural weight loss through diet and portion control. Read the screenshots shared by Get A Life Celeb’s page:
Social media users believe that the kind of transformation the whole family is undergoing simultaneously clearly indicates that they are all on Ozempic. One wrote, “I knew it when I saw their faces all slimmed down. The first sign is when you lose face muscles. Anyway, let them live,” Another commented, “You can tell by looking at their faces how someone loses weight — definitely Ozempic. Obviously, it’s their money and their choice, but at least don’t bluff. Accept it! You’re promoting a healthy way of weight loss while lying about it.” One person said, “The whole family is fake!” Another predicted, “Now wait for their vlog where they’ll explain everything, making it sound like it’s no big deal — saying it’s personal and wasn’t even theirs, blah blah. Such fake and low-level content just to sell her degree and skincare brand.”

Jama Taqseem is a new Pakistani drama airing on Hum TV. The drama is written by Sarwat Nazir and directed by Ali Hassan. On the surface level, it is the story of every household in Pakistan, but once you look deep, the show has made excellent commentary on the joint family system, the burdens of relationships in one’s life and how unrealistic expectations of the older generation end up destroying the younger lot.
Jama Taqseem is the story of a family consisting of three married brothers who live under one roof with their parents. This may look like a fairytale from the outside, but the monsters lurking inside are swept under the carpet. The drama has been able to teach a lot of lessons without becoming preachy, and it is a hit with the audience, although it was not properly promoted by the channel. Let us look at the biggest lessons Jama Taqseem has taught us:
Islamic Point Of View On Joint Families
Jama Taqseem is boldly taking on a topic that is mostly romanticised on our television. Most of our young adults grew up watching Hum Saath Saath Hain on television while their homes played The Lion King. Joint family systems are very common in Pakistan, and the elder generation always tries to put rose-tinted glasses on the younger generation to keep everyone under one roof. But it almost always ends up in resentment, abandonment, and concealed hatred. Islam is against this system, and every family is encouraged to live separately. Jama Taqseem is speaking about this openly with Laila’s friend, referring to how it is obligatory on a man to give a separate home and privacy to his wife.
Rigidity Of Older Generation
Jama Taqseem has shed light on the rigidity of the older generation. How they never let new ideas flow in and show resistance to change has been accurately portrayed in the show. From our common household to the corridors of power, Pakistan has a deep-rooted culture of older people know better. Thus, new ideas are suppressed and a fresh approach is disregarded. In the drama, Javed Sheikh and Beo Zafar have shown how our elders are not open to any change, even if the whole structure of the family gets destroyed.
Teenage Cousins Living Under One Roof
Jama Taqseem has boldly taken on a less-travelled road with this one. Pakistan tops the list for the most cousin marriages, with 61% marriages in the country happening within the families. Our drama films also have a plot where two cousins fall in love, thus the relationship is not at all sibling-like. In many households, harassment does happen, and it is brushed under the carpet. A girl’s reputation generally becomes he point of conflict, while boys are not even reprimanded for the heinous crimes they have committed. Sidra and Zeeshan’s track has exposed the reality of many families.
Shared Business – Blessing Or Curse?
Money is the root of conflicts amongst many families. Jama Taqseem has shown how a shared business, in most cases, becomes a curse rather than a blessing. The elder brother, Hameed, is insecure as he has invested a lot of money in the business, and he is scared to lose the lion’s share; thus, he is always busy in conspiracies. At the same time, the younger brother, Majeed, was always underconfident and thought that he had to listen to all the unreasonable demands of his father and brother, as he did not invest anything in the business. Proper shares for both sons could have saved the family from conflict, and it would have given them enough independence and dignity to live their lives with happiness.
Hidden Contempt Towards Girl Child
We are in the year 2025, but a male child is still preferred over a female child in our parts of the world. Jama Taqseem has shed light on this topic in a very non-preachy way. In a household that looks normal on the surface, misogyny runs deep. They preferred their male grandchild over their female grandchild. The son with two daughters is not respected in the office, while his wife tries to make up for being the mother of two girls by taking care of all the household chores. Majeed and Rashida act like sinners when they have not done anything wrong, while Nudrat walks like a queen because she has a son.
Household Chores
Jama Taqseem is a total winner on this topic. The drama has shown how it is considered a crime for men to help with household chores. Qais is insulted in front of everyone just because he helped his wife with laundry. Men don’t even go into the kitchen for basic chores when our religion has taught us to learn and do everything in the house, regardless of gender.
At the same time, Laila’s character shows that even if you come from an elite background, you should at least know the basics, like cooking and laundry. Living like a princess is not an ideal situation for anyone, as you may have to encounter different conditions in the future.
Social Parity in Marriage Matters
Adjustment is a part of marriage, but when you marry into a completely different social background, it becomes a war. Laila comes from a nuclear and liberal family, while Qais comes from a conservative background with a joint family at its core. Though they are both trying hard to reconcile these backgrounds, their families are not helping, and this in the end takes a toll on a new marriage.
Parents Shape The Path Ahead
Jama Taqseem has emphasized how parents pave the path of their children’s lives. Laila’s parents have given her freedom and she is able to objectively analyze situations and the world around her. Qais’s parents, on the other hand, promoted delusion in their children and they are all delusional about their realities. Similarly, Nudrat and Hameed promoted their son’s superiority complex and power in the household, thus, making him into the monster he has become today.
Importance Of Listening To Your Children
Life is tough, and being a parent multiplies the difficulties one is facing. From financial to social pressures, couples go through many difficulties, and at times they start ignoring their children’s voices. Jama Taqseem demonstrated how Rashida failed to heed her daughter’s pleas. Rashida is living a hard life, but ignoring your own child’s pain can lead them to painful consequences. Her daughter tried to inform her what she was going through but she ignored her pain. Listening to your children is very important, as parents are a child’s only line of defence against a cruel world.
Unrealistic Expectations From New Brides
Jama Taqseem is talking about how in-laws, despite knowing that their daughter-in-law comes from a different background, are trying to suppress her personality. They try to mould her according to their likes from the very first day, to the point where they are controlling what she can wear. They also want her to start cooking and cleaning for a large family, and do not even give her time to learn. Proper time should be given to a new family member after marriage, before bullying and criticizing them.
Which important lesson do you think Jama Taqseem is imparting? Share in comments!

Khawar Riaz spoke about how social media has changed the fabric of society. He said people are always showing off and saying things that are not their reality. If you go to a restaurant, you will share pictures of the food. He adds showing off your clothes or wealth to others is like asking them to get that for themselves with whatever means possible. He said this is like mocking people who cannot afford those luxuries.
This is what he said:
Khawar Riaz also called out Pakistani actresses on award shows. He said they all start wearing western gowns when they should be representing Pakistani style. He added that he sees them trying to speak in English. Why do you have to speak English when the audience is not English and our own people are then complex and they will troll anyone who makes any mistakes in the English language. These stars need to realize who they are and represent their identity.
