Mushk Episode 21 Story Review – Difficult Decisions Ahead

This was another well-paced episode of Mushk which focused on all the tracks. The story has taken an exciting turn, and there are so many important decisions that will be made in the upcoming episodes. The only person completely missing in action right now is dada. Mehak is for now only relying on Muna for advice and in the upcoming episode, she will finally make a definite decision. Adam shared the truth with his mother and this particular aspect of the story was handled a little too lightly. Adam and Guddi’s opening scene was one of the best tonight. Apart from that Chaudhry’s scenes gave me goosebumps; kudos to Hassan Ahmed for playing this character so well. The strongest part of the script has to be the clarity with which the story has been taken forward and the focus has remained on all the tracks. At this point, it feels that the story will start wrapping up gradually so that all these tracks can have a convincing ending.

Adam and Guddi

Adam and Guddi’s opening scenes were penned down and acted-out brilliantly. Guddi’s dialogue about what love really means was right on point! This was her way of telling Adam that they were meant to be together since they were both giving each other the love they never got. Adam is a lot like Moosa from Raqs-e-Bismil when it comes to falling in love – always in denial! For him, love means respecting someone and being there for that person unconditionally. When his mother asked him if he had a liking for Guddi, his answer said a great deal about his character. Unlike Moosa, he is a kind person, and playing the savior comes naturally to him. Urwa Hocane and Imran Ashraf’s on-screen chemistry makes you root for this on-screen couple. The writer has done a commendable job of making the viewers understand why these two eventually fell for each other. Even though Guddi is in love with Adam, she is more than willing to accept his love for Mehak. She told him that she was going to help him in whatever way she could. Guddi is gradually changing into a completely different person; she is willing to help someone out without expecting anything in return.

Mushk Episode 21 Story Review – Difficult Decisions Ahead

Adam finally told his mother everything but this scene was executed too casually just like the scene in one of the previous episodes in which Mehak revealed the secret to Adam. His mother was not shocked enough and there weren’t too many questions. No matter how nice someone is, digesting such shocking information so patiently is just not possible. However, it showed Adam’s honesty and the kind of faith he has in his mother. Adam’s scenes with his sister have always been my favorite; heart-warming and genuine. This time around too his sister understood what he was going through more than anyone else. I would have liked to see more of them instead of Mehak’s conversation with Muna.

Time To Take Revenge

I was expecting Guddi and Chaudhry’s scene to be darker but thankfully that was not the case. Chaudhry is thankful to Guddi and clearly attracted to her therefore he was gentle towards her. He was more eager to take revenge from those who had caused him harm. The first victim turned out to be Zulekha’s brother and for obvious reasons, the writer is making us wait for his first confrontation with Zulekha. The doctor is mareez e ishq at the moment and it remains to be seen if he will be killed. Guddi seemed in control even though Chaudhry was a clear threat to her. Zulekha did not doubt Guddi for a second. I feel that after everything that happened with Roshni, she is not the same person anymore. I am especially missing dada because even if he is sick, he should have been in the picture tonight.

Mehak Makes a Decision

Finally, Mehak also decided to make an important decision; she wants khula so that she can finally move on. When she broke this news to Guddi, her expressions were priceless. Guddi knows that Adam will be more than willing to marry Mehak once she is no longer Shayan’s wife. In this manner, however, Mehak will eventually get in touch with Shayan and hopefully, they can finally be together. She will make an even bigger decision in the upcoming episode, and that is when Adam will have to make a tough choice. Perhaps, this is how Adam will realize his true feelings for Guddi. He is in love with Guddi whether he admits it or not and he wants to make her happy. On the other hand, Mehak ‘was’ the love of his life, the only woman he only wanted to marry. I am eagerly waiting for his reply and his reaction.

Shayan seems to be in a bargaining position now that he is married to Muqaddar Khan’s daughter. His dialogues suggested just that and pointed out a bitter reality of our society – definitely not one which is ever pleasing to hear! I am wondering how he will react once he gets the khula notice.

Final Remarks

The unpredictability of the plot and the element of intrigue continue to be Mushk’s strengths. It is one of those few dramas that stay interesting right till the end. Although, I am slightly disappointed that Guddi never found out what actually happened with Roshni. Overall, however, the script has been well-put-together. I am looking forward to an ending that will be just as convincing, impactful, and gratifying as the drama has been as a whole. Urwa Hocane, Imran Ashraf, and Hassan Ahmed’s phenomenal performances were the highlight of this episode. The love triangle has my undivided attention at the moment! Waiting to find out what happens next.

Mushk Episode 20 Story Review – New Beginnings

Tonight’s episode of Mushk marked a new beginning for Guddi and Adam. Adam is finally falling in love with Guddi and the writer Imran Ashraf deserves credit for taking this track forward in the most convincing manner. The old school romance between these two made me forget that we are living in an age where most of the communication is done through mobile phones! Most of us were waiting for Adam to fall for Guddi and we were also wondering how it will eventually happen. Gradually, Adam started to see beyond Guddi’s tough exterior and fell in love with that side of her personality that is hidden from the world. Other than their track, Zulekha’s husband’s track is getting interesting. Has Guddi unleashed a monster? Hassan Ahmed was especially impressive tonight since his demeanor was such that there was reason to be scared of him. Zulekha was perhaps saving everyone around him by making sure that he did not have the strength to cause more harm. For the first time, I felt that she wasn’t so wrong after all and perhaps she was doing everyone a favor! Mehak and Shayan’s track continues to be a snooze-fest; even with all their helplessness and bechargi, I find it impossible to feel for them!

The Outcome

Tonight’s episode for the most part covered the outcome of the journey which was supposed to be the beginning of a new life for Mehak. However, it ended up being an eye-opener for Adam. Adam has always been shown as a sensitive and loving individual therefore he immediately reconsidered his opinion about Guddi after watching how her mother treated her. For the first time, he saw how helpless Guddi was even though she looked like she was completely in control of her life. Since Adam is a wise person, he instantly realized his mistake. He started sharing how he felt about Guddi right after her meeting with her mother. This trip, therefore, played a vital role in bringing Adam and Guddi closer together. Guddi’s love for Adam was defined and explained so well in all of the conversations these two characters had. For a change, there is someone in Adam’s life who wants to make him happy the way he had tried all his life to make Mehak happy. The fact that Guddi is really honest about who she is and her feelings for Adam makes her character more likable. She judges herself just as neutrally as she does others around her. Her understanding of who she is has been crucial in making the viewers understand her character.

Mushk Episode 20 Story Review – New Beginnings

Imran Ashraf and Urwa Hocane’s performances and their on-screen chemistry made their scenes a treat to watch. Both these characters deserved to be loved since they have spent their entire life trying to please others therefore all of us have a reason to root for them. Adam’s honest apology and the surprising expressions on his face every time he looked into Guddi’s eyes suggested that he was indeed falling for her. For a change, Adam and Guddi were not talking about Mehak even though she was going through the most difficult phase of her life. They were both more eager to find out more about each other and share how they felt. There was a certain degree of shyness and a lot of reluctance but at the same time a definite attraction between Adam and Guddi.

Monster Unleashed

Zulekha’s husband set out to look for Guddi the minute he was on his feet. He decided not to kill his wife since that would have been an easy death for her. His negative side was unleashed in such a way in this episode that it was almost impossible to believe that this was the same helpless person who was laying on the bed begging for every little thing a few days back. Will Guddi regret her decision? Will she turn to the doctor yet again for help?

Mushk Episode 20 Story Review – New Beginnings

Mehak and Shayyan

Mehak had faith in Shayyan for all these years but after witnessing his nikkah, she has given up on him altogether. Her conversation with Muna was heart-warming but Sami Khan was not too comfortable delivering those heavy-duty dialogues. Mehak’s track has been more or less the same right from the beginning and Momal Sheikh’s performance leaves a lot to be desired. Shayyan questioned himself yet again but just like always he failed to do anything substantial to change things. I have a feeling that this track might end with Muqaddar Khan getting a stroke because Shayyan does not have the guts or the brains to do anything about the situation. This track continues to be the least interesting track in the story so far.

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode belonged to Imran Ashraf and Urwa Hocane; Guddi and Adam’s love story has finally started. I am however still wondering why Guddi still hasn’t found out what actually happened with Roshni and she did not even try to get in touch with Saqib. All of us wanted to see her reaction when she found out the details but so far she is more focused on Adam and the doctor. Guddi and Adam’s characters are the main attraction in the drama. I also really appreciate the way Imran Ashraf has added spiritual element to this drama intelligently. Every episode has at least one or two dialogues that make you self-reflect. Tonight, Shayyan questioning himself was one such scene that highlighted the importance of having faith in God.

Mushk Episode 19 Story Review – Justifications & Retribution

We all know that two wrongs don’t make a right but we rarely ever get to watch a story that focuses on that. Tonight’s episode showed that even with all the justifications all these characters have for their wrongdoings, they are going to pay for their actions eventually. Roshni’s dialogues tonight were the best since through her the writer put forward a really important message. Most of the characters in Mushk are flawed and each one of them has a specific backstory. None of these characters is evil without a reason which basically goes to show that the writer thought every single track through. Whether it is Saqib, Zulekha, or Muqaddar Khan, all of them are convinced that they are either punishing those who wronged them or setting things straight. Even Guddi in some ways falls in the same category. Tonight’s episode of Mushk had some beautifully written dialogues and a great deal happened. Even a supporting character such as Muna’s leaves an impact because of the way his association with Shahmir has been shown. The story took a few more unexpected turns and there is so much more to look forward to.

The Emotional Ride

Tonight’s episode opened with Adam driving Mehak to Shayan’s house. This emotional journey was written and executed beautifully. There was hope, anticipation, courage, and of course unconditional love. The way Guddi and Adam interact with each other has changed after Adam went with Guddi to her house. This journey therefore has changed a great deal. It was good to see Guddi telling Adam that she did not want anyone to feel sorry for her. I loved how Adam explained Guddi’s bitterness and she agreed in a way that she had tried really hard to hide her actual feeling for so long because she did not want anyone’s sympathy. This conversation was really interesting. Imran Ashraf’s performance was brilliant throughout. Those tears in his eyes waiting to roll down when Mehak was leaving to see Shahan were remarkable! Only Mehak can be foolish enough to not figure out how Adam actually feels even after all the clues he has given and the way he looks at her.

Mushk Episode 19 Story Review – Justifications & Retribution

Mehak and Guddi easily got in even though there wasn’t a large crowd present at the nikkah function. Muqaddar Khan already made it clear that it was going to be a low-key ceremony yet they witnessed the nikkah and no one noticed that they were there. This scene did not work for me at all since it wasn’t logical. Had they found out about the nikkah from someone else, it would have made more sense. So, that is how Mehak found out about the nikkah, and even though Adam wanted to go in and confront Shayan, she did not allow him to do so. The fact that Mehak and Shayan never met made sense because Muqaddar Khan wouldn’t have sat back and watched; he would have killed them both.

Dada and Muna’s Interaction

Although Dada and Muna’s interaction was covered in a short scene, I loved how Muna’s innocence and his love for Shahmir was reflected through this scene. He couldn’t eat because he was missing Shahmir but he couldn’t figure out what the problem was. Sami Khan is such a superb actor, he makes Muna’s character easier to connect to. Dada is the only character that confuses me since his love for Mehak is rather odd! He was really cruel and unfair which doesn’t go well with the fact that he ‘loves’ Mehak so much. Even though he was under pressure and awfully scared, some of the things he said were unforgivable and extremely regressive for someone who seems like an open-minded and loving person otherwise.

Mushk Episode 19 Story Review – Justifications & Retribution

Saqib and Roshni

It was good to see Saqib paying for what he had done to Roshni even though in his mind he had the perfect justification for his actions. His subconscious mind kept on reminding him that nothing in the past could justify what he had to Roshni. His dream, everything Roshni said to him, went to show that deep down he felt guilty and knew better. This was one of the most powerful scenes in this episode especially because Roshni is such an innocent girl who deserved better. Saqib did not only lose the money he took but also lost his sister, who was dearer to him than all the wealth in the world. Usually, we have to wait till the end to see characters being punished for their wrongdoing, I am glad Mushk is taking a different route.

Mushk Episode 19 Story Review – Justifications & Retribution

The Nikkah

I always find the scenes of this young girl being tied down in a relationship that is beyond her understanding and comprehension really disturbing. Tonight, we found out the logic behind Muqaddar Khan’s decision and the reason why he thinks he is doing the right thing. I found this entire track really impressive especially because there were no loose ends. Everything was covered from highlighting the mindset behind such practices to shedding light on the actual needs of a child. It also showed what the mother was going through and eventually, just like Roshni, it would be her ‘bud dua’ that would be the end of Muqaddar Khan.

Mushk Episode 19 Story Review – Justifications & Retribution

Final Remarks

Zulekha’s husband is back on his feet and ready to take revenge. Adam and Guddi’s love story is going to take off soon too and I really like the way it has started with Adam seeing a softer, more vulnerable side of Guddi. What is Mehak going to do next? Her track really needs to move on to a different direction. Tonight’s episode was entertaining and fast-paced with some brilliant messages to its credit. Sehar Khan was impressive in the confrontation scene even though her dialogues were elaborate and difficult to deliver.

Mushk Episode 18 Story Review – Moving On

This latest episode of Mushk was emotional and meaningful. The story moved forward considerably with Adam and Guddi in particular facing the most bitter truths of their lives with the utmost courage. The screenplay and performances were impressive as usual. The writer has intelligently highlighted the issue of child marriage even though this drama was never promoted as an issue-based drama. The scenes covering Shayan and his cousin’s interactions are always really disturbing which makes them even more impactful. I truly appreciate the overall approach of the writer while penning down the script; he has been really ‘forgiving’ and not judgmental while etching-out the characters. There is a sensitive side to most of these characters and a backstory which in some way justifies their present behavior.

Moving On….

The opening scenes of this episode showed that Adam was now willing to move on. In the previous episode, he asked Allah to give him the courage to accept reality and move on. In this episode, it was almost as if his prayers had been heard. Even though this is not going to be an easy transition but Adam made the first step towards that direction, by giving his sister many of those things which he had been buying for Mehak for all these years. This was such a meaningful way of showing that Adam was more willing than ever to accept the fact that Mehak did not need his love and affection. Adam’s interactions with his sister have always been heart-warming. Imran Ashraf makes sure that the love Adam feels for his sister comes alive on screen in these scenes and the actress playing the sister’s role performs really well in all these scenes. Adam’s concern for the people he loves is perhaps his most dominant personality trait which enables him to put his own feelings and needs in the background.

Mushk Episode 18 Story Review – Moving On

Adam was not his feisty self tonight while interacting with Guddi. He did not have the energy to confront her the way he always does. So much so that he asked her beforehand to take it easy! All these situations made it easier for me to relate to his pain. When he was driving Mehak to Shayan, he knew that he was the one these women were relying on and therefore he was gentle even towards Guddi. His point of view must have changed altogether after listening to Guddi’s conversation with her mother.

Guddi’s Sensitive and Vulnerable Side

Mehak also took a big step forward tonight and for the first time, she actually looked happy. The entire plan was such that no one had a reason to doubt Adam or Mehak’s intentions. There was another first in tonight’s episode; Guddi being happy for Mehak! For the longest time, we have seen Guddi deriving pleasure out of Mehak’s misery therefore it was good to see her supporting Mehak in this episode. The way Guddi defined khushi and ghum was superb! These dialogues were the best ones from this episode.

Guddi’s meeting with her mother was extremely emotional. This was another scene that showed the vulnerable side of a character who appears to be really strong on the surface. Guddi represents many women like her, who earn for their families yet they are not welcomed in their own houses. Even though most often it seems like Guddi does not care about anyone else except herself, the fact is that the only people she is truly looking out for are her parents and sister. Perhaps, being in control of certain situations is the only way she can feel good about her life. That is why she has a difficult time letting go of what Zulekha did to her. Someone like her who is completely capable of having her own way in such circumstances is completely helpless when it comes to her own family. Like any other person, she also wants love and acceptance from her family members but she is clearly not getting any of that. This journey to Shayan’s haveli was perhaps the best part of this drama so far. The dialogues and the situations were written brilliantly. Urwa Hocane, yet again, completely owned her character.

Shayan’s Track

Shayan’s track is being taken forward convincingly. Muqaddar Khan is intelligent enough to gauge that even now Shayan can back off from his commitment. He continued to put pressure on him through his brother-in-law and did not invite too many guests to the wedding. This entire track shows that there is nothing right about marrying a young child to a grown-up man. While this drama has men like the brother-in-law, Muqaddar Khan, and even Dr. Rana, there are also men like Shayan and Adam who know the difference between right and wrong. These men are also sensitive and responsible. Shayan’s reluctance to go ahead with this marriage was translated on screen brilliantly by Osama Tahir. Mehak will reach the haveli at the right time, it remains to be seen how Muqaddar Khan will react when he finds out the truth. Will he kill Shayan?

Mushk Episode 18 Story Review – Moving On

Roshni Asks For Forgiveness

Roshni finally met her father in this episode and asked him for forgiveness. His aggressive reaction served as a warning to Zulekha who was clever enough to figure out that her husband is now well enough to react in such a manner. There is a difference between his personality now that he knows the truth and is feeling better. Dr. Rana is madly in love once again and this time around too he is letting a woman use her! It is upsetting watching a doctor with such a casual approach towards his profession. He has always put his love life above his professional life. Even when he was with Zulekha, attending to her needs was always more important than looking after his patients.

Mushk Episode 18 Story Review – Moving On

Final Remarks

Except for Shayan’s brother-in-law’s scenes, all the other scenes were brilliantly written and executed. The story has taken yet another interesting turn and anything is possible at the moment. It is highly unlikely that Mehak will get her happy ending. Guddi’s dialogues about khushi also suggested that happiness is short-lived! I am waiting to find out what happens next.

Mushk Episode 17 Story Review – Adam Saves The Day

Tonight’s episode of Mushk focused a great deal on Roshni’s return and laid down the foundations for some of the most important developments. Some of the conversations were stretched while there were others that contributed to the story. Just like every other episode of Mushk, this one too had clarity and while watching this episode, I didn’t have to question the motives of the characters. Roshni’s conversation with Adam could easily have been chopped down. Guddi didn’t find out what happened even now and I am surprised that she isn’t even curious. I am waiting to find out how this particular aspect of Guddi’s track is covered in the upcoming weeks. Adam is turning out to be the savior who everyone seems to love but he cannot get the only woman he loves to feel something more for him than respect and perhaps some likeness. Mehak continues to be the only character that tends to be annoying at times. All the other characters are brilliantly etched-out. It seems like Roshni might fall for Adam as well! The camerawork in the last scene was confusing at times especially when Guddi and Adam were having a conversation.

Roshni Is Back

A lot of screen time was dedicated to covering Roshni’s return but unfortunately, there wasn’t a single conversation between Roshni and Guddi. Roshni felt guilty and did not have the courage to go back to her house. Her mother promised Mehak that she was going to be gentle with her but even then, she wasn’t as gentle as it seemed like she would be when she was crying for Roshni. Her reaction however was easy to relate to and logical. It is always great to see leading men in Pakistani dramas that are intelligent and sensitive at the same time. Adam is one such hero who is intelligent enough to understand the ground realities but at the same time cannot help loving Mehak.

Although Roshni’s return was covered in detail, she did not meet her dada which was rather odd. Dada was the one who entrusted Adam with this responsibility therefore he should have been part of this episode. Instead of showing the long conversations which highlighted Roshni’s state of mind, some scenes should have been dedicated to Roshni’s interaction with the other characters. She did not even meet her father. Sehar Khan performed well tonight especially given the circumstances. She did not just have a lot of dialogues but most of the time she was shown crying. Her expressions and dialogue delivery were on point. Adam is the kind of man any woman would fall in love with but will he fall in love with anyone else other than Mehak? My favorite dialogue from Roshni and Adam’s conversation was the one explaining how well Adam understood why Roshni made this foolish move.

Mushk Episode 17 Story Review – Adam Saves The Day

Adam and Guddi

Guddi is definitely in love with Adam but she makes sure that her feelings for Adam do not get in the way of her actual mission! I am glad that Adam told Guddi directly and bluntly that he did not have feelings for her. Unlike Mehak who has still not been able to tell why Adam has been doing all these ‘favors’ for her, Adam understands why Guddi is constantly calling him and wants his attention. Even though Guddi is in love, her primary personality has remained the same. Adam is convinced that Guddi is selfish and she does not feel the need to apologize for her selfishness. Just like Adam she is fully aware of her strengths and weaknesses.

Adam’s dua truly resonated with me; it was beautifully penned down and made perfect sense. After all, the situation is such that he cannot even ask God to make Mehak fall in love with him. His interaction with the beggar however ended on a strange note! Imran Ashraf makes Adam’s sincerity shine through. Since he has also penned down the character, no one could have translated it more convincingly on screen, the way he has. Urwa Hocane is equally convincing in a not-so-likable yet interesting character.

Shayaan’s Track

The Peer sahib gave Shayaan his blessings and the preparations for the wedding started in this episode. The way Shayaan looked at Muqaddar Khan when he made that remark about being rewarded for some ‘neki’ he had done, said a great deal about his actual feelings. Surely someone like Muqaddar Khan is incapable of doing any ‘neki’! Yet, he makes such remarks so often which basically goes to show how highly he thinks of himself and he does not even realize how he is sinning. Adam is making preparations for Mehak to meet Shayaan therefore we might get to watch a showdown sometime soon.

Mushk Episode 17 Story Review – Adam Saves The Day

Final Remarks

Zulekha’s husband is getting better and she will be turning to doctor Rana once again in the next episode. The preview of the next episode suggested that there will be some major developments in this particular track. There is so much to look forward to. Although I find Mehak’s track and her character not the least bit likable, I am definitely waiting to see where this track is headed. That is the biggest strength of Mushk, all the tracks have enough going for them to make the viewers look forward to more.

Mushk Episode 16 Story Review – Interesting

This was another exciting episode of Mushk, and I am especially glad that the story continues to be convincing as well as fast-paced. While some of the primary conflicts will of course be there until the story reaches a certain point, but all the other conflicting situations are either resolved, or there is some movement in them with every passing episode. None of these scenarios has been stretched even once which makes every episode of this drama entertaining. Adam is only a fool in love, otherwise he is an intelligent man who understands people and thankfully isn’t holier-than-thou! His character has depth but even with those verbose dialogues, he hasn’t been shown as someone who is out to save the world. Guddi’s character never ceases to impress, some of her dialogues, in particular, have been written brilliantly. Urwa Hocane’s effortless performance has definitely made this character easier to understand and engaging.

Adam and Guddi

Thankfully, the preview of this episode was misleading after all, and eventually, it was that girl’s greed that motivated her to ‘help’ Adam. The fact that Adam trusted her went to show that even though he is an intelligent man, sometimes he trusts people more than he should. I am certain; I am not the only one who is relieved that Roshni has been rescued. Even though what she did was selfish and foolish, Guddi played a big role in convincing her. The most interesting aspect of this entire track right now is Adam and Guddi’s communication with each other and most importantly how Guddi feels about Adam. Even though she has clearly fallen for him, she makes sure that she stays focused on her ‘goal’. Guddi and Adam’s conversation tonight was the highlight of this episode because it revealed how well Adam understood Guddi and how for once Guddi felt something for someone without wanting anything in return! This brief conversation between these two was penned down brilliantly since it reflected their opinions about and feelings for each other. Imran Ashraf’s cold expressions during this conversation showed he was completely capable of telling someone off if he did not think highly of them.

Mushk Episode 16 Story Review - Interesting

When that girl told Adam that she had stolen the jewelry and wanted to flee with it, he did not question her and was not interested in what she had planned for the future. That is why I think that although Adam is a nice guy, he is not interested in saving everyone. Even though he knows Guddi’s background, he has never shown interest in changing how she thinks or even helping her out. He is completely capable of making ‘deals’ too and does not find it difficult to ignore wrongdoings as long as the situation does not affect him or most importantly Mehak. Guddi still does not know what happened to Roshni and I was somewhat surprised that she did not call Saqib immediately after finding out that Roshni was now not with him. On the contrary, she accepted this defeat discontentedly of course, and decided to make herself feel better by taking charge of the other situation by revealing the secret she had been keeping for so long. I loved Guddi’s reaction; looking for water, in an attempt to calm down, breaking the glass, and finally breaking down. The dialogues that followed were equally interesting. The scene in which Guddi broke the news to Zulekha’s husband did not leave the kind of impact it could have due to Hassan Ahmed’s wooden expressions and acting.

Shayan & Muqaddar Khan

Aehsun Talish’s performance continues to be outstanding! He has translated Muqaddar Khan’s character so convincingly on screen that even though he is the villain; I look forward to his scenes. Muqaddar Khan’s tone and body language has changed altogether while interacting with Shayan. He knows that Shayan is getting married to his daughter only because he does not have a choice but even then he wants him to forgive, forget, and most importantly have amicable ties with him. This character has been etched-out brilliantly and Aehsun Talish’s screen presence definitely makes it even more impactful. We finally found out tonight what was holding Muqaddar Khan back; he was waiting for his peer sahib to give his blessings and decide a day for the nikkah. Osama Tahir’s expressions were on point tonight especially when he had to show disgust and hatred but this character so far isn’t as interesting as some of the other characters. Mehak and Shayan have to be the most uninteresting characters in this drama so far.

Mushk Episode 16 Story Review - Interesting

Final Remarks

Tonight’s episode was exciting and well written. Aehsun Talish, Imran Ashraf, Raja Haider, and Urwa Hocane’s performances continue to impress. Like every other week, there is so much to look forward to. I am waiting for Guddi to find out what actually happened with Roshni, her reaction might reveal another side of her character to the viewers. What will Zulekha’s husband do once he actually is back on his feet? What does the future hold for Roshni? I am waiting to find out the answers to all these questions and I am sure there is so much more in store for the viewers.

Mushk Episode 15 Story Review – Defining ‘Mardangi’

Tonight’s episode of Mushk intelligently showed how women most often end up in the most miserable situations because of the men they trust. It also highlighted that no matter what the consequences trading your self-worth for comfort should never be an option. While there were enough dialogues that highlighted the concept of ‘ghairat’, there were also those which defined ‘mardangi’. It was good to hear someone define a real man for a change since most often in dramas we only hear what a ‘perfect’ woman should be like. All the developments tonight were convincing as usual and some of the dialogues were brilliantly written. Adam and Guddi’s dialogues in particular were on point.

Adam Fails

Although I am rooting for Adam, I am glad that Adam’s heroic attempt was not successful because that would have been somewhat unbelievable. Roshni is not free but at least she is ‘safe’ for now. The way Adam defined ‘mardangi’ was outstanding and from then on the writer went on to show that sometimes women get into the most undesirable of situations because they think men are their saviors. There are many such examples in the drama already and tonight Adam said it out loud while holding the women responsible too where it was needed. These dialogues were the highlight of this latest episode. This development was also used wisely to show Guddi’s concern for Adam. Mehak continues to be selfish since even though she knows Adam could be in trouble, she is still more concerned about her own problems. She is turning out to be a rather ‘strange’ character, sometimes she comes across as manipulative and a little too self-centered.

Mushk Episode 15 Story Review – Defining ‘Mardangi’

When Adam asked that girl to help him untie, I was wondering why he didn’t ask Roshni for that favor. Even though Roshni is innocent but she would have been a better option than a complete stranger. I really hope that the preview of the upcoming episode is misleading and trusting this stranger won’t turn out to be another bad decision. This situation has made the story more interesting in many ways. I am waiting to find out how Adam manages to escape with Roshni, he surely cannot talk his way out of this situation and he has already tried using a gun! I like the fact that while penning down the script Imran Ashraf has kept things real and convincing without going overboard.

Mehak and Guddi

Mehak and Guddi’s conversation tonight coupled with Guddi’s concern for Adam showed a completely different angle of this character. This was the first time that Guddi actually prayed for someone and was genuinely worried for Adam too. Her conversation with Mehak yet again reflected exactly what was going through the viewers’ mind – she wasn’t even bothered about Adam! Mehak isn’t as naïve as she is ‘focused’ on herself. She is so busy thinking about her own problems and it seems like she does not really care about Adam even. Adam is someone who she knows would always be there for her that is why she simply turns to him when she needs him, other than that she feels absolutely nothing for him. Mehak’s scene with dada was definitely not the best one tonight since dada’s dialogues were rather disappointing even though the circumstances have made him bitter. He was introduced as such a positive character but he is turning out to be rather typical. The reason why Mehak decided not to spill the beans was also somewhat predictable.

Mushk Episode 15 Story Review – Defining ‘Mardangi’

Then we have Guddi, who is gradually falling for Adam perhaps because opposites attract! Guddi’s dialogues suggested that she had never met someone who was worthy of her ‘concern’. Even though she keeps on making fun of Adam for being too nice, the fact is that it is this side of his personality that attracted her towards him. It is truly refreshing watching a strong character such as Guddi falling for a man instead of the man falling for her. I always wondered how Guddi will eventually fall in love and I must commend Imran Ashraf for showing this development gradually and convincingly. It remains to be seen if Adam will fall out of love with Mehak and in love with Guddi too. Guddi continued to work actively towards her main goal at the moment while making sure that her tracks are covered.

Shayan’s Track

Shayan’s track is being taken forward gradually as well. We are getting to see his displeasure with the situation, his hopelessness, and most importantly the reasons why he feels he needs to go ahead with this marriage. Muqaddar Khan had the conversation with his daughter tonight as well therefore he should be going ahead with the nikkah soon. That one dialogue regarding the day of judgment summed up the mentality that is behind justifying everything people like Muqaddar Khan do. This particular track is just as unpredictable as Adam and Guddi’s track at the moment.

Mushk Episode 15 Story Review – Defining ‘Mardangi’

Final Remarks

Mushk continues to be interesting and engaging with a refreshing storyline which is also meaningful. The performances have been brilliant throughout too. Sami Khan, the child actor, deserves a special mention here for standing out in every scene. Imran Ashraf has definitely given this drama his best and Urwa Hocane owns her character right from the beginning. Tonight’s episode had some of the best dialogues. The only scene which did not work for me was the conversation Mehak had with dada. The preview of the next episode was enticing! Just like all the other episodes of Mushk, this one too gave me so much to look forward to.

Mushk Episode 14 Story Review – Going Strong

After the fast-paced episode last week, tonight’s episode had a moderate pace and it did not come as a surprise at all that the moment we had all been waiting for came at the end. Tonight’s episode belonged entirely to Guddi and Adam since these two characters are shaping up the plot at the moment more than any other. Both of them are intelligent and focused but their motives and personalities are poles apart. Guddi has the guts to acknowledge that she has ulterior motives; Adam could not tell Mehak the truth because he knew it would only make things even more complicated. Just like every other episode of Mushk, this one too revealed a few more things about some of the characters. The mystery element of the drama is still intact after all these weeks and it is never easy to guess what is going to happen next.

Guddi’s Fool-Proof Plan

Guddi has made sure that every aspect of her plan is well executed from gaining Zulekha’s husband’s trust to making Dr. Rana fall for her. Everything she has done in the previous few weeks has been directed entirely towards making her plan a success. I liked her honesty when she said that she never does anything unless she has something to gain from it. All of her conversations yet again tonight were so well written. The conversation she had with Mehak also showed how straightforward she was and she was really sure about what she wanted. She made it clear to Mehak that she was not doing her a favor by paying her and that she needed to do whatever it took to pay her on time. Guddi only feels for and looks out for her family members, other than that she can be completely ruthless. Urwa Hocane never ceases to impress as Guddi.

Mushk Episode 14 Story Review – Going Strong

Raja Haider has performed so well in this role, this is the first time that we are watching him in such a role and he owns it completely. Dr. Rana is disgusting, his scenes are anything but pleasant but the portrayal couldn’t have been better! He was Zulekha’s biggest support and now that Guddi has him under her control, Zulekha won’t have anyone to turn to. She will not even know that her husband is getting well since Dr. Rana it seems is not going to oblige anymore. The scenes in which he left his patient’s treatment midway and made others wait were actually quite disturbing.

Guddi was also the one who once again said something which no one else was saying even though it was as clear as daylight! She told Mehak why Adam was doing all these favors for her but that is something Mehak will never realize since she has absolutely no feelings for Adam and she is probably one of the most naïve characters we have seen in dramas in recent times. Mushk does give you different kinds of female and male characters; Mehak, Roshni, Guddi, and Zulekha, all are different from one another. Similarly, Adam, Saqib, Muqqadar Khan, Shayan, and even Zulekha’s husband are completely different individuals.

Adam Finds Roshni

The entire track ultimately leading to Adam finding Roshni was covered in detail which made it more convincing. I am glad that this particular development was shown in detail even though I also wanted to know how he would eventually rescue Roshni sooner! We will have to wait another week to find out how he rescues her and what happens once Roshni is out of that place. One more thing we know about Adam now is that he is very resourceful. His conversation with Mehak was slightly frustrating to watch, I feel for this man and I am waiting to find out if he will ever fall out of love with a woman who has completely different priorities and absolutely no feelings for him. Imran Ashraf’s performed exceptionally well in all the scenes tonight since there was so much room for performance in all of them. His expressions and body language were on point.

Mushk Episode 14 Story Review – Going Strong

Flashback Scenes

Tonight’s episode had plenty of flashback scenes and all of these scenes were meaningful. Shayan and Roshni’s scenes showed how much their lives had changed in such a short span of time. Roshni still wasn’t sure if Saqib really had betrayed her. Sehar Khan always makes me feel for her. Saqib’s scene however was more meaningful since it suggested that he actually had feelings for Roshni but he decided to use her for taking revenge anyway. I find it disturbing how Shayan treats that poor child since she has no idea what is going on and expects the kind of love he used to give her when she was a sister to him. I missed watching Muqaddar Khan in this episode and I am waiting to see where this track is headed. Shayan’s sister wants him to do exactly what Muqaddar Khan wants but it seems like Adam will perhaps get in touch with him before the marriage takes place.

Final Remarks

Urwa Hocane, Imran Ashraf, Sehar Khan, and Raja Haider continue to give outstanding performances. Mushk is going strong and if it maintains this pace then it will only get more interesting. The preview of the next episode was extremely enticing; I am waiting to watch what will happen next.

Mushk Episode 13 Story Review – Best One

The focus in this episode shifted from the rest of the characters to Adam with Adam coming into its own and playing the savior unconditionally. He is turning out to be a pure soul who is even making Guddi think beyond herself. Once again the backstory of one of the central characters was the most surprising aspect of this episode. Saqib’s identity was finally revealed and after finding out these details about his past, this track made more sense than ever. Guddi is a gem; each one of her interactions tonight was meaningful, beautifully written, and brilliantly acted out. Even after all these weeks we still don’t know all these characters fully which makes them even more interesting. It is definitely refreshing as well as entertaining watching a drama that does not revolve around family politics and has so many surprises in store. Every track has been written carefully with a purpose in mind. Each character has a story and definite motives for doing even the vilest things. This was the most well written and executed episode of Mushk so far.

The Ultimate Betrayal

The turn Roshni’s track took came as a complete surprise to me, I must say that I did not see this coming at all. Although it was always difficult guessing what Saqib’s actual intentions were, I wasn’t expecting him to do something so extreme at this point. Few of the readers mentioned in the comments section last week that this track was headed in the direction it went today but even then everything happened too quickly (which was definitely good). The fact that this major development was not stretched added to the entertainment value of tonight’s episode. Saqib planned all this for a reason and once again Roshni’s father was indirectly responsible for what happened to her. When his sister had that encounter with Roshni’s father, Saqib was there and he couldn’t do anything to save his sister. It was evident that he was and is really close to his sister therefore his revenge plan centered on selfish ulterior motives. Just like Guddi he was only thinking about the one person he loved the most and did not for a second think about Roshni. There was always something ‘strange’ about Saqib, now we all know why! Before watching this episode I wasn’t too sure if Raza Talish was actually doing justice to his character but after finding out Saqib’s backstory, I must say that Raza Talish did exceptionally well throughout. I always wondered if Saqib really was supposed to be this weird and mysterious; well he most certainly was!

Mushk Episode 13 Story Review – Best One
Even though Roshni was thinking about her own happiness only and no one else when she eloped with Saqib, I still felt for her. Sehar Khan deserves credit for highlighting the innocent side of her character. Guddi played an important role in making all of this possible therefore I am waiting to find out if Guddi will feel guilty for causing this collateral damage. She had no idea that Saqib would turn out to be so evil, she was doing Roshni a favor and taking revenge at the same time. She has unintentionally harmed someone who was completely innocent. Even though Guddi can be sadistic and mean, she is not evil. All of Roshni’s scenes clearly showed just how naïve she is and that is what makes everything she did even more believable.

Adam Solves The Mystery

We are finally getting to watch Adam actively involved in the story and making a lot of progress. Adam’s scene with the chacha at the train station and his conversation with Guddi were a few of the best scenes from this episode. The chacha at the station seems to be a wise man that probably had a clearer perspective because of the way Adam asked him those questions. His genuine concern for Roshni made chacha feel guilty and he headed to perhaps seeking forgiveness or guidance from God. This scene was written and translated on screen beautifully especially when Adam is shown standing outside his room pleading him to be honest. Adam is an intelligent man who managed to draw the right conclusions from this man’s body language. Imran Ashraf’s performance throughout tonight was brilliant as usual. He does exceptionally well portraying how difficult it is for Adam to hide how he actually feels from Mehak.

Mushk Episode 13 Story Review – Best One

Adam and Guddi’s conversation showed how different these two are from one another. Guddi is perhaps the only person Adam gives such blunt reality checks too. And Adam is the only one who Guddi genuinely likes and perhaps looks up to as well in some ways. Although she does not spare him and continuously mocks him, at the same time she always reflects upon whatever he says to her in these personal conversations. Guddi and Adam together are the best thing about Mushk. They will make a remarkable on-screen couple as the story progresses since right now this seems more like a love story which isn’t really meant to be considering the circumstances.

Guddi Defines Consent

Guddi is so clever, she knows that the doctor can be easily ‘trapped’ and therefore has approached him in a completely different way. When she flirted with him and he tried to hold her hand, her dialogues were remarkable! This scene reminded me of the message put forward by drama serial Inkaar, it was beautifully encapsulated in a single scene tonight. These dialogues were written in such a meaningful manner and Urwa Hocane always makes all these dialogues flow effortlessly. I would love to watch more of Guddi and Adam together since they bring out a different version of each other.

Mushk Episode 13 Story Review – Best One

Final Remarks

I absolutely loved tonight’s episode of Mushk; it was penned out impressively and was directed skillfully as well. It was also fast-paced and entertaining. The preview of the next episode showed that Adam will find Roshni in the upcoming episode. Will he succeed in helping her escape?

Mushk Episode 12 Story Review – The Repercussions

Mushk continues to move forward at a steady pace. Tonight’s episode showed how the important decisions taken by some of the leading characters affected their lives and others around them. The way they went ahead with executing their plans, said a great deal about these characters. While all the other characters are smart enough to predict the results of their actions, Shayan continues to be the naïve coward who always ends up getting into trouble. Even when he thought that everything was under control he was shaking with fear and his body language suggested that he lacked confidence. I haven’t warmed up to Roshni and Saqib just yet. Their scenes were also meaningful and gave us reason to believe that Saqib indeed is in love with Roshni and this time around he has made up his mind. It would be interesting to watch how his khala adds to their story. Some of the dialogues today were more verbose than usual.

The best thing about Mushk so far is its unpredictability and how all the characters add something different to the story. None of the characters is just a side character, each one of them has some significance or the other. Qavi Khan’s character played an important role in saving Roshni and Saqib today. He also adds a spiritual element to the story which is perhaps Imran Ashraf’s way of sharing his own beliefs and ideas with the viewers. Qavi Khan was the perfect choice for playing this role since he makes this character meaningful yet light-hearted at the same time. You feel that this person is genuine and even though most of his dialogues have been deep and serious, he delivers them in a simple and playful manner.

Important Developments

Malik sahib ended up in the hospital after finding out what had actually happened. Once again he asked Adam to look for Roshni since he is the only one he trusts. I felt for Adam yet again tonight since everyone seems to be relying on him and there isn’t a single person he can share his own ordeal with. It won’t be wrong to say that Guddi is perhaps the only one who actually understands what Adam might be going through. The way she interrupted Mehak and Adam today suggested that she knows that Adam is not just a ‘friend’ who is helping Mehak out. Watching Mehak put someone else before Shayan was a pleasant change and it was also good to see her acknowledging the fact that she has been really selfish. This basically goes to show that the writer wanted to show her as someone who made quite a few selfish decisions in her life. She has not been shown as a victim but as someone who put her own happiness about that of her grandfather who trusted her.

Mushk Episode 12 Story Review – The Repercussions

Guddi continued to enjoy the aftermath of everything she had managed to achieve! She is the smartest character in the drama who knows exactly what she wants. She also gets things done with the least bit of emotions involved. The preview of the next episode suggested that she will take her plan further quickly as the story progresses. Roshni and Saqib’s conversations gave a background to their love story for the first time. Saqib is not scared anymore and he wants a quick nikkah. They have managed to escape and it remains to be seen how loyal the khala is. If she also turns out to be greedy then the story might take a different turn.

Shayan’s track showed that he was not the only one who was naïve; Muqaddar Khan’s wife also had no idea that he exercised great control over the police. This was expected and it was frustrating to watch Shayan fail once again. All his plans reflect his lack of exposure. He is a simple man who would never be able to match his uncle’s cleverness. Even Saqib has more confidence than him. Mehak and Shayan have a lot in common as well! Both of them cannot take a stand for themselves and are usually relying on other people for support. Adam found out who Shayan was and perhaps soon enough he will also find out about the marriage plans.

Mushk Episode 12 Story Review – The Repercussions

Favorite Scenes

There were a few scenes tonight that were more impactful than others. The scene at the train station showing why Qavi Khan’s character decided to help people he was meeting for the first time was beautifully written. It had such a positive message and Qavi Khan acted remarkably well. The scene in the hospital when Guddi enters and shares her impression about Mehak and Adam’s feelings at the time was beautifully penned down. Guddi always says whatever is on the viewer’s mind and also those things which are being shown in a subtle manner. Another scene that I really liked was the one showing how Adam felt when Mehak showed the slightest appreciation and acknowledgment of whatever he had done for her so far. It is almost as if this poor man is constantly looking towards Mehak for validation. He instantly told her that he had found out who Shayan was as if he wanted her to know that he had not let her down!

Final Remarks

In this latest episode Imran Ashraf, Urwa Hocane, Sehar Khan, and Ahson Talish’s performances stood out more than all the other. Some of the dialogues were penned down beautifully while others could have been less descriptive. Overall, I really like the pace of this drama and the kind of variety it offers. Every track has a conflict and each character has a different story. The fact that all these tracks are also interrelated makes it even more interesting. Mushk continues to be a drama with endless possibilities. The preview of the next episode was enticing. I am waiting to watch what Guddi has in store for us!

Mushk Episode 11 Story Review – Thrilling & Engaging

Fast-paced, thrilling, and skillfully executed; tonight’s episode of Mushk was a complete package. The writer Imran Ashraf has outdone himself while handling all the tracks by making sure that each one of these tracks is taken forward at the same pace. Aehsun Talish’s skillful direction made tonight’s episode even more thrilling. He kept the suspense alive in every scene and made sure that all the situations were shown convincingly without making them overdramatic. Since Mushk has some of the most heavy-duty dialogues therefore only it was really important that the directors and the actors gave the script the right treatment. Except for Zara Tareen, all the other actors delivered their dialogues effortlessly hence making them effective. Urwa Hocane in particular makes even the most complicated dialogues flow so smoothly because of the way she delivers them. The attention to detail in this episode was quite impressive.

Guddi’s First Triumph

Guddi had done her homework right therefore it did not come as a surprise that she managed to execute her plan. Even though it has been well established by now that Guddi can make the impossible happen once she makes up her mind, even then the way Roshni’s exit from the house was covered kept me intrigued and on the edge right till the end. There was a clear confusion in Roshni’s mind till the last minute. I am sure, I am not the only one who was wondering if Roshni would actually be able to go forward with her plan. Her father’s dialogues were meaningful and just like always Guddi said what was going through the viewer’s mind. At that moment it was highly likely that Roshni could have changed her mind. Guddi made sure that Roshni did not pay heed to what her conscience was telling her.

Mushk Episode 11 Story Review – Thrilling & Engaging

Once Roshni was out of the house and with the love of her life, she was less concerned about what she had left behind and more eager to get away from the situation she was in. Zulekha did not get the time to look for Roshni just yet since she was too busy covering up. The way Guddi celebrated her triumph was also covered intelligently; she recalled all those times when Zulekha has insulted her and was at peace that she had taken her revenge. This was obviously the first step forward! The screenplay was so engaging since there was no way to be sure whether Guddi will succeed or not. Even now, the viewers are left wondering whether Roshni and Saqib will get away with this or not. Sehar Khan translated Roshni’s confusion and fear remarkably well on screen. Urwa Hocane was convincing as usual, she has been performing exceptionally well throughout.

Poor Adam

I felt for Adam more than ever today since finally, we got to hear what is going through his mind. He is trying to make sense of the situation, trying to understand how he ended up being ‘fooled’ like this. Imran Ashraf and Moomal Sheikh’s performances, the camerawork, and the execution of these scenes made the different emotions these characters were going through come alive exceptionally on screen. For a few seconds, it seemed, Adam was actually happy to see Mehak as his bride. While he was trying to rationalize this situation in his own head, Mehak gave him a bitter reality check not knowing what he was going through. Mehak thinks Adam is a long term friend who is helping her out, she has no idea how he feels about her. Also, she is too occupied with her own problems to think about anyone else. Even though she looked and acted the role, her only concern was her child and his father.

Mushk Episode 11 Story Review – Thrilling & Engaging

The question Mehak asked Adam and her concern for her child served as a bitter reality check for a man who probably got disconnected from reality for a few seconds. That is when Adam was reminded of his ‘duty’ as a friend and from there on he was more focused on the ‘task’ he was there to perform! This is obviously just the beginning; Adam will be faced with many more challenges in the upcoming episodes since Mehak is relying on him so much.

Shayan’s Escape

Shayan finally managed to escape with the help of Muqaddar Khan’s wife. This was another important development but I was surprised to see him going to the police because surely Muqaddar Khan exercises enough influence to get a clean chit from the police even after everything he has done. It was however good to see the wife getting back at her husband by helping Shayan escape. So, all along she was comfortable with her daughter getting married to Shayan, this was definitely surprising especially given the fact that she loves her daughter so much. But at the same time, her primary motivation for helping Shayan also happened to be her daughter.

Mushk Episode 11 Story Review – Thrilling & Engaging

Final Remarks

Overall, tonight’s episode had so much going for it and it proved that the story will get more intense and exciting as it progresses forward. I loved the picture quality tonight especially the way the marriage was covered. It seems like Qavi Khan’s character will end up helping Saqib and Roshni for some reason. Zulekha managed to get herself out of a difficult situation with the help of her ‘friend’ but will she be able to figure out who helped Roshni? Will Roshni get married to Saqib and live a happy life? Most importantly, how will Roshni’s move impact Mehak’s life? The dada is already so scared of badnaami, will he push Mehak to marry Adam now that Roshni has eloped? He will entrust Adam with the difficult task of finding Roshni, I am waiting to see how Guddi will react to that since she does not hold back while speaking her mind with Adam. Will the police help Shayan or is this going to be another dead end? A lot of questions and so much to look forward to! I can’t wait to watch the next episode.

Mushk Episode 10 Story Review – The Stage Is Set

This latest episode of Mushk focused more on the effects the decisions made in the previous episode had on the central characters. I am sure that I wasn’t the only one who was looking forward to witnessing Zulekha’s reaction after Roshni disappeared from the scene perhaps that is why the writer decided to make us wait another week! Tonight’s episode laid the foundations for the most important development in the story till now and it will be difficult waiting another week to find out where this track is headed. Imran Ashraf has done everything in his power to keep the intriguing element of the story alive. He has made sure right from the beginning that the viewers have a reason to look forward to the next episode. Like every other episode of Mushk, this one too showed the challenges faced by the main characters. Mehak and Adam both are going through testing times. Shayan is still imprisoned even after being released and there is a big question mark over Roshni’s fate.

Some of the scenes tonight made me wonder how Mehak and Guddi had managed to keep this secret from everyone for this long. Mehak has shown her love for her son quite openly more than once. Dada’s apology did not make up for his unreasonable and extreme behavior in the previous few episodes but it was good to see him feel some remorse! The nurse’s explanation about the injection did not work for me at all; do you really get slow poisons in such packaging? Her explanation could have been less descriptive.

Guddi Is In Control

Guddi is the only character in Mushk right now that is completely in control. Even Muqaddar Khan is facing difficulties executing his plan but Guddi’s determination and of course her manipulation tactics precede all the other characters. She is clever and she also has the patience required to execute a plan perfectly. Even Muqaddar Khan gets impatient at times but not Guddi! She is turning out to be a really strong character that primarily looks after her own interest. Although she could have driven pleasure out of Zulekha’s helplessness once Roshni eloped with Saqib, she decided to make this deal even more lucrative by making money out of it as well! Guddi never fails to surprise the viewers and she always makes sure that she gets the best out of everything.

Mushk Episode 10 Story Review – The Stage Is Set

Even when she is the one getting the most out of a situation, she manipulates the other person in such a way that they are thankful to her for doing them the favor! She did the same with Mehak; she is taking money from her and also makes her do everything exactly the way she wants yet Mehak is the one who feels like she owes her. I am wondering how she will change when she falls for Adam; watching someone like her being in love will be really interesting.

Tonight, Guddi convinced Saqib to elope with Roshni, took the money from him, and also found out that Zulekha was trying to kill her husband. She also gained the trust of the husband and assured him that she will support him. There has barely been any interaction between Zulekha and Guddi but Guddi’s conversation with the husband suggested that Guddi was working as a house help for Zulekha in particular even now. Just like she asked Roshni to be on her best behavior so that her mother won’t suspect anything, it seems she has been doing the same. Urwa Hocane and Sehar Khan acted exceptionally well in this episode. Urwa Hocane translated Guddi’s confidence splendidly on-screen and Sehar Khan was equally convincing as the scared girl who was depending completely on Guddi.

Adam and Mehak

Adam and Mehak both were shown suffering in their own way. Adam’s scenes with his sister were used intelligently to convey how difficult this situation was for him. He had always dreamt of getting married to Mehak and now this dream was coming true in the most convoluted way possible. In fact, his dream was actually turning into a real-life nightmare – this reminded me of the phrase ‘be careful what you wish for’! Imran Ashraf has translated Adam’s soft and polite nature superbly on screen. No matter how much he is suffering, he never shows his pain or frustrations. Even though Adam’s feelings were not communicated through dialogues, the situations and Adam’s reactions to them said a great deal. There was more showing than telling, which is always a great way of making the viewers connect with a character. This basically goes to show that Imran Ashraf believes that his viewers are intelligent individuals who can derive conclusions instead of spoon-feeding these little details to them.

Mushk Episode 10 Story Review – The Stage Is Set

The writer had the same approach while narrating Mehak’s story in this episode. Mehak’s helplessness was shown through that one scene in which she could not even take her child to the hospital. Moomal Sheikh has been really convincing as the mother in this drama. The way she shows this mother’s vulnerabilities and love for her child has been the best part of her portrayal. In fact, it is this love that makes me wonder for how long she will be able to keep this secret. Guddi is also too loud and her dialogues revealing these secrets are usually quite long, sooner or later someone is bound to find out the truth. Mehak has a really weak side to her personality therefore once she is engaged to Adam, he will most probably be doing a lot of heavy lifting for her.

Final Remarks

Shayan’s marriage was delayed in this episode owing to his ill health. Aehsun Talish continues to be impressive as Muqaddar Khan. He is making sure that Shayan does not leave his sight. Overall, this was another interesting episode of Mushk but the next one will definitely be even more so. The story has a lot of potential and the performances have been impressive throughout. The director Aehsun Talish also deserves credit for giving this story the right treatment.

Mushaf By Nimra Ahmed – Review

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Mushaf is the most extra-ordinary, intellectual and creatively written fictional story by Nimra Ahmed, who is one of the best, inspirational and thought-provoking writers of Pakistan. The name of the novel “MUSHAF” (Arabic name of the Holy Quran) gives us a hint that it is a story related to religious content or it might contain some verses with beautiful meaning and deep tafseer. Yes it is connected with all these aspects with such beauty and intellect that one might have never thought of Quran that way.

A reader of this novel journeys through suspense, excitement, love, trust, betrayal, crisis and harsh realities of a brutal life. Despite having all this, this novel leaves a permanent place in the reader’s heart. It starts with a glimpse of the magnificent beauty of morning. A girl reaches a bus stand and she has a strange bag on which her name is written “Mehmal Ibraheem”. She was really curious about the black skinned girl who was always there at the bus stand, sitting upright, wearing a scarf, with a strange shine in her eyes and had a strange book with black cover. Nimra Ahmed nailed the conversation between the black girl and Mehmal. It just makes you stick to the novel and it actually showed that the book had some kind of “magic” and that if you follow it you would have the whole world and if you would leave it you would be devastated.

The whole novel revolves around the life of the girl, Mehmal Ibraheem, who is displeased and irritated from the world. She is a beautiful girl with crystal-like shiny eyes and brown hair often tied up in a high pony tail. Her father passed away and she with her mother (Musarat) lives with her father’s family. Mehmal gets angry easily as she can’t withstand the atrocious behavior of the family members. The house was her father’s property and they had no right over it.

The novel takes a very strange turn when Mehmal decides to return the Mushaf to that black skinned girl and tries to make her realize that it was not the kind of a book that she portrays it to be and she knows about the Quran.

The next big twist happens when Fuwaad, her cousin, fools Mehmal and sells her to Hamayun and at that time I was shocked. Nimra Ahmed just beautifully showed that you have to trust no one especially a na-mehram. She is locked in a room and at that time I felt like there was no way Mehmal could ever get out of it. But there was something really impressive waiting for Mehmal, she somehow manages to run away and reach the roof of a madrassa. Humayun is later revealed to be a police officer who wanted to gather proof against Fuwaad.

اللهم اجعل في قلبي نورا
وفي بصري نورا وفي سمعي نورا
وعن يميني نورا وعن يساري نورا

And then the noor spreads in the life of Mehmal and guides her in a way one can never imagine. The way Nimra Ahmed has achieved it with her creative skills is amazing. The introduction of perfect verses related to the the appropriate situation is worth pondering over; for example the time of the death of her mother and how for every situation Quran had all the answers.

After this unusual event the life of Mehmal Ibraheem changes, she starts to cover her head, reads Mushaf and tries to understand the meaning of the holy verses of the Holy Quran. Quran starts to talk with her as it is called Kalaam Paak and Kalaam in Arabic is talk. Whatever she thinks, is answered in the Quran.

Farishtay a hidden and masked character she met in madrassa is the cousin of Hamayun. She is later revealed to be Mehmal’s sister and actually helps Mehmal a lot in understanding her life. Mehmal thinks highly of Farishtay and everyone would have thought that. It was a beautiful, mature and sensible character but by the end of the novel I started hating that character.

Nimra Ahmed beautifully conveyed the ups and downs of life and magnificently connected verses of Quran with the happenings in Mehmal’s life. This actually showed that how Quran is a miracle. It’s not just as most people say اساطير الاولين i.e. stories of old times. It is a reminder for the people of the present age and this novel changed the perspective of life in my opinion.

Another important lesson it gave was that we should trust Allah and no one else. Indeed guidance is for those who seek for it. Another important thing I realized was that people who are good from the very beginning they also get mislead by shaitan. Practicing Islam is a life long journey you are tested every single time even if you are very Achi.

I recommend you this novel and I am sure even if it didn’t change your life it would definitely leave you in great awe. In every incident of this novel is a hidden message. May Allah grant us the noor and insight to actually understand the treasure of each verse revealed by Allah.

We might not be Mehmal but we can actually learn a lot from her.
Life is all about choices :)

Asma Jamali

ps: I introduced the first part of the story but for the second part I want you to read it and let me know what do you think about this novel.

Musaddiq Malek Reveals Unknown Facts About Drama Serial Habs

Musaddiq Malek Reveals Unknown Facts About Drama Serial Habs

Firstly, Musaddiq Malek talked about how he got Habs, he said, “one day, I was about to go to Islamabad because I was offered a very good job related to production, I was being paid well and it was nearby my hometown as well, I already gave my resignation and was just ready to go when I was given the script of drama serial Habs, I was clueless about the script but then I discussed it with team and fell in the love with the script, I want to tell you that I never met the writer Alia Makhdoom, I only got the script through team, also, we used to discuss the script through production team. Here is the link:

Secondly, Musaddiq Malek talked about the casting of the drama, he said, “the casting wasn’t done by the channel solely, I had a few options in my mind about actors, I wasn’t restricted from the channel about the casting untill Ushna Shah came, Ushna Shah was referred by the channel, at that time, I had my own options, I was going to finalize one female lead, male lead was not even in my mind and no one refered anyone, I took my script to Feroze Khan, he read the script and said Okay, he came to office and signed it, first we casted Feroze, I was sorted about the female lead when Ushna came to me and then Nadeem Baig called and said, ‘pitch your drama to her’, in my mind I had done casting (didn’t reveal name of the female actor). I am so glad and thanks to channel that they referred Ushna Shah”. Here is the link:

Musaddiq Malek also talked about the changes in script which happened after the story was narrated to him. He said, “I changed the script after the consent of the team. A few things were changed and tonned down by me. One thing I could not change was my own character, it had to be in the story because it was making the story about doubt. I tried to change it but it could not happen. Also, the slap scene didn’t make sense to me but I was told by Nadeem Baig to do it quietly as it is approved by the channel. Directors can’t change more from script, the other thing I was against was about the character Soha, I didn’t want her to come back and when she came back, she was a complete vamp. He further said that he and Ayesha Omer tried to tone down Soha a lot and she also said, ‘this wasn’t what I signed’. Here is the link:

Musaddiq Malek also discussed the two main leads, Basit and Ayesha in detail. He said that he never thought that Ayesha was doing anything bad, she was confused character and was portraying it well. He further said that she was an emotional wreck. He said that most of the time she was just saying yes to Basit on everything and there was a limit to it, she had to say no on some occasion. On the other hand, Basit didn’t completely change, he came to hospital and asked Ayesha, ‘whom were you texting to?’, childhood traumas don’t go away that easily, also in their life Basit and Ayesha won’t change, they will live their lives with their problems. Have a look at the video link:

He further revealed the unknown fact about the drama that the last episode of the Habs was rewritten and it was written by Nadeem Baig. He said that he realized it later that the changes he did at the start of the drama made it worst and it was going out of hands. He said that Nadeem Baig wrote a half script which I read and we shot the last episode. The last episode was not like this, before. Here is the link:

Musaddiq Malek Opens Up on Working With Feroze Khan In Detail

Musaddiq Malek is brilliant Pakistani actor and director, his claim to fame project was Mere Paas Tum Ho. Musaddiq recently gave a detailed interview to Hassan Choudary for Something Haute in which he has talked about the actors and their attitude. He has recently directed the drama serial Habs. He also shared his experience working with Feroze Khan, Ushna Shah, Sajal Aly & Humayun Saeed. Musaddiq Malek talked about why he did a post against Feroze Khan.

He said, “I discussed it with Ushna, Nadeem Baig and team and it was decided that we should keep quiet, but then I wrote my thoughts and posted it because, if I would have asked from others, I would have not posted it, it was my decision to post because domestic abuse is close to me, my aunty was killed by my uncle, so if anyone does a little of abuse, it’s a very big thing for me”. He further said, “working with Feroze Khan was a little tough because there were commitments from his side which were not transparent and he misled the team and also on many occasions he tried to double cross me, I want to tell people that an actor’s job is a serious job which many actors don’t take seriously, in Hollywood the actors come to pick the directors, in Pakistan director has to pamper the actor, then actor says, ‘I will come to do your scene’, it’s not my scene it’s what you are paid for, and I felt these things because I was coming from Nadeem Baig’s set where cast, crew and team was extremely professional. He further revealed that the things went wrong when Feroze tried to interfere in director’s job, on many occasions, he cried where there was no requirement. Musaddiq said that on many occasions he had to put his foot down because of Feroze Khan”. He then said that working with Ushna Shah was extremely amazing, I even praised her and she was surprised after my comments because Ushna Shah is famous for her issues. Have a look at it:

He further said that Humayun Saeed is amazing to work with and if anyone has to take work advice or learn work ethics, they must learn from Humayun Saeed and Sajal. Hava a look at link:

Musaddiq Malek on Feroze Khan's Controversy's Effect on Habs

Talking about Feroze Khan’s controversy, Musaddiq Malek said, “I think Feroze Khan’s controversy affected Habs. It was our passion project, we put so much effort into this project. As a friend, I could have given him ease. He definitely could have managed his issue in a different way, he was a sane person who had two kids’ responsibilities, and a respectable girl associated to him. He could have dealt with differently. I am sure the result would have been different, because our hard work was definitely at stake. The chemistry between Ushna Shah and Feroze Khan was unreal, it wasn’t my effort, it was the actors’ effort. They are super talented, maybe in the future,we will work again. Here is the link to the video:

Talking about Feroze’s acting in Habs, he said, “Feroze Khan can do wonders, if he keeps his head straight. An actor who has done characters like Khaani, just got into the character of Basit immediately was exceptional. People were stunned to see his performance in a totally different character. Feroze Khan still has a great potential, if he gets a good story and directors , he can do wonders”. Here is the link to the video:

Muqaddas: Episode 1-12

0

Muqaddas is a show that forces viewers to get their minds into it, understand the characters and connect the dots. It is exactly what the Pakistani entertainment industry needs.

Background:

The story starts with the introduction of Muqaddas (Iqra Aziz), who is confident, career-oriented and ambitious. She turns down many rishtas that her father (Khalid Anum), her brother, Muhib (Mohammad Asad), and her brother-in-law, Sameer (Umar Sultan), suggest to her because she is waiting for the man who falls in love with her before marriage. Sameer dislikes her because she rejected the marriage proposal of his business partner. Despite this, Muqaddas shares a great relationship with her sister, Tehreem (Zainab Qayyum), and niece Mishaal.

Muqaddas has a secret admirer. Someone who leaves her flowers daily; once or even twice. She is annoyed yet impatient to find out who he is. In enters Aatir (Noor Hassan) whom Muqaddas’s boss introduces as her new assistant and even though she protests that she doesn’t need one, he insists that the reason of the employment “will be revealed later”.

It is very clear that Aatir only took up the job to be close to Muqaddas, because he finds reasons to visit her house several times and even befriends her dad. At last, she confronts him about it. However, Aatir is unaffected by her daant and proposes marriage right there! He tells her that he has been sending her flowers and trying to to be close to her.

Even so, Muqaddas is unsure about the proposal and consults her best friend,  Ainee, who beams and tells her that Aatir is the man she deserves and that she should say yes.

Screen Captures2-001

Aatir’s background is revealed and we find out that he is the son of  Ahmed Ali (Sheryar Zaidi), whom he has sent to Australia for medical treatment. He runs the business that his father once did. He is a respectful son to his step-mother Ruhi (Hina Byat), and a responsible brother to his step-brother Zain (Agha Jarar) and step-sister, Nida (Nida Khan). However, Ruhi firmly believes that “sotela saanp hota hai.” She is furious over the fact that Ahmed has handed over all his business and property to Aatir but acts like the most loving mother in front of him. She wants to get him married to her niece Jia (Madiha Zaidi). Nida wants the same thing but when Aatir expresses his love for Muqaddas and says that he will marry her and no one else, they have to give in. Muqaddas wouldn’t have known about Aatir’s background if not for Adil, Annie’s husband who happens to be Aatir’s friend.

Before discovering that, however, the engagement has already taken place. Muqaddas finds out that Nida’s husband, Kabeer (Furqan Qureshi), is someone who confessed his love for her during the days when they studied in the same college and got slapped by her for touching her hand. Kabeer’s facial expressions showed the intensity of feelings he still has for Muqaddas. These don’t go unnoticed by Nida.

Screen Captures3-001

The wedding:

The wedding takes place and Aatir and Muqaddas are the happiest people on earth. Iqra and Noor look great together and Iqra looked absolutely beautiful as a bride. I really appreciate the fact that the wedding functions were not dragged through lame dances.

Screen Captures4

However, later at Aatir’s home, tragedy strikes, In an unpredictable twist, a masked man enters through the unlocked window, shoves a cloth soaked in chloroform onto Muqaddas’s face and then drags her away while unconscious.

Aatir enters the room to find out that the love of his life  has been kidnapped.

Post-Kidnapping:

The room in which Muqaddas was kept was decorated with flowers just like a bride’s room. Seeing poor Muqaddas unconscious and at the mercy of her masked kidnapper made me shiver. The girl was kidnapped on the happiest day of her life and molested while unconscious!

It was clear through that scene that the kidnapper was someone who was obsessed with Muqaddas and could not bear seeing her with someone else, so obviously my doubts were on Kabeer. Muqaddas only saw the face of one person there who was probably a maid.

After the kidnapping, the next problem that made way to Muqaddas’s family was her father’s coma. But contrary to what Muhib and Tehreem thought, the cause of the coma wasn’t the stress that came because of the kidnapping. The actual cause was knowing the fact that Aatir was Ahmed Ali’s son. When Muqaddas’s father saw a picture of Ahmed at Aatir’s house, and confirmed that it was, in fact, his father’s picture, the next thing the viewers saw was him in a coma.

The reactions and Muqaddas’s return:

There were two more people who I doubted, namely Ruhi and Nida. Both of them had promised Jia that Muqaddas and Aatir’s marriage would be a temporary one. But then the way Nida questioned Kabeer, again and again, made me think she wasn’t involved. Ruhi, however,  is surely involved. She was so excited to know that Muqaddas had gone, that on the very moment when Aatir left the house to search for Muqaddas, she drove to Jia’s house to give her the good news.

Kabeer’s character didn’t impress me much in the first 2 episodes. But after the kidnapping, the way he tried to help Aatir and Muqaddas’s family made me like his character. He even told them to call the police (and not just once) but Aatir preferred to save his khandaan ki izzat. As for Aatir, I am confused whether to like his character or not. Firstly, he refused to call the police. Even after the ransom demand came, he did not involve the police. Later when the ransom was paid and his wife returned to his doorstep, only to faint and collapse on the floor, he refused to call a doctor!! In spite of all this, he cared for Muqaddas a lot. He was the first person she recognized when she gained consciousness, and after that he did not leave her side unless Tehreem, Muhib or Annie were present. That is why I am confused about his character. I cannot tell what his true intentions are.

Tehreem and Muhib are people who would do anything for their sister, and Annie is the best friend Muqaddas could wish for. Is was sad to know that Muqaddas did not recognize anyone from the three after she woke up. Later, as her memory slowly came back, she did remember them but not Mishaal. That was when Annie who is a doctor herself suggested that Muqaddas could have been given a drug that affected her memory. She didn’t even ask about her father.

Post-return:

Zain is a spoiled brat, but despite having many ghundas at his command who can beat and scare any person he points at, he is not as smart as his mother. That is the kind of vibe I got from him in the start. Soon, I grew suspicious of his character. He deposited 2-crore in his account (the same amount as the ransom) just a few days after Muqaddas’s return. Nobody would have known about this if the bank manager, Rizwan, hadn’t turned out to be Kabeer’s friend. Zain soon learnt about how Rizwan ratted him out and headed over to Rizwan’s place with his men to give a warning. Rizwan was too scared for his family members’ life to even speak a word again.

Ahmed Ali’s first cousin, Akbar Ali (Farhan Ali Agha), arrived from Dubai. A conversation between him and Ruhi hinted that both of them were involved at some point in their lives and that was the reason he had to leave the country. Aatir wasn’t too fond of his uncle and tried to keep him away from his life. I actually appreciated this because Akbar’s loyalties lie with Ruhi and he can only stir up trouble for Aatir and Muqaddas.

Kabeer did the right thing by telling Aatir, who grew suspicious and decided to talk to Zain about the money. Zain had to do something to distract Aatir. He knew Muqaddas was the perfect distraction. Even I didn’t expect what he did. For a while I thought the actual kidnapper had came back but it wasn’t hard to figure out that all of it was Zain’s drama.

The plan did work for some time as Aatir could not leave his wife’s side once again and it was easy for Zain to escape from his house and go to the office. He even took his mother into confidence by saying that he borrowed the money from the company’s account. I thought Ruhi would at least interrogate Zain a bit after finding out about the money, but she believed his story and was confident that Zain could not kidnap a person.

It was amusing to see Zain’s desperation after Ruhi called him and told that Tehreem had came to visit Muqaddas and Aatir was planning to question him at the office. I was glad that Aatir found Zain’s immigration papers as well. But then, the lack of interest Aatir showed in finding the source of the money and that mystery man (who had tried to kidnap his wife for the second time) irked me. He simply told Zain to keep his mouth shut about the incident and left. Weird, no?

Akbar Ali is a cunning man. Him teaming up with Ruhi and Zain was exactly what they needed. He has all sorts of plans, and the first one was to cover up Zain’s 2-crores.

The hospital visit:

Tehreem was adamant the Muqaddas needed a proper checkup and that’s why she took Muqaddas to her house and then to the hospital where Annie worked. What happened after that was saddening. I felt for Muqaddas more than ever now that she is pregnant. She doesn’t know this but it isn’t long before she finds out. Muhib’s scene with his father left me heavy hearted.  He needs his father now more than ever and feels he is all alone.

Tehreem was deeply stressed when she collided into an unfamiliar person in the restroom. The girl was very eager to find out why Tehreem was so worried. She even came into Muqaddas’s room later to find out exactly why Muqaddas was there. I was super glad that she could not find about the pregnancy  because I kind of doubted she was  from the press. Surprisingly she was! But she was Jia’s friend as well, thus she reported the whole event to Jia who reported it to Ruhi. After that, she called her editor and narrated the story of Muqaddas’s kidnapping to him.

In the news:

Getting some dirt on the city’s elite was exactly what the editor wanted and so, he decided to cash on it. Next, we were introduced to Farhan, who is Aatir’s business rival. He is the one who tells the editor to do this homework and print the news.

After reading the newspaper, and finding out that Farhan was behind the whole thing, Aatir confronted him and that’s when I realized that the rivalry between them isn’t just related to their businesses. It has been their since they were in school. I am excited to find out how it started.

Simultaneously….

Muqaddas had spotted the maid she saw at the kidnappers’ place outside the hospital. From that day she was adamant to find her out. Zameer’s disapproval of his sister-in-law staying at his house made Tehreem choose between her sister and husband and she chose her sister (which I am glad she did!). She took Muqaddas and Mishaal to their father’s house. Muqaddas’s health got a bit better. She was finally able to take a stand for herself and that’s when she told Aatir that if he really loved her, he would find her kidnappers within two days. I think Aatir deserves this. He chose not to go to the police and didn’t even take Muqaddas to the hospital. He was only concerned about the news report so that his khandan ki izzat wouldn’t be damaged. Now that Muqaddas has taken a stand for herself, he will be forced to find the culprits and do something other than just give jhooti tasallian!

A few scenes of the maid and her family were shown. She lives with her daughter and son-in-law and her son-in-law was involved in Muqaddas’s kidnapping. He is an illiterate person who is forcing his wife and her mother to stay inside the house because he fears she will get caught outside. His wife needs medical treatment but he doesn’t care.

A few words of praise:

The writer, Adeel Razzak, has wonderfully written the story and included just the right amount of suspense and thrill in it. The show doesn’t have a lack of good people that keep my faith in humanity after seeing characters like Ruhi, Zain and Akbar. The dialogues are spot-on; not too over-dramatic and not too bland.

The director, Ali Masud Saeed, has done his work brilliantly. There are no OTT moments in the show. The newcomers are doing well along with others and I didn’t think that any scenes were dragged.

Iqra Aziz has outdone herself. Noor Hassan is, as usual, a great choice for this character. Agha Jarrar is doing well for a newcomer. Furqan Qureshi, Nida Khan, Zaynab Qayyum, Madiha Zaidi and others are great in their respective roles. However, Hina Byat and Farhan Ali Agha are the stars. Both their characters are equally cunning and smart and even though I hate Ruhi and Akbar, these two actors are the best performers in Muqaddas.

What do you all think of Muqaddas? Do you find it interesting? Any theories? Feel free to share.

You can catch Muqaddas every Monday-Wednesday at 9:10 pm on Hum TV.

Muqaddas- Episode 22

0

This episode wasn’t as thrilling as the previous one but I still enjoyed watching it :) The direction and everyone’s performances were commendable as usual.

Nida and Kabir are two completely different people with zero chemistry. Kabir is polite. Nida on the other hand is very loud. She blurts out whatever is on her mind, whenever she wants to, not thinking about how rude she could be. We haven’t been told how they met, and I wonder why Kabir married a woman with whom he has absolutely no understanding. From what I have gathered about Kabir till now, I can say that he has no intention of cheating on Nida. He knows that Muqaddas is Aatir’s wife, and that she already rejected him years ago. He is helping Muqaddas because he doubts Aatir’s sincerity. Nida has major trust issues, and that’s why she runs to Ruhi every other day to tell her how evil Kabir is. I laughed out loud when she said, “Kabir ne meri zindagi haraam karke rakhi hui hai!”  I really wish these two talk it out instead of fighting all the time (if that is possible)!

Aatir loves Muqaddas, and does not want to harm her in the process of revenge (as if he can anymore!). Mujhe nahi pata thha ke Jahanzaib ki takleef tumhari takleef hogi. He now feels bad for all that he did to Muqaddas, but his selfish nature prevails. The way he said to her that there are many more girls who are kidnapped, yet they live a “normal” life must have been demeaning for Muqaddas. It was easy for him to say that because he is the culprit himself. He wants to ease out of the guilt.

Jahanzaib always gives me positive vibes, never evil ones. Seeing him walking alone on the streets, taking the food from the langar and then crying as he ate it made me feel really sorry for him. But the conversation between him and Aatir from the previous episode tells otherwise. It tells us that behind the naive, loving person lies a man who ruined the life of a woman, took a six-year-old’s mother away from him and lived a guilt-free life until his victim came for revenge.

Aatir’s reaction after finding out that Jahanzaib was back at his house was expected. It got me thinking of how Aatir keeps his dual personality under control. There were moments when he snapped but there were so many times when he contained his anger and just clenched his fists or gave a stern look. He has spent a lot of time building his cover and I will love to see that cover blown.

At Jahanzaib’s house, Kabir’s eyes did all the questioning from Aatir, who did his best to avoid them. Muqaddas was too emotionally occupied with her (once again) unconscious father to notice the tension. This was Jahanzaib’s second time unconscious and it really annoyed me because when he was out on the streets he was fine and now that he was on his warm bed he could not wake up! But then I saw his half open eyes and I understood that he was just trying to “hide”. He can’t face Muqaddas while not being able to tell her about who wronged her.

Ruhi still thinks that Muqaddas’s kidnapping was a drama and she still wants to throw Muqaddas out of Aatir’s life and get him married to Jia. Akbar was right about her sister. Even if she somehow manages to get Jia and Aatir hitched, she is never getting the family business for herself.

So, what do you guys think will happen next? Did you enjoy this episode? Feel free to share your thoughts :) I would have added some snap shots of the episode but Hum TV has not uploaded the episode yet.

Since this is my last review for the week, Eid Mubarak to my readers in advance :)

Muqaddas- Episode 21

0

Yet another thrilling and exciting episode of Muqaddas! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and was glued to the screen. :)

The scene between Jahanzaib and Aatir was intense and both Noor Hassan and Khalid Anum were phenomenal, and I mean phenomenal in it! Noor Hassan portrayed the emotions of a man whose mother had been taken away from him when he was just six years old with excellence and Khalid Anum made us feel sorry for the desperate and helpless father he is playing. Aatir’s hatred for Jahanzaib is so deep that no matter what he does to him now, I won’t be surprised!

Screen Captures8

However, what surprised me was Aatir’s declaration of love for Muqaddas. He himself cannot comprehend how this happened but he does love Muqaddas. That fact makes me even more angry at him. You can’t put someone through all this and then say that you “love” them. I wonder for how long Jahanzaib will keep quiet for the well being of his daughter?

Zameer is simply, inhumane, and Umar Sultan has made us hate this character. Zameer acts like he is “suffering” because of all the attention his wife is giving to Muqaddas when he is the one giving her all sorts of depression. I feel sorry for Tehreem every time Zameer enters the frame! In fact, I feel for all of the three siblings. Tehreem, Muhib and Muqaddas are paying the price of something their father did, and they don’t even know it. Iqra Aziz, Zainab Qayyum and Mohammad Asad are doing a great job!

Screen Captures2

Kabir was very active in today’s episode. He visisted Muqaddas and Muhib and promised them help whenever they needed it. Later when Muqaddas called him, instead of Aatir, to help find Jahanzaib, I realized that she probably doesn’t trust Aatir now as much she did earlier. No matter what the reason is, I am glad that Muqaddas called someone who will actually do something for her, unlike Aatir.

Fullscreen capture 7142015 12520 AM

Aatir’s love claims, like I said earlier make me angrier at him. “Hum ne khatan din aur takleef-de ratein dekhi hain” Well dude, you’re the one who put her through all of this, no? The fact that he held a grudge for this long and plotted such an elaborate scheme shows how selfish he is. No wonder he claims to love Muqaddas despite what he did to her. The man only cares about what HE wants and right now he wants Muqaddas all for himself while he destroys her father.

Fullscreen capture 7142015 13648 AM

I feel like Ruhi was part of whatever happened to Aatir’s mother. She wasn’t happy to know that Jahanzaib had regained consciousness , probably because she feared that her role in the event would be exposed. Akbar is trying to connect the dots and find the kidnapper. Not in their wildest dreams do Ruhi and Akbar realize who the real kidnapper is! I wonder what Aatir will do when he finds out that Akbar in hiding Shaukat’s family? Hina Byat looks absolutely beautiful in every scene. :)

Fullscreen capture 7142015 11711 AM

I hope that the pace of the story does not slow down. Every twist until now has been revealed at the right time and no episode has left me bored. I expect the same from the future episodes as well. I also expect the ending to be complete and most importantly, satisfactory. Adeel Razzak has written Muqaddas with his heart and soul. Every scene, every dialogue and every character shows us his skill, hence my expectations. Ali Masud Saeed has directed this well written story with excellence. He expertise has made Muqaddas a thrilling ride for all of us. The camera work and editing is commendable as well. The entire team deserves a round of applause!

Did you guys enjoy this episode? What did you think of it? Do comment and tell :)

Muqaddas- Episode 16-18

0

What I absolutely love about Muqaddas is that all the characters are well-etched out. They all fit in, and they all have a reason for being in the story. Muqaddas has no unnecessary tracks involved.

Akbar always has a plan. It’s surprising how quickly he cooks up the best solution to any of Ruhi’s problems. This time, the problem was Muqaddas’s stubbornness. She wasn’t ready to return to the house until Aatir brought her kidnappers to justice and Ruhi thought that the only way to kick Muqaddas out of Aatir’s life was to first bring her back. The plan was almost perfect. Using a patsy to make Muqaddas think that her kidnapper had been caught.

Fullscreen capture 722015 22823 AM

Aatir wasn’t too sure of the plan until he heard Muqaddas talking to Jahanzaib (her father) about how she was afraid of going back to the house from which she had been kidnapped and requesting him to wake up and convince Aatir to stop trying to take her back. Aatir figured that the only way to change his wife’s mind was to follow Akbar’s plan. The patsy was arranged by Zain and as expected, it was Babar.

Babar and Irum’s relationship was on the rocks after Babar refused to tell Irum exactly what he did for Zain, i.e, scaring Muqaddas at night (that too in her own room). Her constant requests didn’t make him spit it out and so, she tried a dhamki. If Babar wasn’t going to tell her the truth, would Zain do it? Or would Aatir do it? Unfortunately this dhamki made Babar think he had to stop her by all means. He was too afraid of Zain to let Irum inform any part of the truth to Aatir. Thus, he locked her in a room. Poor Irum wasn’t expecting such a response from the man she loved!

It was only after Zain’s second visit, however, that Babar realized what trap he was walking into. What if the police actually imprisoned him? He’d have no way of saving himself. But refusing Zain on his face was not something Babar could do (Zain had even offered him safe haven in Dubai). When Zain left, he let Irum out of the room. Now no woman would ever forgive a person who locked her in a room for a whole day (even if he ordered pizza for her) but for Irum, Babar is her whole world. She loves him a lot and that’s why Babar’s apologies were easily accepted by her. Babar also knows that Irum is the only sincere person in his life, so he could only discuss such a matter with her. He told her exactly what he had done, and what Zain wanted him to do. He decided that Zain needed him, and him and Irum needed each other. He would take Irum with him to Dubai and in case Zain actually let the police catch him, he would tell everything to Aatir. That was his backup plan.

Fullscreen capture 722015 32545 AM

While all of this was being planned, something unexpected and very interesting happened. As we already know that Muqaddas did not see her molester. She only saw the maid, but she did hear the voice of a man who called himself “hukum ka ghulam“. When the kidnappers drove her to Aatir’s house, she noticed a band and chain on that man’s wrist. So during the drive from the hospital, Muqaddas recognizing that man at the signal was believable but the way she screamed “Yeh wohi aadmi hai” was……not so believable. She did the same thing when she saw the maid at the hospital a few episodes ago and the maid ran. The man (whose name has been revealed to the viewers as Shaukat) did the same thing and drove away at fast speed. The whole chasing scene was remarkable. It was thrilling and I really enjoyed watching it, so kudos to the director and the actors who were involved.

Fullscreen capture 722015 30246 AM

When Muqaddas and Muhib came home and Tehreem got to know of this, her reaction was anger. However, she soon thought of the situation Muqaddas was in. She is expecting and before anyone got to know of this, something had to be done. Unfortunately, according to Ainee, the case is “complicated” and terminating the pregnancy will put Muqaddas’s life in danger and so she put forward the suggestion of sending Muqaddas back to Aatir’s house. Woh apne bacche ko Aatir ka hi samjhe. I felt sorry for Tehreem that not only did she have to send her sister back to the house before the kidnappers had been caught, but Muqaddas got the wrong idea. She thought Tehreem only made her go back so she could go back to Zameer’s house.

9420ddda541a78b6e605c66a0d972881

And then came my second favourite scene from this week. We got to see our masked perpetrator once again. After what he did to Muqaddas, I cannot wait for him to be revealed and get punished  and that too very severely.

imran-abbas-naqvi  I must say that the scenes between Muqaddas and Aatir post-return with the OST playing in the back ground were nicely done. I am totally in love with the lyrics and Shuja Haider has done a great job! As one of the readers also mentioned, the OST itself is a clear message. I think has been written from the perspective of the masked man and tells the tale of his obsession with Muqaddas.

So the day of the showdown between Muqaddas and her (fake) kidnapper came and on the very same day, Muqaddas found a gun, yes, a gun in Aatir’s drawer. I was surprised that she didn’t ask him about it. Khair, that weapon (almost) came in handy when Muqaddas saw Babar. When she recognized Babar because of his eyes, I screamed “I knew it!” because it is very easy to remember a person with coloured eyes.

11156143_677440682361605_8529441334599224856_n    However, Muqaddas’s reaction seemed unusual to Aatir and that’s why he didn’t let Babar go. After giving it some thought he figured out why Muqaddas was so violent towards the man who wasn’t even her real kidnapper. He understood that Zain had to be involved in the second kidnapping attempt. Zain was in deep trouble but this trouble could have came earlier if Kabir had came forward with his info. What kept him quite for all these days? His reaction after Nida told him that Muqaddas’s kidnapper had been caught was weird too.  Kabir’s getting on my suspect list again and as I have mentioned before, the OST points towards a man who is very much obsessed with Muqaddas. Kabir sounds good to be the kidnapper but that would be predictable, won’t it? I would love for the kidnapper to be someone we least expect to be.

Even though Muqaddas was still adamant on finding the other kidnappers (Shaukat and the maid) she realized that Aatir is sincerely trying to find them. She apologized to him for being stubborn and was excited to be his bride again. Her happiness didn’t last long and that very night she realized that she was pregnant. The valima ceremony was spoiled for her already and Jia only made it worse with her taunts. As if Ruhi wasn’t enough for them! There was only one way to make the ceremony worse, and voila, the fainting did the trick.

72d61660ea1acfe5bbd8023e0b7ab98b

Shaukat’s mother-in-law had to save her daughter from her husband’s tyranny. She decided she would no longer let Shaukat mistreat her daughter and will not hide his crime. Paying a visit to Aatir’s house was a great idea but the timing was terrible. Since everybody except Akbar was at the ceremony at the time, he got to know the whole story. Let’s see what plan he will cook up now.

These three episodes were more than enjoyable. I love the way the story is unfolding. Thank you Adeel Razzak for writing such an interesting drama and thank you Ali Masud Saeed for directing it so well. All the actors connected to the project have done a splendid job. Especially Iqra Aziz has surprised me with her natural acting skills since she is a new comer.

Muqaddas- Episode 13-15

0

I’ll say it once again, Muqaddas is a definite treat to watch!

The situation maybe tragic, and evils might lurk in the female lead’s life but this show has plenty of interesting characters and unpredictable twists to keep us all hooked. This is no roti dhoti kahani.

Muqaddas told Aatir to find her kidnappers no matter what, and even told him not to come to her before he did so. Her mind changed when Zameer came to her house and told Tehreem that she was ruining her marriage for her sister. She realized that she is being a burden on Tehreem.

Fullscreen capture 6252015 15036 AM

Muqaddas decided to call Aatir, who did arrive, only a day later. The reason for his late arrival was Ruhi. One of Ruhi’s good for nothing “friends” has planted this thought in her mind, that in Ahmad Ali’s family, second marriages are the permanent ones. She used the fact that Ruhi herself is a second wife to support this nonsense. Thus, Ruhi was convinced that Aatir should divorce Muqaddas and marry Jia. However, when she told Aatir to do so, he refused saying that, “Mein aik soteli maan ke liye apni biwi ko kabhi nahi chorunga.”

Fullscreen capture 6252015 21245 AM

Ruhi was furious over what Aatir said to her and locked herself in her room. I really think there was nothing wrong in what he said because Ruhi was being very unreasonable. She should be grateful for a step-son like Aatir but instead she can’t wait to see him unhappy. Akbar requesting Ruhi to open the door and shifting from Ruhi to “Ruhi Bhabi” mode, after Aatir arrived, made me laugh.

So after handling this situation, he made his way to Muqaddas’s house where Muqaddas was waiting for him. She even agreed to return to his house but Tehreem could not let this happen. She was worried sick thinking what Aatir’s reaction would be  if he found out about the pregnancy. I think Tehreem telling Muqaddas about Jahanzaib’s (their father’s) condition was a way to stop Aatir from taking her home, but I am glad Muqaddas finally remembered her father.

Fullscreen capture 6252015 14715 AM

I think I am finally understanding Aatir’s character (not completely though). He does love Muqaddas a lot, but he is selfish. He wants Muqaddas all for himself. All the others in her life can go to hell for all he cares. The glances he gave Tehreem in the car while he drove Muqaddas to the hospital suggested that he didn’t want Muqaddas to find out about Jahanzaib’s coma mainly because that would mean her not returning to his house. But I can’t shake this feeling, that he knows something about the kidnapping that he is not sharing.

I really enjoy Akbar and Zain’s scenes. Zain knows Akbar is the one to call for help when things get messed up and as Akbar is gradually learning about all of his nephew’s harkatein, the conversations between them are getting more amusing.

Zain had one of his men, Babar, scare Muqaddas when the whole embezzlement issue surfaced. He had decided to get Babar out of the city but fate wasn’t in his favour. Babar turned out to be the fiancé of the journalist, Irum, who reported about Muqaddas’s kidnapping. Since Jia and Irum are friends, Irum decided to make her friend meet her fiancé. The way Jia put two and two together was rather unbelievable. Still, one of my favourite scenes from this week was Zain and Jia’s confrontation while Kabeer watched. Now two people know of what Zain did. Jia, however, is sure that Zain kidnapped Muqaddas and that’s why she told her mother to stop trying to get her hitched to him. I really want to see what Kabeer does now.

Screen Captures5

Babar is terrified of Zain but Irum isn’t. Even when Zain told her that Aatir is searching for her and will make her suffer she didn’t want to leave the city. Even if Babar decides to follow Zain’s instructions, I think Irum won’t. She is already fuming over the fact that Babar has hidden so much from her.

Nida talked some sense into Ruhi (although I wish she hadn’t done it) and told her to plan a Valima ceremony for Aatir and Muqaddas. Ruhi realized that in order to throw Muqaddas out of Aatir’s life, she’ll have to bring Muqaddas back first. However, Muqaddas isn’t interested in having such a ceremony at all. Her family’s lives are a mess and she can’t possibly be enjoying her life right now.

This show is so well written, directed and performed that I hardly get bored while watching it. I can’t think of any actors who would play these characters better. Even the supporting cast is performing well. That’s something!

Are you enjoying Muqaddas as well? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Muqaddas From Zard Patton Ka Bunn Reveals Interesting Facts

Minal Qureshi is the new star on the block. The young actress made her debut with Zard Patton Ka Bunn where she plays Roshan aka Sheikh Mubashir Mehmood’s love interest. Muqaddas is an integral part of the story and a perfect debut for Minal in a drama lead by none other than Sajal Aly.

Muqaddas From Zard Patton Ka Bunn Reveals Interesting Facts

Minal was a guest on Good Morning Pakistan where she shared the story of her entry into showbiz. She shared that her mother always wanted to bring a child into the industry. All her elder siblings were nerds and more focused on studies so they did not want to start acting. She, however, always loved the idea.

Muqaddas From Zard Patton Ka Bunn Reveals Interesting Facts

Minal’s elder sister knew an AD who told them about the opportunity to play Muqaddas. She sent in an audition when the chance came and the very next day she left for Bahawalpur to shoot the drama. She is also well-supported by her mother and siblings in this opportunity.

Muqaddas From Zard Patton Ka Bunn Reveals Interesting Facts

This is how she entered the industry:

Muqaddas – Last episode

After 36 episodes, Muqaddas came to an end today. I’ll say this first-hand, that the ending of our favourite show was not perfect, but the last episode did have it’s share of dialogues and scenes that I loved watching, and I am sure, you did too!

Ham donon intiqam aur ghusse ki aag mein jala diye gaye. This is exactly what I feel about Muqaddas and Maryam’s characters. Both of them suffered because of two men’s thirst for revenge_ two men who were very much alike in their selfishness. In order to avenge his mother, Aatir created another victim. He did achieve what he wanted to, i.e causing Jehanzeb so much grief that he wished for death but when the time came, he couldn’t stand back and gloat. Jehanzeb couldn’t tell the truth to his daughter when he was alive, but he made sure that she knew the truth when he was dead and didn’t have to face her. Before Aatir could bask in the glory of his achievement, he had to face the woman he wronged and make her believe that he really loved her. Something I thought she would never believe now.

Tehreem did shout at Aatir but the first slap was delivered to him by Muhib, and a well-deserved slap it was! However, it did not beat the second slap which Muqaddas delivered. Abhi tak tumhare intikaam ki aag nahi bhuji hai? The whole scene was very prowerful, not just because of the dialogue (which was ah-mazingly written) but because of Iqra Aziz’s and Noor Hassan’s phenomenal performances (and yes, I am using the word “phenomenal” once again). Everything that Muqaddas said to Aatir in that scene was what I wanted her to say. The way she reminded him the difference between love and hate was spot on! The highlight of the episode was, nonetheless, Aatir finding out that his mother was alive and well. Noor Hassan’s expressions once again, hit the nail on the head! His eyes did all the talking. Aatir realized that all the hurt that he caused Muqaddas was for nothing and that Maryam was alive all along.

Aatir’s reaction was justified, but I was surprised after hearing what Maryam had to say to him. She was right when she reminded Aatir of how wrong he had been, how he had destroyed Muqaddas’s life, but I had a hard time digesting the fact that a mother showed no affection towards her son the first time she met him after so many YEARS. I know that she was shocked after seeing this face of her son, but I have never seen a mother’s character so devoid of love for her son. Instead she forgave Ahmed Ali, the man who believed a lie about her, called her child illegitimate and threw her out of his house in the dead of the night. I expected Muqaddas never to forgive Aatir, but being a mother, Maryam’s hatred for Aatir was unrealistic.

Kabir and Nida getting back together must have been disappointing for a lot of viewers who were rooting for Kabir and Muqaddas. I was not taken by surprise though, because I did not expect a fairy tale ending. Muqaddas never loved Kabir and there was no way she was going to marry him. With that said, I have to admit that Kabir was the nicest character in this drama. He is a genuine and compromising person who deserved nothing but happiness. I am not sure Nida could ever give him that.

Aatir’s end was not something I wanted to see even when I knew it was possible. I never wanted Muqaddas to come back to him (or Maryam to come back to Ahmed for that matter) but I wanted him to still have his life and sanity. Aatir was an extreme minded person and I know that the writer has made us all well aware of his nature in the previous episodes, but I am done with the idea of the villian dying or losing his sanity in the last episode! How about moving far away from the people he destroyed and regretting his decision like a sane person?

Lekin chalo, kisi tareeqe se, we make sense of all this, the last scene was definitely unsatisfactory. This “legacy” of revenge should have been stopped after Aatir, but the fact that Muqaddas chose to continue it made me feel sick! I feel sorry for the child who will grow up with a mother who’d be full of hate. A mother who will never let him know the name of his father. Will it be another Aatir or Sarmad?

Overall, Muqaddas was a show worth-watching. The thrill and suspense kept us all glued to the screen! I remember watching the first episode and thinking, “It’s going to be another love story!” The second episode was the one that caught my interest and I could not stop watching the show after it. Ever since the kidnapping scene, we all kept guessing who the kidnapper was. I really enjoyed reading the readers’ theories about the kidnapper and his purpose. It was really fun reading not just the fans’ comments, but the ones from the cast of the show itself.

This was a show that was different from anything else on-air right now. The writer Adeel Razzak pulled off the thriller really well. He kept introducing new twists at the right time, and made sure we were all engrossed. Ali Masud Saeed directed the wonderfully written script really well. All the actors, including Noor Hassan, Iqra Aziz, Hina Bayat, Farhan Ali Agha, Khalid Anum, Furqan Qureshi, Nida Zaidi, Zainab Qayyum, Mohammad Asad and Agha Jarrar did their job well. The whole team of Muqaddas deserves a round of applause for what they have have achieved, i.e pulling off a thriller . Only if the ending was a little more satisfactory!

Muqaddas – Episode 35

0

When I finally turned on the TV at 8 pm, I saw the promo of Muqaddas with no “Last episode” announcement. I was super-excited to watch the last episode today, but sadly, the website was wrong. I am just glad I opened the TV an hour earlier and didn’t face utter disappointment. Khair, wrong announcements have been done in the past so rather than being sad, I watched the episode and as usual it was interesting. Being the optimist I am, I think it’s good that they wrap the drama over a few more episodes. We all want a satisfactory ending, don’t we?

“Woh pagal horaha hai”. Ruhi is a smart woman. She knows that something is up. Of all the people in the house, she was the only one to realize that Aatir was lying about Kabir, and that something else is going on. In the initial episodes, I used to doubt Ruhi for being the kidnapper, and this character was intriguing. Somewhere in the middle of the show she turned into the typical evil mother-in-law. Now that her sane side is surfacing again, I am glad! She is still evil, but now she is actually contributing to the story instead of just threatening Muqaddas.

Maryam told Sarmad the entire story but did not tell him about her son, Aatir. I found that weird. When Sarmad finally told her the name of his friend who he always talks about, that was when she understood. I still want to know why she never met Aatir. It was one thing if she could not meet him when he was a child, but now that he is a grown up man, I wonder why she never tried to find him. How does a mother contain her love for her son for so many years?

Screen Captures13

Jehanzeb’s end was sudden, but the most logical way to start wrapping up the show. Jehanzeb was too ashamed of what he did to Maryam to ever confess to his sin in front of Muqaddas. He knew he had to save his daughter from Aatir, and he had to let Ahmad Ali know the truth. The letter has to be the biggest twist of the drama. It was the best way to tell the truth to both, Muqaddas and Ahmed. Aatir got what he wanted. He drove Jehanzeb to his death. It’s true that Jehanzeb deserved to be punished for what he did. He ruined Maryam’s marriage, and when she came to his house for help he did not even open the door. He never bothered to tell the truth to Ahmad. However, he spent his entire life searching for Maryam, in order to ask her for forgiveness. That makes him a little bit better than Aatir. At least he tried to find her out of guilt, unlike Aatir who just fights his guilt pangs.

Screen Captures14

“Mujhe tou ye samajh nahi araha ke koi itna sangdil kese hosakta hai.” Well, you and me both Tehreem! I might have had my doubts on Aatir, but when I finally got to know that he was the kidnapper, I was shocked. The way this character manipulated a girl into loving him, married her, kidnapped her that very night, assaulted her while unconscious and then had her returned back to the house_only to live a miserable life_and acted as her well-wisher, was inhumane. I was glad that when Muqaddas found out the truth, she had her siblings by her side to comfort her. Her world did shatter, but at least her family and best friend were there with her. I expected to Muqaddas to scream and shout and ask how could the love of her life do this to her, but she just sat there.

Screen Captures15

Maryam’s phone call came at the right time as well, but I was surprised how she got Muqaddas’s number. I wish they had taken care of this loophole. Nonetheless, whatever Muqaddas said to Maryam was right on point. Agar aap zinda theen, tou marne ka dhong kyun rachati rahin? Apne bete ko kyun nahi bataya ke aap zinda hain? That is the question we all want the answer to, and judging by how calm Maryam was, I am sure she will give the answer to Muqaddas and us!

Muqaddas – Episode 34

Today’s episode of Muqaddas was very engaging and kept me glued to the screen. The next episode will be the last one since, according to Hum TV’s website a new drama is starting from 7th September. I am totally excited for the last episode and can hardly wait for what is in store for us!

Aatir’s accusation of Kabir was considered true by everyone, and that was surprising. I expected Nida to believe him, because she never trusted Kabir in the first place. She acts before she thinks and that is why her reaction was believable. It was Ruhi and Muqaddas’s reactions that surprised me. Muqaddas immediately thought that Kabir kidnapped her to avenge the rejection he faced years ago. She did not stop to think how Aatir got to know of this. Without any proof, she believed Aatir, forgetting that he arranged a fake culprit in the past as well. Ruhi had always tried to save Nida’s marriage and tried to stop her from demanding a divorce. All of a sudden, without any proof she believed that Aatir was right and that her son-in-law was capable of all this. However, she soon started to question the authenticity of Aatir’s story. Ruhi’s realization that Kabir was probably not the culprit was right on time! She finally realized that if Aatir was really telling the truth, why was he still not doubting Muqaddas’s character? After all, he was the son of Ahmed Ali, the man who threw his wife out of the house just because of a doubt, and disowned her child.

Screen Captures9

After today I felt like there is no redemption for Aatir. When he initially heard Ruhi calling his unborn child illegitimate, he became subconsciously guilty. His visits to his mother’s grave, where he reminded himself that he did all of this for her, showed that he was feeling sorry for what he put Muqaddas through. However, he has put all those guilt pangs behind. He is no more confused about what he did and wants to do. His conversation with Sarmad showed how determined he is to keep Muqaddas oblivious of the truth. All is fair is love and war. Sarmad did what I expected him to do. Apni bacche ko maar kar tum kabhi sukoon se nahi reh paoge. He tried to remind Aatir the consequences of his actions again and again. He is playing with so many lives right now. Nida, Kabir, Muqaddas and yes, his very own child, but he fails to acknowledge that. I can hardly wait for Maryam and Aatir’s meeting. Aatir is at that point in life where he does not want to look back. Maryam’s appearance will come as a big shock to him.

Screen Captures10

Sarmad always tried to get Maryam to tell her about his family, but she refused to. Just like some of the readers have said, Sarmad could have pre-planned his meeting with Aatir and he might already know that Aatir is his brother. The way he pushed her to tell him why his father never came to meet him showed that he had no idea. Maryam told him the entire story of how she was thrown out of her own house, but that whole scene was fast forwarded and the only part of her story the viewers got to hear was the end.

Screen Captures11

I really felt for Kabir after his phone call to Annie. All he did was try to help Muqaddas and he suffered because of it. Aatir can have him thrown into prison and his life will be destroyed.

Screen Captures12

So, did you guys enjoy this episode? I am sure you all are very excited for the last one. This show has been one hell of a ride. This is the most second most well-executed thriller after “Meri Jaan” (also a Hum TV drama). The entire team of Muqaddas; the writer, Adeel Razzaq, director, Ali Masud, the actors (Noor Hassan, Hina Bayat, Iqra Aziz, Furqan Qureshi, Nida Zaidi, Farhan Ali Agha, Agha Jarrar) , the cameramen, editors and all others involved have done their jobs well. I end this review with the hope that the ending will do justice to the drama. :)

Muqaddas – Episode 30-33

Muqaddas is getting more interesting after each episode and the makers have made sure that the viewers don’t get bored any second! I really appreciate the writer for introducing the right twists at the right time. Muqaddas might have slowed down a bit after the reveal of the kidnapper but now it has picked up speed.

After Ruhi’s constant reminders to Aatir, that the child could not possibly be his, made him realize that this child would never live a normal life. Muqaddas would always face taunts.  When Muqaddas finally accepted in front of him that even she believed the child wasn’t Atir’s, he knew that he had destroyed the life of the woman he loved. Unable to face Muqaddas, Aatir ran away from the house for a few days, after telling only Ruhi. All he left Muqaddas was a text, and told Kausar to take care of Muqaddas. Now Kausar may be a kind soul, who always warns Muqaddas if Ruhi is cooking something up against her, but she is only a servant of the house. What could she possibly do to save Muqaddas from her evil MIL? Aatir should never have left his wife at the mercy of Ruhi because he knows very well how much she dislikes Muqaddas_ but he did.

Screen Captures3

If it was any other actress playing Ruhi, this character would be intolerable. Hina Byat, on the other hand, has played many of my favourite characters in the past and she performs well in every role, even as the evil stepmother and saas. Aatir leaving the house, for Ruhi, was like hitting the jackpot. First of all, she told Zain to grab Aatir’s place as CEO of Ahmed Ali Group of Companies. She knows that Zain is not mature enough to do any such thing. She also knows how much Aatir loves his step-siblings and respects her, but her greed remains the same. Secondly, she reminded her daughter-in-law that now she would be the one giving the orders. This resulted in Muqaddas not being able to meet Ashrafi once again but none of these steps were as evil as scaring poor Muqaddas in the middle of the night! She fainted right there. Still, it was funny how quickly Annie, Kabir and Nida arrived at the scene and Ruhi could do nothing other than pass sarcastic comments. Annie came in like a boss, as of it was her house and Ruhi and Zain were outsiders. It made me laugh.

Screen Captures4

Aatir made his way to another house of his. He desperately wanted to talk to someone and that is why he called Sarmad, the man he met at the graveyard. Even when he didn’t know much about Sarmad, he felt a connection to him and that is why he felt no issue in discussing important issues of his life. Mera dil karta hai ke mein apne dil ki saari baatein tum se share karun. He told Sarmad all about how he married Muqaddas and then kidnapped her to take revenge from Jahanzeb, how he fell in love with her after that and now that she is pregnant, his plan for revenge is in jeopardy. Sarmad proved to be a voice of reason. Jin se muhabbat karte hai unse intikaam nahi liya karte. Aatir planned his revenge for a long time, but he had no idea fate would intervene like this. Now that it has, he has no idea how to deal with it. What will Muqaddas do when she finds out about what he did to her and her father? Her entire world will shatter and she will definitely never want to see Aatir again. He wouldn’t have returned, if not for Kausar’s phone call.

The biggest reveal however, was that Maryam is still alive and well. She is living with Sarmad, her son. After seeing Maryam for the first time, a lot of questions popped into my head. Maryam is alive, so who did Aatir’s family bury? Why hasn’t she contacted her son? When Sarmad asked her if he had a brother, she denied. I was kind of surprised after hearing her thoughts.  “Jis baap ne tumhe najaiz keh kar tumhe gaali di, uska beta tumhara bhai kese hosakta hai?” Did she not meet Aatir all these years just because he was Ahmed Ali’s son? Whatever the matter is, I love the timing of this drama!

Screen Captures7

For the first time, Kabir actually analysed the situation and explained it to Nida. Doubt will ruin their relationship and for the first time Nida realized that he was right. Their relationship is suffering because; Kabir has been in love with Muqaddas all this while. He could never build a strong relationship with Nida who isn’t exactly a polite and patient woman. Also, Kabir is trying to help Muqaddas realize that Aatir is her kidnapper, and Aatir is Nida’s brother. Kabir can’t tell this to Nida because she will never believe this. His attempts at helping Muqaddas are considered cheating attempts by his wife. This communication gap could result in a divorce.

Aatir found a way out of this situation_ abortion. He knows that if Muqaddas finds out that the child is actually his, she will realize that he kidnapped her and he doesn’t want to lose Muqaddas. What he doesn’t know is, that it’s not possible to abort this child, otherwise Muqaddas would have done it earlier.

Kabir and Muqaddas’s meeting seemed like a waste of time first. Even though this time Kabir was completely sure about Aatir’s involvement (since he overheard Jehanzeb and Aatir talking in the hospital)  I did not expect Muqaddas to trust him at all, but he did manage to convince her a little bit. When Muqaddas visited Jehanzeb after her conversation with Kabir, she ended up crying on her father’s shoulder and telling him about what Kabir said. Aatir doesn’t want Muqaddas to meet Kabir because he knows Kabir is on to him. Looks like Jehanzeb also doesn’t want Muqaddas to find out the truth. He is too ashamed of what he did and knows he wouldn’t be able to face her. He ended up telling Aatir about Kabir’s meeting with Muqaddas.

Screen Captures6

Aatir drove mad after hearing this, and even threatening Kabir at the top of his lungs wasn’t enough. Woh mujh se zyada kabir pe aitbaar karti hai. Aatir’s breakdown in the washroom was wonderfully performed by Noor Hassan. I have lost count of all the moments when he was phenomenal in Muqaddas and this was definitely one of them.

Screen Captures8

Sarmad’s phone call came at the moment when Aatir needed it. I kind of like the bond between Sarmad and Aatir. They’re brothers and they don’t know it but still have this strong connection. I wish Sarmad would make more of an effort to make Aatir realize that what he did was wrong. I really think that meeting Maryam will change Aatir and he will accept his mistakes. What made me laugh was that now there are two people entitled to the ownership of Ahmed Ali Group of Companies. Ruhi doesn’t even know it yet! ;)

Whether Aatir will accept his mistakes is not clear, but one thing is obvious, it isn’t happening anytime soon. Aatir is up to his knees in revenge and he isn’t leaving it behind. He will do anything to keep his cover. Him blaming Kabir for the kidnapping was surprising considering how much he tried to save Nida’s marriage. This highlights Aatir’s extreme side, just like the breakdown earlier. He will do anything to stop Muqaddas from finding out the truth. Nida’s reaction did not surprise me. I was just happy that Muqaddas wasn’t in the house. She would probably be murdered by Nida!

Muqaddas – Episode 28-29

0

Kabir was disappointed with Nida’s demand for divorce and upset because of the insult he faced. He decided that he had had enough of this family and that it was time to move away from them. When he sent his resignation to Aatir and said that he wanted to fulfill Nida’s wish, he was very determined. That was probably the first time he talked to Aatir with such a tone. In order to save his ungrateful sister’s marriage Aatir tolerated Kabir’s rudeness (which was very much reasonable after the insults he faced). However, it was a phone call from Muqaddas which made Kabir take back his decision. He still loves her, and that is why her request mattered to him. A flashback told us that Nida fell in love with Kabir at first sight and married him against her family’s wishes. Mujhe jo cheez chahiye hoti hai, mein usse haasil karke rehti hun. Referring to your spouse as “cheez” is just wrong! Have these two ever worked on their marriage? Did Kabir ever try to forget Muqaddas and did Nida ever let go of her ego? I think not.

Fullscreen capture 8132015 125300 AM

Muqaddas was definitely not expecting a confession of love from Kabir right now! For starters, she never felt about Kabir this way when they studied together. Now after getting married to Aatir, who she believes loves her like crazy and prefers her over every other person in his life, she’d never think of loving another man. She clearly told Kabir that he only asked for his help because she thought of him as a hamdard. I really have no idea how Muqaddas will react when she finds out about her real kidnapper. She thinks the world of Aatir. Finding the truth about him will shatter her into a million pieces.

Fullscreen capture 8132015 10457 AM

Remember Ruhi making a plan with Zain to kidnap Muqaddas again? Kya bana uska? Zain has been out of the picture for a few episodes and so is the plan. Meanwhile, Ruhi entrusted Akbar with the responsibility of gathering evidence, to convince Aatir that Muqaddas is not carrying his child. I expected that they would create false evidence and Aatir would definitely not believe them. What I didn’t expect was, that Akbar would cheat his dearest Ruhi! It was surprising to know that he ran away with 5 million rupees taken from the woman he has been completely loyal to all this while. After Aatir, the best faker award goes to Akbar.

A little more was revealed about the past. We got to see Ayesha (Muqaddas’s mother_ played by Madiha Rizvi) . Jahanzeb had always been in love with Maryam, but she loved Ahmed Ali, who happened to be Jahanzeb’s friend. Jehanzeb got married to Ayesha but could never forget Maryam, so he made excuses to visit Ahmed’s house often. He would try to talk to Maryam to remind her of how much he loved her and she would always tell him off. After constant rejection Jehanzeb decided to throw dirt on Maryam’s character and that ruined her life and Aatir’s childhood. We still have to find out why Ahmed believed Jehanzeb’s lie. Did he not trust his wife at all?

Kanwar Nafees made an entry in this episode. I couldn’t catch the name of his character, but I am excited to find out what he is up to. He came to Aatir when he was standing beside his mother’s grave and spread some flowers on it. Then he asked for a ride home. Was their meeting coincidental or does he have some ulterior motive? Mujhe tum buhat apne se lage ho. He also mentioned that he often comes to the graveyard to take care of the grave of his mother’s friend. Ammi ka hukm samajh lo.

Muqaddas might love Aatir a lot but even she feels he is hiding something from her. Let’s see how she reacts when she finds out exactly what he is hiding. There is a lot more surprises our way so, yep, definitely excited! What do you guys think?

Muqaddas – Episode 26-27

The story is moving forward slowly, but the thrill is gone. This obviously had to happen, and I terribly miss the intrigue from the previous episodes, but I am glad the the show is not being dragged. I will repeat the fact that the performances are mesmerizing! Noor Hassan especially deserves a round of applause. He nails everyone of Aatir’s expressions, makes us hate this evil character and helps us understand him too. The writer deserves appreciation for writing this complex character well.

The promo tried to deceive the viewers that Aatir would divorce Muqaddas after finding out that she was pregnant but once I heard those three words I knew that it was one of the characters’ bad dream_ and as it turned out, it was. The way Aatir found out about the pregnancy was the tried and tested, eavesdropping, but unlike other dramas, I found it convincing and honestly, it was about time!

This week, we found out what Jehanzeb did to Aatir’s mother, Maryam Ahmed Ali, who is played by the gorgeous Fazila Qazi. A flashback showed young Aatir requesting Maryam to tell him a bedtime story and inquiring about why she was so sad. “Mein ne dekha thha, Jehanzeb uncle aap ko tang kar rahe thhe aur aap ro rahi thheen.” For a kid,  losing his mother is the worst thing ever. Six-year-old Aatir saw his mother being teased by Jehanzeb, then being thrown out of the house because of the same man. She may have committed suicide after that or the depression got to her. Either way, Aatir lost his mother at an age when he needed her the most, because of a man who valued his desire more than someone’s life. Aatir spent a lot of time crafting a plan to destroy that man. What Aatir forgot was, however, that he was doing the same thing Jehanzeb did. In order to achieve his desire, i.e revenge, he was ruining another person’s life_ a girl who had nothing to do with her father’s sins. Fate intervened and he fell in love with his “bait”, otherwise poor Muqaddas would be living with Jehanzeb right now, divorced and carrying a child who would never know who his/her father was.

Jehanzeb and Aatir’s conversations are definitely interesting. The phone call from episode 27 clearly explained us Aatir’s state of mind. Aatir’s concept of love is twisted. All those years of plotting and planning have taken their toll on his brain. He says he loves his wife and would never harm her, but then he threatens Jehanzeb by saying that he would leave Muqaddas or deny the fact that she is carrying his child. I so wish that Muqaddas hears one of those conversations and realizes what a twisted mentality the guy has. She deserves to know the truth. With that said, I don’t feel sorry for Jehanzeb at all. What he did was unforgivable and he deserves punishment for that_ Muqaddas doesn’t.

Kabir and Nida kept fighting and Nida really crossed the line when she openly claimed that Muqaddas and Kabir were having an affair. Kabir is obviously tired of her taunts but the divorce demand clearly caught him off guard. He was very disappointed and it showed that he had no intention of leaving her. I feel sorry for him because he has to deal with such an annoying wife. Nida Zaidi and Furqan Qureshi perform their characters well.

Even though I hate Aatir, I love it when he shuts Ruhi up. Ruhi keeps threatening Muqaddas that she will tell the “truth” to Aatir. I say the same thing every time Ruhi tries to scare Muqaddas,” You know nothing Ruhi!” She thinks she has it all figured out, but I bet she will get the shock of her lifetime when she finds out the truth. Aatir does not doubt Muqaddas’s character, but he is realizing how he put his child’s future at stake. In his subconscious he is regretting his actions. When he visited his mother’s grave and told her that he did it for her, and that Jehanzeb deserved this, he was actually telling himself, “You did nothing wrong.”

At this point, the ending is unclear. I just hope that the ending is justified and satisfactory. This drama is one of its kind and I hope that the ending OR dragging don’t ruin it for us.

Muqaddas – Episode 23-25

0

After watching episodes 23 and 24, (despite being in awe of the performances) I felt like the thrill was completely missing. It made me wonder if it would ever return because what kept us all glued to the screen in the initial episodes was guessing who the kidnapper was and what motive he could have. We learned about the identity of the kidnapper a few episodes ago and now we have to find out, what could possibly drive him to do all of this? The 24th episode made me think that the story was being dragged. Muqaddas was still freaking out about her pregnancy and we all were just guessing what motive Aatir could have for wanting to ruin Jahanzeb. After the 25th episode,  a tiny part of the secret was revealed and the whole pregnancy scenario moved a step ahead as well so I breathed a sigh of relief. So let’s start discussing the developments from these three episodes.

Shaukat’s wife, Razia, and her mother miraculously escaped from Akbar’s men, only to be captured again_ this time by Aatir’s guy. Aatir was at peace after being informed about their capture. He could then send them out of the city and this chapter could close forever. As for Shaukat, he gave him the task of spying on Kabir and reporting his every move. Meanwhile, Kabir was busy trying to force Jahanzeb to tell where he went after he came out of the coma and he succeeded.

After Aatir’s reminders to Jahanzeb, of the sins he had committed in the past, Jahanzeb was in deep stress and during his sleep, he kept asking for forgiveness from a woman named Ayesha. Muhib heard this and later when he questioned Jahanzeb about his sleep talk (in the presence of Muqaddas) it was clear that the siblings were familiar with the name because it belonged to their mother. Muqaddas’s dream also showed a woman crying in a corner of a dark house, and she referred to that woman as her mother. So is the woman, whose life Jahanzeb ruined, his own wife? How is she related to Aatir? Aatir has mentioned again and again that Jahanzeb ruined his mother’s life. In today’s episode he said that, “Aap ne meri maan ki zindagi barbaad ki, Muqaddas ki maa ki zindagi barbaad ki.” I think Jahanzeb destroyed the lives of two different women (because Muqaddas and Aatir’s mothers can’t be same, duh!). Whatever the case is, I know I can’t wait for the background story to be revealed.

As for Muqaddas, she has a lot on her mind right now:

a) she has yet to tell Aatir about the pregnancy (which we know won’t be a problem for him. but she doesn’t know that!)

b) she saw her mother in her dream and then her father told her that he treated his wife unfairly

c) she can’t even trust the love of her life completely  because she knows that Aatir has been visiting her father without telling her, that Aatir is the man her father visited after the coma ended and that Aatir showed her a “fake” kidnapper (remember Babar?)

d) her brother now knows about her supposedly illegitimate pregnancy

e) her bloodthirsty MIL is after her, has found out about the pregnancy, and is waiting for the opportune moment to strike

Out of these five situations in her life, I want her to deal with (a) first. In today’s episode, she was on the verge of telling the truth to Aatir, twice, but stopped. In episode 24, she was more concerned about what Aatir thought of Zain’s decision to marry Jia and even asked him about his relationship with her! Her question about Jia, however, was spot on! Had she married Aatir, would Jia have faced the same situation ?

These three episodes may not be so thrilling, but were still enjoyable. All the actors are superb and that is why I can connect to all of their characters. The writer, director, DOP, editors and everyone else on the team have done their jobs well. :) But the background music is extremely loud sometimes and I hope that this can be fixed. It’s not just Muqaddas, but most of the Pakistani dramas have very loud background scores.

Muqaddas – Episode 19-20

0

*SPOILER ALERT* I strongly advise those people who haven’t watched these episodes yet, not to read the review and spoil their fun since there were some major developments this week.

Muqaddas has exceeded our expectations once again. This well-written, well-executed play is still going strong and I hope it stays that way. A big shout out to team Muqaddas! These two episodes have given the viewers a lot to digest and discuss. :)

Aatir’s conversation with Ahmed over Skype hinted that Aatir doesn’t think too highly of his father. Last week as well, we saw Aatir wondering why Ahmed never talked to him about his biological mother. He misses her and dislikes his father for forgetting about her. Ahmed on the other hand adores his eldest son. Meri zindagi mein tum ek shaks ho jisse dekh kar jee uthta hun. Aatir didn’t even bother to tell him that he was getting married, but Ahmed was still excited to meet his daughter-in-law. So I got a good vibe from Ahmed but you never know! There’s this whole back story which we have yet to find out.

Fullscreen capture 792015 10232 AM

Muqaddas’s pregnancy was discussed again and again in these two episodes and it annoyed me because the same things were mentioned continuously. I so wanted the repetitive scenes to stop. The whole visit to the surgeon was, as expected, useless because even she couldn’t do anything for Muqaddas.

Kabir was on my suspect list once after his suspicious activities last week. His visit to Babar, all that mind boggling about who could have kidnapped Muqaddas and him finally informing Aatir that Babar was Zain ka khaas aadmi once again made me think that maybe he did not kidnap her. But I remember that when Nida informed him last week that Muqaddas’s kidnapper had been caught, he said that it was not possible at all. How did he know that? This week he sounded completely clueless about anything!

Fullscreen capture 792015 13155 AM

The big twist that was revealed in the 20th episode was kind of expected after we heard the word “badla” from Jahanzaib in the 19th episode. But the scene between Jahanzaib and Aatir was still the most thrilling one I have seen on Pakistani TV since a long time. Through a series of flashbacks, we were shown all those scenes from the previous episodes where Aatir shot everyone’s suggestions down, refused to go the police, that scene when the masked man raped Muqaddas and then finally the one from last week when the same man slapped Shaukat and then took off his mask, all preserved in Aatir’s devilish mind. I think that scene couldn’t be better! Noor Hassan absolutely nailed those expressions.

Congratulations all of my readers who had their doubts on the guy. Aatir successfully manipulated some of us.  ;) But now we know, that super caring husband never existed. He has gone to such lengths to make sure that Muqaddas suffers, and in turn, her family suffers. He has enjoyed every second of their suffering and acted like he was suffering along with them. It takes a huge grudge to do that. So with Jahanzaib finally conscious and ghayab from the hospital I do think Aatir had something to do with it. I could be wrong though. Maybe Jahanzaib is just trying to save himself from Aatir?

Muqaddas believes that her husband is a great person who loves her despite what happened to her and that’s why she feels guilty of hiding the pregnancy from him. I honestly abhor Aatir now, for putting her through this but that makes me all the more impatient to find out why he did this. What is the background story?

Fullscreen capture 792015 12641 AM

The makeup artists have done such a good job. All the ladies look gorgeous. Thumbs up guys!

Apparently the folks at Hum TV wanted us to suffer in suspense so they decided to show only two episodes this week. Not a good idea people!

Anyways, guys do tell how did you find these episodes?

Muqaddar Episode 9 & 10 Story Review – Interesting So Far

Ohkay so, Muqaddar is still in the initial stages & it is easy to believe that the actual story has not kickstarted yet. However, the way they are progressing the story, it still makes it a very good watch. There are always some emotional scenes which make you feel for the characters & relate to them. Muqaddar’s story so far is not new or hasn’t offered any of which has not been seen before, however, the acting & the overall execution makes it a decent drama to tune to.

Raima & Saif ur Rehman

Raima has not accepted Saif ur Rehman, but she has pretty much come to terms with the fact that she has been caged & she has nowhere to go. Raima promised herself as well as Saif ur Rehman that she will never forgive him or forget all that he has done & so far, she is sticking to her words. Saif ur Rehman is doing everything to make her feel like she is the most prized possession of his – this is his way of showing what she means to him but Saif ur Rehman doesn’t know that this mentality & thinking is exactly what makes Raima feel suffocated & disgusted. Raima was a girl full of dreams, she wanted to achieve so much & had set so many goals for herself but to see someone ripping her dreams into pieces has left her shattered.

Every step of the way, Raima’s portrayal of dejection was brilliant. She has lost that will to live, the drive that she had to experience life. Right now, she is being constantly reminded that her level has been elevated because of her marriage to Saif ur Rehman & she is unable to wrap her head around it. Raima comes from a very different background, therefore she feels sad at the tunnel visioned thinking of those women around her who think Raima’s life is sorted because she got married to a feudal lord like Saif ur Rehman. Raima obviously can not change their mentality or thinking, that is why she is left speechless, however every chance she gets, she lets them know that she doesn’t believe in any of this.

Muqaddar Episode 9 & 10 Story Review - Interesting So Far

Saif ur Rehman allowed Raima to meet her family. It was only because he wanted her to tell them that she is now married to him. Saif ur Rehman also wanted to send a message to Haris loud & clear that Raima now belonged to him, therefore he should accept the fact & move on. Raima’s meeting with her uncle & aunt was very emotional & well acted. Madiha Imam is superb when it comes to emotional scenes & she had added so much feel & depth in all the scenes of this kind. Fazila Qazi & Saife Hassan supported her brilliantly in this scene too. It was nice to see Arshad & Bilquess being apologetic because they actually know that they didn’t do much for her. Bilquees’ eagerness of not letting Raima go was sweet too. For her, Raima was like a daughter, therefore she loves her a lot & all the emotions she showed depicted just that.

Saad has been trying his best to get any clue about Raima but Saif ur Rehman is not willing to help. Saad still hasn’t understood the hesitation his uncle is showing when it comes to this matter, especially when all of this is quite easy for him to achieve. Farkhanda has realized that the cold behavior of Saif ur Rehman is very much due to his fondness for someone else. This is something that Farkhanda has experienced sporadically while being married to Saif ur Rehman, therefore she is very much aware of what her husband is upto. Farkhanda doesn’t seem to be the kind who would take a stand for herself, may be because so far in life, she was just happy with the fact that she was the only woman Saif ur Rehman was married to, but now with Raima in the picture, she will definitely suffer. The complexes have now started creeping into Farkhanda where she can’t bear the fact that Saif ur Rehman looks down on her. So far, it doesn’t look like Farkhanda will do much or will have something going for her character but if she does something to take a stand for herself, then it would definitely be interesting.

Haris continues to be bitter & seeing Maham coaxing her love & affection onto him agitates him further. Maham thinks she is going the right thing by showing all of her love & support but Haris is not in the right frame of mind to ignore or let go any of what she does easily. Haris feels irritated at everything that she does, however there was a slight shift in Bilquees’s behavior towards Maham, which makes me think it won’t be too long before she tells Haris to consider marrying Maham. Areeba decided to let her father know that she is not really into Saad & doesn’t want to get married but it seems her parents are not going to entertain her thoughts & ideas because they actually want her to get married to Saad, it is obvious that they want the cousins to get married to each other so that they can keep the wealth within the family & don’t have to worry about the distribution of property in the later stages of life.

Well Directed Drama

These episodes of Muqaddar were interesting, however I am keen to see the story kickstarting with the main focus being on Raima & Saif ur Rehman. Madiha Imam & Faysal Qureshi are definitely making this drama worthwhile & all the supporting actors have played their part equally well to make their characters shine through & look relatable. The director also deserves a credit for directing Muqaddar brilliantly. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Muqaddar.

Keep Supporting,
