Cannes Film Festival is considered a prestigious film festival held every year in Cannes, France. This year a Pakistani film is also shortlisted for screening at Cannes Film Festival.

The film name is Abdullah The Final Witness starring Imran Abbas Naqvi and Saadia Khan, Written and Directed by Hashim Nadeem.

Hashim Nadeem hails from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan and the film is also based on the incident of 17 May 2011 happened in Quetta. The incident is known as Kharotabad incident in which five Russian and Tajik citizen (men and women) were killed by Frontier Constabulary (FC) claimed to be as terrorist at the check post of Kharotabad. The incident was filmed by a journalist and later media aired same videos claiming all the killed ones were innocent citizen. Then Chief Justice of Pakistan took sou motto notice of this incident, and a commission was asked to prepare the Kharotabad Inquiry Report. The findings of the inquire were never made public and the case is still unresolved like any other important cases in our history. A key witness of this incident was murdered in Quetta in December 2011.

2015 is the year, in which our Censor Board has banned quite many films. First it was Bollywood’s Baby (February 2015), then Bangistan (August 2015). Both movies were refused censor certificates for their objectionable content. In August 2015, another Bollywood film Phantom was banned by Lahore High Court.

The story not ends here, few Pakistani films are also banned. First the Central Borad for Film Censors (CBFC), refused to issue screening certificate to Swaarangi saying the film portrays Pakistan in a negative way. Ironically the same film was issues censor certificate without any cuts by the Punjab and Sindh censor boards. Swaarangi was released on 11th September 2015 in Punjab and Sindh, however it was not released in the Federal terrorities (Islambad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir) and the Cantonement areas in all the cities.

After Swaarangi, now another film Abdullah – The Final Witness has also been banned by Central Board for Film Censors (CBFC). The twisted “gol mol” logic stated by censor board is “the topic is controversial in the current security situation of the country”.

In response to this argument of CBFC, Hashim Nadeem the producer and director of the film has also written a letter to the CBFC. Interestingly it was the first major Pakistani film screened at Cannes Festival. However CBFC, considered it unsuitable for screening in Pakistan.

The trailer of the film was released in January 2015 while the film was expected to release in the summer of 2015. However as the subject of the film involves the role of security agencies, which is considered sensitive; the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) refused to issue the censor certificate required to screen a film in cinemas despite multiple meetings with Hashim Nadeem.

The fate of the film became uncertain until today when the distributor announced that the film is finally releasing.

Director Farooq Rind is the man behind Bhallay and he is the one who created this character for Ishq Murshid.

Abdul Sattar Edhi needs no introdution. He has done a great deal of service for the people of Pakistan through his Edhi Foundation. Pakistani cricketers have been criticized in the past for not thinking before they speak multiple times and the latest one to put his foot in the mouth is none other than ex-cricketer Abdul Razzaq. Recently, Pakistan Cricket Team had a dismal performance in the World Cup 2023 and as is the tradition in Pakistan, old and new cricketers are grouping up to sit on live television and analyze performance of the captain and get him sacked from the position. One such big presser was held last night with big names from old times Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Abdul Razzaq and Misbah sitting together and giving their two cents.

Abdul Razzaq was also giving his analysis when he decided to launch himself on a misogynistic and embarrassing tirade and made some really inappropriate comments about Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

Abdul Razzaq is a Pakistani former cricketer, who played all formats of the game. Abdul Razzaq has recently appeared in a cricket special show bouncer on Ary News hosted by Shoaib Jatt.

In the show, the compare asked Abdul Razzaq about the rumors of his love affair with stage dancer Deedar and the perception of people around him that he will get married to her. Responding to this Razzaq replied saying, “Yes these perceptions were right, I became friends with Deedar in 1999 and we were so close but I never promised her about getting married, We had left this decision on time. Later on, I gave our relationship 6 months before the final decision but Deedar refused to leave her career and I was not able to marry her without making her leave her profession because that wasn’t acceptable in my family.

Former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq who served the national team as an all-rounder recently came under fire for his remarks about the women cricketers in a show “G Sarkar”. Abdul Razzaq along with Nida Dar was invited at the show.

Nida Dar was talking about the cricket opportunities for girls. The topic was then converted to marriages that how women leave cricket after getting married. Nida added that women try to play cricket as much as they can before they get married. Abdul Razzaq then added his chauvinistic remarks saying that women cricketers don’t get married. They have such a profession, that in their struggle to become equal to men all of their desires regarding marriage fades. He also added that if you shake hands with Nida you will feel like it’s a man’s hand, not a woman’s. To which Nida replied that it is because of all the exercise and practice.

While replying to Nadir Ali’s question, “did you earn more money from leagues or from national cricket?, Abdul Razzaq replied, “we have earned more from Pakistani teams, at that time, there were many one days and test matches. We used to get 10 thousand per match in 1996, In 2000, we started getting 2.5 lac rupees. In India, the amounts for the first class cricket were huge. We played with a decent average, we used to play 35 one days and 10 test matches per year, all our earnings were due to national cricket team”. He said that there were no central contracts before 2001.

Talking about the match fee during the time he left cricket, Razzaq said, “the fee increased up 6.5 lac rupees for ODIs and 10 Lac rupees for test matches and now it has massively increased”. He further said that they used to have good sponsors and ads at that time.

In the recent turns of event Abdul Razzaq landed in hot waters as a video clip from the show G Sarkar” went viral in which Abdul Razzaq was invited along with Nida Dar. As the video started making rounds on the internet, Abdul Razzaq started receiving hate for his misogynist remarks. Abdul Razzaq recently took Twitter to clarify his position. In clarification tweet, Abdul Razzaq clarifies that whatever he said was in a light-hearted way and he also wholeheartedly accepted that his choice of words and presentation was poor and wrong. He also stated that he admires and respects all the women especially women cricketers who made great strides. he said that Nida Dar is our shining star. he also wrote that he called Nida Dar and clarifies his position.

Cricketer Abdul Razzaq is a famous name from the yesteryear cricketers. He has played nicely for Pakistan and now we see him on different shows where he is generally giving his cricket analysis on games. He was a part of a recently held old cricketers presser on the recently concluded World Cup. Though the presser meant to target the captain Babar Azam’s performance, what came out of it was a misogynistic statement by Abdul Razzaq.

The cricketer had passed inappropriate comments about Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai which did not sit well with Pakistani netizens and they harshly criticized him on his choice of words.

Abdul Razzaq has now apologized for his comments. His fellow cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar had also clarified that Afridi did not listen to him when he uttered those words and Afridi later on suggested to him that he should apologize.

 From social and electronic media, I have came across this news and want to share it with my readers that Abdul Razzaq and Tamanna Bhatia Indian Model and Actress, are in serious relationship. I want to add up here that our cricketer , Razzaq, is already married and leading a very nice life with two kids. On the other side, Razzaq and Tamanna were also caught in Dubai,in Feb 2013, while launching a jewelry shop together.

All I know previously was that Tamanna and Viraat Kohli are in relationship. And now suddenly this news shocked me.Further, Why Razzaq wants to get married again to Tamanna if he is having a perfect family and  living a prosperous life.Is this common man psychology that man should have more than one wives or is he trying to follow the footsteps of our Former cricketer Imran Khan and and  Shoaib Malick? Oh yeah, who can forget Waseem Akram who recently got married to an Australian lady. It seems that it has now become a trend to bring one foreigner wife.. :P

I am confused about Tamanna that what is she trying to do with her life? Is she not feeling secure with Viraat Kohli ? I mean, he is such a famous cricketer,who earned such a huge fan following in such a small time. Comapred to Razzaq, Kohli is a bachelor, more young and has a long way to go. Razzaq is getting older plus  he is already married  than what is making her attracted towards Razzaq? Is that the same attraction that attracted Sania towards Shoaib ? :P

No matter what, I am strictly against this relationship. I hope that this would be just a rumor and I would be proved  wrong or their relationship has ended.
